Day 201 [event post]
Who: Zahi and everyone who wants to go hunt down the cure
Open: Open
When: 201- onwards
Where: the monument, and then out on the Skyway
What: People in the Bastion are falling sick, and Zahi knows where a cure can be found. Unfortunately, it won't be easy to get to.
Format: action
Warnings: none
[On Day 201, after several people have fallen ill, another meeting is called. This time, however, it is not Nathaniel who has called for everyone. It's Zahi.]
Okay, I know everyone's been worried about the people in the hospital, and it looks like our fears weren't unfounded: some of the people who went on that last trip, they caught something.
I've been watching the symptoms, and I think I know what this is. A long time ago, back before Zayna was born, there was a terrible illness that claimed the lives of many Ura. Everyone who fell sick here, they had the same symptoms as those who caught the disease before.
On the plus side, this means that it can be cured. I know of a clinic, way out in the Terminals, where there should be some medicine stocked. Not only can we cure the sick, but we can give another kind of medicine to those who aren't sick yet, so they won't catch it at all.
The downside is that it's gonna take a while to get there. It'll be at least two days there, and possibly more to track down exactly where the clinic is, and then the same amount of time back. We're looking at a four-day minimum, which means we won't be much help to those who are sick right now. They'll either be dead or getting better by the time we get back.
Then there's the fact that it's really dangerous out there. Zayna and I were out on the Terminals before we came here, and let's just say that there's a reason we went looking for somewhere safer to stay.
If you'd rather stay here, I can understand that. The Bastion is an amazing place, and I wouldn't be surprised if someone here managed to save everyone. But I'm not a fan of putting all my eggs in one basket, so I figured it's worth a shot to go and try to get some of the medicine.
What do you guys think?

What do you guys think?

But those names- Duke focuses and tries to think a bit. ]
Rosethorn and Seimei... we found the body outside.... so unfortunate sense...
[ Excuse Duke, coughing time again. Then just breathing because those fits hurt. ]
no subject
Yeah. It's not good for anyone on that mission. I'm watching Yukio and Nathan very closely...
Don't try to push words, though.
no subject
Duke raises one hand from the water, points at her eyes then at Colin. Then ammends that with pointing at Colin's torso, then her eyes, then up at his head.
Who is watching you? or is the suit watching you- ]
no subject
The suit is monitoring my health. You may have noticed that I made every effort to keep quite a bit of distance from everyone when we found out what was there.
And in the event that I do get sick, I'm still going to stay in this suit. Nothing gets in or out. Nothing. It can regulate temperature, provide medicine, and generally keep me alive for a month.
no subject
And then she decided she wouldn't try to gesture that across. He'd answer. She doesn't want to know. ]
no subject
[He can't actually read Duke's mind. It's just the first question EVERYONE asks.]
no subject
Starts smelling funny?
That question is going to bite her too, isn't it. ]
no subject
Lots of filtration.
And generally, when you take the suit off, you do it alone. With immediate access to a shower.
no subject
Duke doesn't have anything else to say, so back into the water that hand goes. That was more tiring than talking, but talking did have that unfortunate side effect of cough attacks, which were horrible. And both sort of happened.
Wait, no Duke thought of something. Tapping a wrist now. How long is she going to need to stay in here? If its for a while yet, she might readjust how she's settled, because yeah, tired... ]
no subject
[Another grin, then he shakes his head.]
You're... going to be in here for a while.
At least until you start to go all raisin-like, possibly longer.
no subject
Although after she's settled, she blinks at Colin in a "this is okay, right?" way. You're currently doctor, she's listening... ]
no subject
[He can hear you. He can hear everything in the hospital right now. Sensitive audio receptors.]
no subject
Right, he'd been talking to her anyway. It was probably something the suit does.
Washcloth. Right. Duke checks that - and it feels damp enough to her, so she stays settled.
Have a tiny wave, Colin, Duke is going to try to nap.
And there isn't a call for help - but Colin might catch the sound of the washcloth falling to the floor outside the tub. Guess who managed to fall asleep and moved enough to dislodge the cloth? ]
