Day 201 [event post]
Who: Zahi and everyone who wants to go hunt down the cure
Open: Open
When: 201- onwards
Where: the monument, and then out on the Skyway
What: People in the Bastion are falling sick, and Zahi knows where a cure can be found. Unfortunately, it won't be easy to get to.
Format: action
Warnings: none
[On Day 201, after several people have fallen ill, another meeting is called. This time, however, it is not Nathaniel who has called for everyone. It's Zahi.]
Okay, I know everyone's been worried about the people in the hospital, and it looks like our fears weren't unfounded: some of the people who went on that last trip, they caught something.
I've been watching the symptoms, and I think I know what this is. A long time ago, back before Zayna was born, there was a terrible illness that claimed the lives of many Ura. Everyone who fell sick here, they had the same symptoms as those who caught the disease before.
On the plus side, this means that it can be cured. I know of a clinic, way out in the Terminals, where there should be some medicine stocked. Not only can we cure the sick, but we can give another kind of medicine to those who aren't sick yet, so they won't catch it at all.
The downside is that it's gonna take a while to get there. It'll be at least two days there, and possibly more to track down exactly where the clinic is, and then the same amount of time back. We're looking at a four-day minimum, which means we won't be much help to those who are sick right now. They'll either be dead or getting better by the time we get back.
Then there's the fact that it's really dangerous out there. Zayna and I were out on the Terminals before we came here, and let's just say that there's a reason we went looking for somewhere safer to stay.
If you'd rather stay here, I can understand that. The Bastion is an amazing place, and I wouldn't be surprised if someone here managed to save everyone. But I'm not a fan of putting all my eggs in one basket, so I figured it's worth a shot to go and try to get some of the medicine.
What do you guys think?

[With a soft shnk noise, Ahime removed the narrow, almost shining blade from it's sheath and carefully moved to the door, testing the handle first before opening it a crack slowly.
There she crouched down, slipping the blade inside, lifting up every few centimeters to until she felt the resistance of the wire being held by Roze.]
... I would advise standing back. There is always a chance this won't work, and I would rather have less casualties if we must have any at all.
no subject
[Or try to, at least.]
no subject
But not before shooting Roze a glare. So mature, Roze.]

Did you do the thing? Is it done yet? Is it? [ She asked, claws digging into the roof and thighs quivering with the fine tremble of someone maybe a little too tense. If she could sweat she probably would have been. ]
no subject
[And get down from the roof ASAP.]
no subject
Bon.
Because landing on someone was hilarious and if you're gonna go out, might as well be with a laugh? Or maybe she was just hassling the guy because he got so huffy and it was hilarious.
Or both. ]
no subject
Yeah, the tension was keeping the bomb (several sticks of dynamite, actually) from being set off. And without that, it only takes seconds for the whole house to become a hollowed-out shell.
Anyone standing back should be alright, though the force from the blast would likely knock them over. Anyone right near it, though...]
no subject
Because clearly the squishy human should be the meat shield here.]

She lands several feet behind Bon and Roze, smoking and dealing with a rain of debris coming down on all of them.
There's a groan following it, and a lovely ringing in her ears, but she sits up anyway.
Completely unaware that she's bleeding an awful lot from a rather large protrusion in her side.]
E-... everyone... okay... ?!
no subject
<Ahime. Don't. Move. I'm going to send Zahi over here.>
no subject
Hey. I'm just about fireproof, babe...next time, worry about yourself, alright?
...Thanks.
[ She sniffed, grunting at the coppery scent and looking herself over curiously, then Bon. ]
What's the--ho~ly shit. [ Jesus Ahime, what the hell? ]
Seriously lady, don't move, you've got a...house sticking out of you.
...
Uh...
[ Fuck. ]
MEDIC!?
no subject
Medic.
Oh.
Oh no.]
... oh Goddess...
[She looks down, finally seeing the blood pooling beneath her, sensation returning enough for the warm, sticky fluid to register.]
E-... eheh... I-I've survived... wars--! This is what gets me?! Of all the rotten--...
no subject
<Don't move. Don't panic. I'm getting Zahi. We'll get you through this.>
[Maybe. He hopes. But he has to try.]
no subject
Take that shit off and cram it against the wound. Now dude! [ She snaps, sharp teeth clacking together with the motion as she darts her eyes around for more to safe pack around the wound with. ]
Get her covered up and get something around the wound. Take your goddamn pants off is you have to. And do NOT move that thing. Not eve a little. Compress it and don't take the cloth off, just hold it down. I'm gonna follow birdboy and carry the doctor here. You got this? [ She demands of Bon, staring hard even as she lurches to her feet to find a place for take-off. ]
no subject
And it's a good thing he has a tank top underneath that, to protect his skin from Roze's claws.
He would normally yell at Roze for this, but taking care of Ahime is more important. He's not a Doctor like Yukio is, but he knows enough to at least get some pressure on the wound.]
This'll hurt a little.
[And he just kneels there and holds the ripped shirt in place, trying to keep Ahime from bleeding too much. Hopefully Roze hurries.]
no subject
Because it's not.
Suddenly a gunshot rings out across the terminals, and a bullet goes whizzing by Roze's head. It's a near-miss, but close enough that whoever shot it is definitely being serious.]
no subject
A shaking, bloody hand goes to snag... well, anyone's wrist roughly, voice still far too loud thanks to ringing in her ears.
Basically whoever is unfortunate to be at just the right range for her to grab.]
No--! Listen to me! That cure-- those people back there need it! Th-this... this is the kind of thing I've been prepared for my entire life... you need to get them back safe with it, so that no one else will die!
[And just in case anyone is willing to argue:]
That's a damn order!
no subject
[And now he's going to go talk to Zahi and head out as soon as he's got the cure.]
no subject
MOTHER FUCKER IF I FUCKING FIND YOU YOU WILL RUE THE FUCKIN' DAY YOU WERE BORN!
[ Please don't shoot at the scaley pink-haired lady, sir or ma'am. She does not take kindly to being shot at, and those scales are pretty good for bullets. ]
You take care of her, birdboy can get the doc but somebody has to stop this piece of shit from making it worse. She doesn't need more holes in her.
Sorry princess, I don't take orders from you. There's a whole group after that cure. If they get shot, we're all fucked.
[ And she was off climbing the nearest tall thing, because she's gonna fly out and rain hell on whoever is being such a huge piece of shit. ]
no subject
And yes, it's 'them'. As in, a dozen men in bright patchwork clothes, all with rifles (in various states of repair) trained on Roze.
As soon as she's up and flying, they all shoot at her.]
no subject
no subject
But any chance to snap back (she is not a princess, thank you very much) is cut short by that wonderful arrival.]
Oh seven hells and all that dwell beneath them... !
[Gritting her teeth, ignoring what everyone has been telling her, Ahime stabs her sword in to the ground and uses it to haul herself to her feet, clutching at the bloody mess of cloth, armor, and wood at her side as she stumbles forward.]
We-- [wheeze] We did not come here to fight! Lower your weapons or-- [cough] I will be forced to take action against you!
