Yet another torch arrives in the wee morning hours, this one decorated with chains.

Today, the eldest of the Bastion and the youngest of the Bastion are gifted with another charm for their bracelets.

As for games, it seems to be strategy games all over the place! Games much like Earthly counterparts, such as Go, Shogi, Mahjong, Chess (even a 3D chess-like game, should you be so brave as to try it), Checkers, Risk (et al). Winners of these games will get a few more shards to add to their respective collections.

And there will also be a massive tower in the center of the Bastion, designed much like a climbing wall. Get to the top and retrieve the pendant in the set amount of time, and you'll earn another charm towards your bracelet!

As an extra to the ladies of the Bastion, there will be two special things exclusively for them - first off, Pyth will only be usable by ladies. Anyone who identifies as male will simply not receive a reaction from Ptyh should they step in to the pit. AND there will also be a special tug of war game for ladies only, using a chain. Acobi is the God of Abandon, and as such women will be free to do whatever they want today, regardless of their upbringing or beliefs. Go nuts, girls! The girls who win the tug of war will also get another charm, as well as two shards per person on the team that wins.

Evening will bring the next torch, this one adorned with a tower, and a massive feast of much healthier food and drink than what's been offered up until. Even if you eat and drink a great deal, you'll find yourself lacking any hangovers or stomach aches the following morning.

The soft music that's been playing every day of the festival will suddenly quit at around "5pm", and the remainder of the night will be filled with live music played by the NPCs, and even a few PCs should they choose to join in. The music will be in the gazebo with seats set up all around it like an outdoor performance stage, but with enough room up front for spontaneous dancing.

The night ends with this joyful celebration to close out the festival.

[ Whether O'danya can deal with the idea of a dragon for company, Daphnes suddenly begins to flap his flightless wings, warking in distress at such a large and intimidating creature suddenly so close. O'danya tightens her hold on the reins and begins trying to calm him down, while at the same time wondering if there's a safe direction to send the chocobo should she need to draw her bow and fight. Towards Colin, perhaps? He at least seemed fond of Daphnes; it might be her best bet. ]

Shh, Daphnes, no. Calm yourself, there is no threat... Just a very large monster. You've passed by scores of those before. Hush now.

[Well, that commotion certainly draws his attention, long neck twisting as he sees the source of the sound. Ah, he sees. The dragon takes in a breath.]

[It's said suddenly and loudly, something that would normally make any beast take off especially when coming from such a loud predator. But Kyne's Peace is a Shout meant to calm beasts, whether in fight or in flight, meant to sink into them and bring about calmness. The first word... should be enough, he thinks.]

[Either way, he settles and nods to both rider and steed.]

Krosis, the creatures of this place have grown used to my presence and I to theirs. I did not mean to startle your steed. That is my mistake.

[ O'danya stills along with Daphnes, observing her now-calmed mount in concern. Her eyes track to Paarthurnax with a whole lot of wariness. The speaking dragon was mentioned, but she still cannot shake the instinct of defending herself. ]

You've enchanted him. Is such magic permanent?

Niid. It shall wear off soon enough. It was only one Word- such things are short lived. Yet in that time, I hope that he will understand I wish no harm.

[He says it all calmly, not seeming to take any offense at how the other is defensive. There could be far worse reactions, after all.]

It may take longer than a single spell.

[ She is still worried for Daphnes, but as long as the dragon makes no further move and her mount isn't about to disappear into the personally-unexplored regions of this Bastion, she can be civil about it. ]

I've heard of you, though I apologize for not remembering your name. It was said you were less inclined toward mindless conquer and destruction as others of your kind may be.

That is how it often is.

[Just an accepting nod before she starts to talk of his kin.]

Ah, if you have met my kin, then there is well reason to worry. I am afraid not many have accepted my way of life. It is unfortunate.

That is a diplomatic way of putting it.

Long as you continue to follow your own example, I believe we can come to a peaceful arrangement. Mine own temperament is not so suited to speaking with beasts rather than slaying them, I'm afraid.

I hope that you will learn to do so, then. Some have become fond of me in this place. I do not believe they would take kindly to an attack against me, even if well met.

[This isn't a threat, either. He's just being honest and not wanting her to get into a fight with Crona or Ryu.]

Geh, I am Paarthurnax. The others of my kind have called me Wuth Gein if such a thing is simpler for you... [Ah.] Colin has taken to calling me "Paar" as well.

Paarthurnax is no trouble. The name befits the creature, I should say. "Paar" doesn't quite have the same weight to it.

[wayofvoice]

[He gives an amused huff through his nostrils.]

You have spoken to Colin, then.

Yes, I certainly have. He is the one who showed me and one other the way to this sanctuary. By your reaction, I take it he is well-liked here?

[wayofvoice]

It depends on to whom you speak. He is clever and desires to help... but he is an eccentric individual at times and on occasion does not hold his own words back.

I have enjoyed my conversations with him, and I know he is reliable in his trade.

I've met those of whom the same could be said. He seemed rather harmless overall.

What trade does he work in?

He is an inventor. Smith. He creates many things and takes much pleasure in the act.

As well he should. Such a profession would be very useful in these parts. Smithing is not one of my own skills, but many fascinating things come from the trade.

Quite. He is constantly creating things for the Bastion. We are fortunate he arrived here. Such talent is difficult to come across even in more favorable circumstances.
