Light years away from home, just my demons and I alone
Who: Rin Okumura and anyone else in the Bastion
When: After Groups A and B return and the Core is installed
Where: Near the apartment building
Style: [these fun things]
Status: OOOOPEN
[So hey. There's this girl. She's been in this place for a while, helped out with a lot of things, and today she got to help do something awesome! Cores are important to the Bastion after all, so that's a good thing.
Except she kind of... lit herself on fire and a lot of people saw it.
Anyone want to talk to her about that?
In all seriousness, Rin can be found after all that hubbub taking a break near the apartments, outside because she really doesn't want to be in her room right now. She's nursing a bit of a wound on her thigh from sliding on her legs under the bird earlier, but whatever road rash she got from doing so is starting to fade finally. Her sword is lying next to her in the grass, and she's just on her back, watching the odd sky above the Bastion quietly.
Mostly because her ears are still kind of ringing from what Crona did.
Ringing ears won't stop her from holding a conversation, though, if anyone cares to bother her, and she's in a decent mood given their accomplishments.]

I can take care of that, if you'd rather not wait.
[ Just going to point at those scrapes. ]
no subject
You sure you wanna use one on me? I kinda deserve it for doin' a base-slide on a buncha rock in a skirt.
no subject
[ In other words, Duke didn't plan on needing to use anything much. ]
no subject
[Obviously Duke offered because she wanted to, but Rin was one of those 'don't be a burden on people' types. Still, it wasn't exactly comfortable.]

She crouches down by the girl when she comes close, her whole demeanor very warm. ]
Hey there, Rin. Mind if I join you?
no subject
Rin peeked an eye open, the tuft of her tail curling and uncurling where it was resting on her stomach.]
Mm? Sure.
no subject
Thanks.
[ She sighs like it's some great relief to get to sit on the ground next to Rin, and stretches her arms above her head before turning her attention back to her. ]
You did really great out there.

[Rin smiled back brightly, looking surprisingly cheerful for all they had gone through.]

He quietly takes a seat next to her. For a few moments he stares out at nothing, contemplating what to say, how to begin.]
...I have never seen flames quite so blue as those you produced today.
[Certainly a more tactful thing to say than to directly ask what composed of the non-human half of her blood; a demon of some sort if he were to hazard a guess.]
no subject
Rin doesn't hear him approach like she normally would, but there's enough disturbance when he sits that she's not startled by his voice. She doesn't bother opening her eyes, either, recognizing him by his words alone given that they spent enough time on the Skyway for her to distinguish between him and the other survivor they found.
Her tail gives a twitch where it lays on her stomach, and her shoulders went up in a slight shrug.]
It's a talent.
[Then, after a pause, she peeked an eye open.]
... but you have seen flames like that... ?
no subject
He 'hmm's softly in confirmation.]
There are many creatures I have encountered that create fire through various means, although rather fewer who's flames were a different hue than one normally sees. I too possess some ability to manipulate fire, although I suspect yours are a bit more closely linked to your bloodline than my own.
no subject
Ah... yeah...
[That gets her to react in a much more closed off manner, even going so far as to sit up and wrap her arms around her knees, resting her chin on them. The comment about his bloodline confirmed some of her own suspicions. She couldn't sense exactly what he was but there was enough oddity from human nature that it did ping something.]
I haven't told anyone yet. But... I think some of 'em kinda figured it out before now, just by the way I talk about demons in my world.
... I'm half, by the way. My mother was human. Oh, and Bon knows. The guy with the blonde streak? He's from my world.

It's only good that they were fast, and that Alucard didn't get hurt from his fall.
But Bon remembers that Rin's ears are sensitive, and that attack hurt even his own regular ears. He figures Rin has to be hurting from that screeching attack. So he'll go talk to her about that, rather than how she can light herself on fire. He's seen that before, after all.]
Hey.
no subject
But right then that was the furthest from her mind since she was more about relaxing and waiting for the ringing in her ears to stop. It was evident that she wasn't completely ok, though. When Bon approached, she didn't shift or even open her eyes until he spoke. She was having trouble hearing things she normally would have picked up on.]
Yo.
[So eloquent, dear.]
no subject
How're you doing?
[Not that he's concerned or anything. Friends look out for friends like that, that's all. Even if Rin is different in some ways (he's still getting used to that), she's still Rin. A little bit of sound isn't going to take her out.]
no subject
[Well a headache and some nice road rash because seriously who does a base slide across stone in a skirt Rin. You dope.
She rolls over on her side, propping her head up with a hand.]
But hey... we did it, yeah? That's pretty awesome.

Yeah, Maka's a little miffed still about being told to run rather than help his allies fight, but there's only so much pouting you can do before realizing that you would basically be a sitting duck and it was for the best. After all, the Core got back to Bastion, and now things will be better. That and his mind is still spinning from the use of his Soul Perception. He still can't quite figure out what was nagging at him so much in it.
Better as far as they can be when most of your loved ones may or may not be dead and the only ones that are here think that you're supposed to be a girl anyway.
He sits down on her other side, not peeking into her field of vision but looking down at her nonetheless.]
Hey.
no subject
Rin's eyes don't open until he speaks, ears still ringing enough that she's not picking up movement and subtle noises as easily as she usually does. It'll fade eventually but for now she gets to deal with the constant ringing for another few hours.]
'sup.

Crona should apologize, and so the meister's going to make an attempt. Which actually means just standing at the corner of the nearest wall, and leaning cautiously around it to stare at Rin.]
no subject
... I know I kinda lit myself on fire but I swear I'm not gonna bite you if you wanna come over here.
no subject
Mmmmmm...
[Ragnarok doesn't like fire (he could boil up, after all), so he doesn't like Rin.
Crona doesn't know what to think of Rin yet.]
