[On Day 201, after several people have fallen ill, another meeting is called. This time, however, it is not Nathaniel who has called for everyone. It's Zahi.]

Okay, I know everyone's been worried about the people in the hospital, and it looks like our fears weren't unfounded: some of the people who went on that last trip, they caught something.

I've been watching the symptoms, and I think I know what this is. A long time ago, back before Zayna was born, there was a terrible illness that claimed the lives of many Ura. Everyone who fell sick here, they had the same symptoms as those who caught the disease before.

On the plus side, this means that it can be cured. I know of a clinic, way out in the Terminals, where there should be some medicine stocked. Not only can we cure the sick, but we can give another kind of medicine to those who aren't sick yet, so they won't catch it at all.

The downside is that it's gonna take a while to get there. It'll be at least two days there, and possibly more to track down exactly where the clinic is, and then the same amount of time back. We're looking at a four-day minimum, which means we won't be much help to those who are sick right now. They'll either be dead or getting better by the time we get back.

Then there's the fact that it's really dangerous out there. Zayna and I were out on the Terminals before we came here, and let's just say that there's a reason we went looking for somewhere safer to stay.

If you'd rather stay here, I can understand that. The Bastion is an amazing place, and I wouldn't be surprised if someone here managed to save everyone. But I'm not a fan of putting all my eggs in one basket, so I figured it's worth a shot to go and try to get some of the medicine.

[he hasn't actually seen himself in a mirror yet. To say he's not feeling brilliant would be an understatement, but he actually has no idea how pale and peaky he looks]

[Flat stare.]

[stares back for a few momemts]

[another weak chuckle]

Call it a four. Wouldn't want to go sliding off the scale too quickly.

If y'do that you're gonna make Yuki's head explode from stress. The sooner you admit you're not doin' okay the faster he can help you.

I'm fully aware of how sick I am. Not going to refuse treatment.

[but he has people he is worried about. He feels like shit but he wants to make sure they're okay - at least relatively speaking- before he lets his own symptoms get the better of him]

Good. 'cause I woulda had Yukio on you so fast...

[There's a cough following that, and she nods. That's enough water for now.]

You would set Yukio-on me? I thought we were friends...

[leans aside and sets the cup down beside the bed, hand rising to his throat to painfully stifle a cough of his own. The discomfort is horrible, the coughing does nothing to clear it, and besides, it would be terribly undignified to cough all over his Rin-chan]

Are you set to go back to sleep now?

Siccin' my brother on you is a sign of friendship. It means I care enough to give you over to a doctor. Idiot.

[But yes, she'll go back to sleep.]

[begins to move - albeit reluctantly - in order to let her lie down and get some sleep. His body feels like it's creaking...]

[slides off the bed, surprised that it's not more audible in his body, though his feet certainly his the floor heavily. Lie down, Rin-chan]

[Whoops starting to fall asleep now]

[bracing himself against the headboard with one arm, leaning heavily against it while the other gently strokes through Rin's hair, taking care not to undo his not-so-careful work]

[Oh keep doing that, she's going to purr now.
