Day 201 [event post]
Who: Zahi and everyone who wants to go hunt down the cure
Open: Open
When: 201- onwards
Where: the monument, and then out on the Skyway
What: People in the Bastion are falling sick, and Zahi knows where a cure can be found. Unfortunately, it won't be easy to get to.
Format: action
Warnings: none
[On Day 201, after several people have fallen ill, another meeting is called. This time, however, it is not Nathaniel who has called for everyone. It's Zahi.]
Okay, I know everyone's been worried about the people in the hospital, and it looks like our fears weren't unfounded: some of the people who went on that last trip, they caught something.
I've been watching the symptoms, and I think I know what this is. A long time ago, back before Zayna was born, there was a terrible illness that claimed the lives of many Ura. Everyone who fell sick here, they had the same symptoms as those who caught the disease before.
On the plus side, this means that it can be cured. I know of a clinic, way out in the Terminals, where there should be some medicine stocked. Not only can we cure the sick, but we can give another kind of medicine to those who aren't sick yet, so they won't catch it at all.
The downside is that it's gonna take a while to get there. It'll be at least two days there, and possibly more to track down exactly where the clinic is, and then the same amount of time back. We're looking at a four-day minimum, which means we won't be much help to those who are sick right now. They'll either be dead or getting better by the time we get back.
Then there's the fact that it's really dangerous out there. Zayna and I were out on the Terminals before we came here, and let's just say that there's a reason we went looking for somewhere safer to stay.
If you'd rather stay here, I can understand that. The Bastion is an amazing place, and I wouldn't be surprised if someone here managed to save everyone. But I'm not a fan of putting all my eggs in one basket, so I figured it's worth a shot to go and try to get some of the medicine.
What do you guys think?

[ So now Zulf has a coughing knight on the edge of the bed. Duke is still stubbornly holding onto that blanket, and trying to keep feet off the floor. Wow, this is cold, and Duke doesn't like it.
No commentary, breathing is troublesome enough. ]
no subject
[Zulf just does his best to try and get one of Duke's arms over his shoulders, while a certain small Cubone prods at her ankles with its little bone.]
This will be good for you in the long run.
no subject
not s'posed to sleep sick away?
[ But guess who is putting weight on Zulf to try to stand anyway? Someone recognizes he's going to be a persistent ass about this. ]
no subject
You need to- [A grunt as he wobbles up a little bit- no sleep has made his own strength a little unreliable- and starts to drag Duke over to the washroom area.] -wash the filth away. You need to supply your body with nutrients.
no subject
[ No Duke, you're just crazy. Or Terca Lumirean colds are different.
Duke attempts to help with this walking thing, but yeah, its mostly Zulf hauling the knight along. At least Duke isn't terribly heavy? Wait, that's not a good thing here, is it.. ]
Drink it easier than eat. [ Spoons make everything troublesome, Zulf. ]
no subject
[Once they're inside, Zulf is just... sort of going to set her down onto the ground and try to help Duke undress. Since movement is basically a problem as well. Cubone is at work too. Sort of. As much as babby Pokemon can help, which isn't very much.]
1/2
You know what's not great tho- ]
2/2
That is not okay at all. ]
No. I'll-
[ have a massive coughing fit. ]

no subject
Telepathy will work sometime. Right? ]
no subject
no subject
Embarrassed.
She doesn't want to. Really really doesn't want to. Excuse her as she tries hunching up and tugging at her clothes on her own.
Yeah its pretty clear that she might need the help. ]
no subject
You need help, come on now... What is there to be embarrassed about? [A genuine question.]
no subject
[ She's not comfortable with that. ]
Haven't.. lived as for...
no subject
...And?
no subject
[ Doesn't know how to deal with it, at all.
Even more reason why Duke is bundled into blanket ball. ]
no subject
...but we really do need to get you into the bath.
no subject
[ Its confusing and not something Duke had even thought about worrying about, honestly.
And so after a moment Duke reluctantly sheds the blanket. That bath better be warm or so help her- ]
no subject
[What comforting bedside manner, right?]
[But Zulf does go to help her out a bit more, very politely not looking at her body once he's gotten through with her clothes and being careful where he puts his hands. The bathwater is checked to make sure it's warm enough before he starts to help her in.]
Let me know if you think you're going to faint or otherwise, alright?
no subject
Alert if I fall asleep, okay.
[ There's a hint of snark to that. Warmwater feels better, even if the knight is self-consciously crossing arms over chest. ]
... just sitting?
no subject
...If I try to scrub you, are you going to be just as uncomfortable?
no subject
Short answer - yes. No one else has in forever.
Long answer - yes, but it might be worth it. ]
... hair would be nice.
no subject
[There's a small cup he uses to gather up water, making sure to get her hair thoroughly wet.]
Does the heat feel better?
your icon looks like he has a bloody nose. i should sleep-
[ Duke would have nodded, but that would be a bad idea, and a mmm of yes might have started coughing.
There's a lot of hair, Zulf, have fun. ]
wow no i have a different icons for bloodied up zulf
[At least Zulf is determined to get through it.]
Do you think you can keep awake until I'm done?
I meant like bloody perv nose-
WOW where is your brain
It was mostly gone, run off with Zulf washing a (confused, sick) lady-
