[So the past few days in the Bastion have been very hectic and a little more than emotionally stressful for everyone. About two days have come and gone since the last very large batch of arrivals have come in to the Bastion, and thankfully since then it's been relatively quiet. It's a good time to compress, meet some new people and maybe have some good food at the distillery courtesy of Rin.]

Well... I don't see why not. If we're stuck here together it ain't like we can avoid each other or anythin'.

Yeah. Especially not if you're the cook around here. That's kind of important.

Wellll second cook. The main cook is currently in the hospital. But she's okay! She just had a baby and they're both healthy.

[A good point to bring up since 'hospital' often made it sound like something bad had happened.]

But yeah, I'm pretty much here most of the time.

A baby! I've never seen a baby...

[People didn't have babies in Vatheon, a fact which is only now occurring to him.]

Really? You should go see him! I'm sure Mireille wouldn't mind.

[Honestly that was one of the few positive things that had happened recently, and it was enough to put Rin in a much happier mood than she had been. She could never picture herself having children but she was more than excited and relieved that Mireille had survived along with her child.]

Ah... Maybe I'll just take a peek, when I head back over there.

[He's not so sure she'd want some strange kid coming to stare at her baby.]

That- was a weird thing to say, wasn't it? I mean, of course it takes a while.

[She's... not really sure what to say to that.]

Are you sure? 'cause- I'm not doing so great with the talking, right now.

[He'd like to blame it on things like still being disoriented by the new world or weirded out by Rin's gender change, but the truth is that that conversation probably wouldn't have gone much differently if it had happened back in Vatheon.]
