Day 201 [event post]
Who: Zahi and everyone who wants to go hunt down the cure
Open: Open
When: 201- onwards
Where: the monument, and then out on the Skyway
What: People in the Bastion are falling sick, and Zahi knows where a cure can be found. Unfortunately, it won't be easy to get to.
Format: action
Warnings: none
[On Day 201, after several people have fallen ill, another meeting is called. This time, however, it is not Nathaniel who has called for everyone. It's Zahi.]
Okay, I know everyone's been worried about the people in the hospital, and it looks like our fears weren't unfounded: some of the people who went on that last trip, they caught something.
I've been watching the symptoms, and I think I know what this is. A long time ago, back before Zayna was born, there was a terrible illness that claimed the lives of many Ura. Everyone who fell sick here, they had the same symptoms as those who caught the disease before.
On the plus side, this means that it can be cured. I know of a clinic, way out in the Terminals, where there should be some medicine stocked. Not only can we cure the sick, but we can give another kind of medicine to those who aren't sick yet, so they won't catch it at all.
The downside is that it's gonna take a while to get there. It'll be at least two days there, and possibly more to track down exactly where the clinic is, and then the same amount of time back. We're looking at a four-day minimum, which means we won't be much help to those who are sick right now. They'll either be dead or getting better by the time we get back.
Then there's the fact that it's really dangerous out there. Zayna and I were out on the Terminals before we came here, and let's just say that there's a reason we went looking for somewhere safer to stay.
If you'd rather stay here, I can understand that. The Bastion is an amazing place, and I wouldn't be surprised if someone here managed to save everyone. But I'm not a fan of putting all my eggs in one basket, so I figured it's worth a shot to go and try to get some of the medicine.
What do you guys think?

What do you guys think?

Holy balls, man.
[ The demoness hisses, pivoting in the air and setting her feet on the roof of the building, landing with a soft thump to crawl around on all fours as easily as a standard dragon might, tail slithering around behind her. Eventually she cranes her neck over the side, looking around for any windows she might be able to look into. ]
I'm tellin' you, those footprints ain't old. Somebody is creepin' around on us. If they're safe out here that's fine, but they might have some knowledge on this mess. That's kinda important, yeah? For fuck's sake, knock again and say something.
no subject
[Way to get a rise out of him, Roze. But he'll go ahead and join her in peering into a window, if there is one to be found.]

Most of the room looks like a normal living room: a rug, a couple chairs, a fireplace. Beyond that it's too dark to make out any other objects in the room. There might be some boxes behind the chairs, it certainly looks like there's some square shapes over there. Or maybe a footstool?
Also, if either of them have sharp eyes, they'll catch a glint of sunlight coming off something going from the doorway to across the room. It looks like spiderweb, or fishing wire, or something like that which is normally really difficult to see.]

Aw, wittle pwecious is so powite. [ She prods him with an outstretched wing before falling silent and reaching out to snag his arm, eyes narrowing at the interior of the home. ]
Wait wait wait. Forget everything I said, don't go in. [ She hisses, suddenly serious. ] Not through the door. I think its rigged. Like BOOM kiss your ass goodbye.
no subject
So she watches silently, both brows raising at the tease, up until the point where Roze pulled the teenager back and commented about something inside being rigged.]
Let me see.
[She approached, getting close to the window and putting a glove clad hand over her eyes to block out the external light causing reflecting against the glass. A few odd motions, ducking around, moving her hand away and bringing it back happened before she finally stepped back with a sigh, hands on her hips.]
Oldest tricks are the best tricks, tried and true. You're absolutely right, that's a basic trip wire. What it's connected to, it's well hidden from here. A blade could cut it from a distance but it would be at the risk of tripping it regardless. We have to decide if we're willing to take said risk.
no subject
Then someone else can cut it while I keep it tight, go in there and check the situation. Fix it so my ass doesn't go kablooie.
no subject
[Guess who got tired of flying around as a bat and wanted to see what everyone else was doing? Don't mind that he just showed up behind you guys unannounced.]
no subject
No, that would be a bad idea. We have no idea what's lying beyond that single trap. I think Roze's idea is the best in this case.
no subject
[He's also going to back up a bit, and give the others room to work. Bon's specialty is in shooting monsters and chanting prayers, not in disarming traps.]
no subject
Right on, dude. You just keep your panties all while the grown-ups do all the work. [ Raspberry. So mature. ]
Alright..so... [ That sure was her fist throw a pane of glass. No hesitation. What? Don't judge her. No one said be delicate.
Half her ass hanging off the roof, Roze slither's her tail through the opening, coiling it round and round the wire and squeezing tightly before nodding. ]
Alright someone else is gonna have to get in there and cut it before my shit starts cramping. I'm flexible, but there's just some ways you ain't meant to bend for long.
no subject
[With a soft shnk noise, Ahime removed the narrow, almost shining blade from it's sheath and carefully moved to the door, testing the handle first before opening it a crack slowly.
There she crouched down, slipping the blade inside, lifting up every few centimeters to until she felt the resistance of the wire being held by Roze.]
... I would advise standing back. There is always a chance this won't work, and I would rather have less casualties if we must have any at all.
no subject
[Or try to, at least.]
no subject
But not before shooting Roze a glare. So mature, Roze.]

Did you do the thing? Is it done yet? Is it? [ She asked, claws digging into the roof and thighs quivering with the fine tremble of someone maybe a little too tense. If she could sweat she probably would have been. ]
no subject
[And get down from the roof ASAP.]
no subject
Bon.
Because landing on someone was hilarious and if you're gonna go out, might as well be with a laugh? Or maybe she was just hassling the guy because he got so huffy and it was hilarious.
Or both. ]
no subject
Yeah, the tension was keeping the bomb (several sticks of dynamite, actually) from being set off. And without that, it only takes seconds for the whole house to become a hollowed-out shell.
Anyone standing back should be alright, though the force from the blast would likely knock them over. Anyone right near it, though...]
no subject
Because clearly the squishy human should be the meat shield here.]

She lands several feet behind Bon and Roze, smoking and dealing with a rain of debris coming down on all of them.
There's a groan following it, and a lovely ringing in her ears, but she sits up anyway.
Completely unaware that she's bleeding an awful lot from a rather large protrusion in her side.]
E-... everyone... okay... ?!
no subject
<Ahime. Don't. Move. I'm going to send Zahi over here.>
no subject
Hey. I'm just about fireproof, babe...next time, worry about yourself, alright?
...Thanks.
[ She sniffed, grunting at the coppery scent and looking herself over curiously, then Bon. ]
What's the--ho~ly shit. [ Jesus Ahime, what the hell? ]
Seriously lady, don't move, you've got a...house sticking out of you.
...
Uh...
[ Fuck. ]
MEDIC!?
no subject
Medic.
Oh.
Oh no.]
... oh Goddess...
[She looks down, finally seeing the blood pooling beneath her, sensation returning enough for the warm, sticky fluid to register.]
E-... eheh... I-I've survived... wars--! This is what gets me?! Of all the rotten--...
