[Day 225] [EVENT] A sinking feeling
Who: Anyone and everyone
Open: Open
When: Early morning on Day 225
Where: Everywhere in the Bastion
What: Remember how cores used to be a thing? Yeah, they're still important.
Format: any
Warnings: terrible modpuns
[Early in the morning on Day 225, most people are probably asleep. For the couple of stragglers who may still be awake so late, though, they may notice something strange. At 2:31 am, any lights that are on start to hum, and flicker in and out of dimness.
At 2:32 am, every light in the Bastion (excluding the emergency lights) shuts off entirely.
At 2:33 am, a horrible grinding noise can be heard throughout the Bastion, seemingly coming from everywhere at once. This sound continues on for several minutes, throughout everything else that begins to happen.
At 2:34 am, for anyone outside Nathaniel can be seen running from the Apartments towards the Monument as if his life depended on it.
At 2:35 am, ever so slowly, sections of the Bastion begin to sink.
What do you do?]

Take this, I want it back when I catch up with you. I can see fine without it.
Start towards the docks, and watch your step. I'll catch up with you shortly, this shouldn't take more than a minute. And if you need me to carry you, don't let pride get in the way or we're both going to die.
[Yep, Colin's off like a shot to Duke's hospital room.

And Colin will probably find her about halfway there, flashlight bobbing as she tries to catch her breath around coughing. The knight is stubbornly taking a step when she feels like she can, but slow. Running is not a thing, and it is making her pretty upset with herself. ]
no subject
Damn, your lungs are still weak. Okay...
[He's got her sword in one hand, and the largest pitcher of water he could find in the other.]
I had a feeling you might need this. Drink, now. You can complain to me about the treatment when we've got you on the barge.
[Colin holds out the pitcher to her.]
no subject
She passes him his flashlight back, takes the pitcher, and does her best to not choke as she drinks. Because coughing and rapid breathing and drinking at the same time? Sure. ]
no subject
I don't expect you'll have cause to use this, but keep it with you at all times.
[And once Duke takes the sword... Colin's going to scoop her up in his arms.]
This will be faster and less likely to aggravate your lungs. Just hold onto your things, I'll get you to the barge.
no subject
Not that she's terribly sure she could be much use with her sword at the moment, as attempting to run has proven.
Also baleful cat look, Colin. That is all Duke is going to do about this picking up thing. Baleful cat look, and holding the pitcher so it doesn't spill everywhere.
As much as it was tempting. ]
no subject
I know, I know. Deal with it. You can complain when you're to safety.
[And with that, Colin starts running. And he's not terribly worried about the water spilling over him.]
no subject
Okay, fine, Visual Complaint. ]
More wanting to complain about my health. [ She would rather be able to run thanks. So about the necessity of this.
Also she won't dump it on him. Because who knows how the water is on the skyway. And because she doesn't want a wet side. ]
