Day 123 [OPEN]
Who: Everyone
Open: Open
When: Day 123
Where: All over the Bastion
What: Obligatory "We just got more people/survived a hellish experience" mingle log!
Format: Your choice!
Warnings: Shouldn't be any?
[So the past few days in the Bastion have been very hectic and a little more than emotionally stressful for everyone. About two days have come and gone since the last very large batch of arrivals have come in to the Bastion, and thankfully since then it's been relatively quiet. It's a good time to compress, meet some new people and maybe have some good food at the distillery courtesy of Rin.]

[Paarthurnax had noted the presence of paper, after all, and hadn't wanted to land in case the rush of air from his wingbeats blew it all away.]
[But he does reappear, his head surfacing somewhat along the river before rising a bit more so that he can see what the composer is doing. Water follows the paths of his scales and scars, dripping from his horns.]
Ah, a sonaan. I recall songs they have sung in Skyrim.

Though little had been put on the paper yet, Frederic was grateful that enough consideration had been taken for it to not get ruined. He couldn't help but gape for a good minute, though. Paar was certainly larger than expected up close and for one who had only faced creatures of his size and might on the battlefield it was rather humbling to have one speak to him as an equal.]
I'm afraid I haven't been able to write much yet. An incomplete song is hardly a song at all.
May I ask the name of this magnificent creature that has graced me with it's presence?

[There's just the barest shift of his head at the adjectives used towards him.]
I am merely an old dovah. There is little that is magnificent about me now. I am Paarthurnax, although you may call me Wuth Gein or 'Old One' if they are easier on your tongue. Not all find it so easy to speak dovahzul.

But such things don't matter much here, do they?
[Frederic smiled at that, and rose to his feet to give a proper gentlemanly bow.]
I am Frederic Francois Chopin, and it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance Sir Paarthurnax. I may not be able to speak your language, but to my ears it sounds quite lovely.

[A nod to a certain large stone wall not too far off.]
It is important to keep such things alive.

[Frederic looks at the stone in the distance, a sad smile coming to his features.]

[It's stated quite plainly, although softly.]
Some things can be brought here, however. You know of the shards' power?
no subject
[The question isn't one Frederic knows the answer to, and he shakes his head.]
I do not.
no subject
[A low rumbling noise comes from deep in his throat.]
I am going to attempt to bring back creatures from my home of Skyrim soon.
no subject
[The information earns a bit of a wide-eyed stare, though.]
Is such an amazing thing truly possible?
[If it was, then Viola could have her goats back. It would be a small comfort from home for her.]

[It was nothing short of a miracle in Frederic's mind.]
So if I requested say... a piano, I could have one? So long as I have enough of these shards?
no subject
[Paarthurnax shifts his head from side to side, cracking his neck a bit.]
If you would care to see them, I venture out onto the Skyway each day to nir, hunt. I could take you with me, if you are strong of stomach, to see these shards.

[A wry smile crossed the man's lips at that, admittedly with a bit of possibly misplaced pride in the simple fact that being in Polka's world had given him fantastical powers that were otherwise impossible where he was originally from.]
I may not look it, but I am capable of battle.

[ANd in the mean time, he would continue to write in preparation for the day when he could put that music to keys once more.]
