If you're out and about around the Bastion today, you'll find yourself pulled aside by Skyla, no matter how busy you may be. As shocking as it is that she's actually making an effort to interact with everyone, even more puzzling is the little notepad she has with her, that appears to be occupied by some kind of meat-centric tally chart.

She'll kind of glare for a moment, like she's irritated at being drawn into a conversation (despite the fact that she's the one who started this in the first place) before saying, in a completely casual voice;

"What's your favourite kind of meat? If you're a vegan or some shit, just pick the one that starts with your favourite letter of the alphabet."

No, this isn't an innuendo and yes, you are going to have to ask for context.

You don;t exactly seem like the kinda guy who'd do that outta the goodness of his heart, or whatever.

I'm not. It's simply practical.

The more people we have out there who know what they're doing, the less of a chance we have to waste time pulling you out of a ditch or explaining to you how to do things when we're on a time limit.

If this were the Organization, I would have had you cycled through different partners to explain different aspects of reconnaissance, combat... Everything, basically, along with it serving as a basic introduction.

But I don't have that kind of weight here to shove random people onto whoever I want.

It's one thing to needlessly endanger herself but when it comes to doing the same to other people, just the thought makes something that might be guilt twinge in her stomach.

We tried to keep ourselves low-key for some time, in truth. I was more or less second in command, I will admit that. I organized missions and tried to keep aware of where everyone was at any given time.

It became both easier and harder when everyone started to die, of course, but it was something I did for some years.

[ she raises an eyebrow at him, arms folded across her chest. ]

What kinda missions? You make it sound like you were all doing top secret government bullshit. Don't tell me you were part of the Avengers? Should I be usin' your superhero name?

Reconnaissance and elimination.

[That doesn't sound menacing at all.]

We weren't a part of any world's government, and we certainly weren't superheroes of any sort. We had our own objectives.

The creatures we eliminated weren't human and... generally not sentient, although I couldn't tell you for sure.

...My friend Axel was more like a hitman, however, now that I think about it. [Saix just sent him to kill people. But the majority of them were assholes, so it's okay.]

Creatures made out of Darkness and the torn out hearts of people who propagated by doing just that and aimed to devour those of entire Worlds.

They're called Heartless, which isn't a really fitting name but I wasn't the one to dub them that.

I don't do my hair in anything besides how it is. That and the occasional ponytail but I'm fairly certain that's probable.
