Day 267 [Open] Magical Jerky Cows and shuffling booties

[It was just another day in the Bastion, helping make preparations for assisting the Ura that were in dire straits. But then, during lunch, Ibuki's cry of disbelief and amusement rang out loud and clear]

[Because she used the monument to create "magical jerky cows", and renovated one of the new buildings on the Bastion into a music venue.]

[... after her initial cry, Ibuki can be found in front of iBooty Shuffle, leaning against one of the chocolate jerky cows and...]

[... just... laughing. That's all she's doing. Laughing]

More than just amazing... it's magical!

And, and, look, we finally have our venue! We have a proper place to perform, the acoustics are perfect!!

It even has a recording studio!

[She's so happy she could hug somebody... so she glomphugs Ippo]

[And since he has no reason to deny or resist the glomp, he just kind of falls over laughing and returns the hug.]

I guess we do, huh? I don't think I've ever seen you this happy before...and I've seen you pretty happy!

[Her usual state of being was happy after all.]

...What about the cows though?

The cows!

Magical jerky cows!! That one has chocolate chip jerky!!

[She starts awkwardly pulling up Ippo to his feet while still maintaining the hug]

Come on, come on, you have to try it!

[Well, let it never be said that Ippo won't at least try things once, so he let himself get dragged up by Ibuki and pulled over to the strange looking cow. It seemed...pretty docile, all things considered, just kinda...doing it's own cow thing and going about what he could only assume was important cow business. Maybe it had a cow meeting to go to later?]

I know jerky is made from cows but...that doesn't sound the same as what you're suggesting.

[She peels off a strip of chocolate chip jerky from the cow, before poking it at Ippo's mouth]

It's weird and delicious, just like Ibuki!!

[He raised an eyebrow, but let this oddity slide in lieu of his brain still not being quite out of it's prior shock; instead, he opened his mouth and took a bite, letting the flavors mix a bit. The meat was savory and flavorful, as he'd expect from a higher end jerky...even a bit warm, though it had just been pulled off a living creature, so that was to be expected; the chocolate was rich and sweet, almost melty in a strange way...it gave an odd contrast to the meat itself, but it wasn't bad by any stretch of the word.

Strange. And probably not something he'd seek out on his own, but it wasn't disgusting and if offered, he could definitely eat a few sticks of it.]

Huh...I don't think I would have ever thought to mix chocolate and meat. It's not bad though.

It's better than bad! It's good!

But that's just Ibuki's personal opinion, of course.

And, and, for the people who don't like chocolate with their jerky, some of the cows have normal jerky!

Well...that's definitely forward thinking, but now we have to get the cows to the farm.

[Annnnnd he had no idea how to make cows go places. He didn't even know how to drive yet, this was beyond him. How even does take care of cow??]

[She's still... hugged onto Ippo, and she's not letting go despite implying she's going to do something...]

[And he stood still, watching and waiting for something to happen. Maybe Ibuki had some kind of magical cow song that made them follow her like a pied piper?]

Whoops! Ibuki became too attached!

[She finally releases Ippo]

Okay, okay, here cow-chan! Here!

[She starts nudging the cow along, and it seems fine with following her direction]

[Well...that worked! Ippo smiled and took his own shot at leading a cow along...which seemed to go just fine. It took the better part of an hour and a half, but eventually all the cows were comfortably grazing in the farm area, no worse for the exercise.]

Well...that wasn't so bad at all! I'm pretty sure there's some hay around here too, so keeping them fed won't be all too hard. Just a matter of making sure to get them in and out of the barn every day...and getting them water too...and milking them...and generally taking care of them.

[That list definitely grew a bit the more he thought about it.]

KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

WHAT HAS IBUKI DONE?!?!

IBUKI IS A CITY GIRL!!!!!!!!

[He flinched a little at the loud yelling, but held up his hands and waved them a bit in an attempt to get Ibuki to calm down a bit.]

I-it's fine, really! I mean, I'm already up early mornings, so I can add taking care of the cows to my routine. I've just gotta see if Colin has any videos on how to properly take care of them to make sure I understand all the important things.

But but... but...!

But Ibuki ruined our play time! She made our play time become less!! Now we'll have less play tiiiiiiiiiiiime!!!

Ibuki didn't think this one throuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh!!!

We could...always do it together? We could make it...a game of sorts even!

[His mom always told him that the best way to make a chore more bearable was to make a game of it...maybe this would be a good application of that?]

[Ibuki makes a weird sound at that... some kind of choked off sound of shock]

I... Ippo-chan...

G... genius...! But... but how? How do we make it a game, Ippo-chan?! Tell Ibuki the secret!

Hmm...

[He crossed is arms across his chest and dipped his head in thought, honestly thinking hard about how he could possibly make this fun. And then it hit him.]

I've got it! For everything we get done over the course of the day, we'll make a point system! And we'll keep a chart at home, so we can keep track!! And then, we can make a list of rewards we can spend our points on!!!

[He sounded really into the idea and actually rather proud of himself for thinking of it.]

But but but...

... but but...

... but...

... what's the point-

GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!

Yeah, yeahyeah, let's do that!

The point thing!

We'll see who can get the most points!

[Ippo gets another hug... please ignore her bad pun earlier, Ippo]

[At first he was worried that she didn't like the idea...but then he realized she was joking and he even got a hug out of the deal, how could he not smile? It was a pretty good joke after all.]

It'll be fun and it gets easier once you get into the habit of doing it, so that works in our favor too! We might have to add bonus challenges down the line to keep things interesting!

We can have a milk fight! Udderly ridiculous!

This is so weird, Ibuki is becoming a farm girl! But she's a city girl... this is all just a huge setup for a bad comedy, now! Kyaaa!

Well...if you're here, I wouldn't say it's bad.

[He smiled and gave her a few head pats, there was just something incredibly endearing about Ibuki.]
