[So the past few days in the Bastion have been very hectic and a little more than emotionally stressful for everyone. About two days have come and gone since the last very large batch of arrivals have come in to the Bastion, and thankfully since then it's been relatively quiet. It's a good time to compress, meet some new people and maybe have some good food at the distillery courtesy of Rin.]

[ Viola grabbed the towel behind her and covered herself with it was she rose from the water, trying to find cover at the same time that the plant creature ran off. She stood at ready (or, rather, as ready as one could stand while holding a towel). ]

[ But after a few seconds, she noticed two things. First was that Arco, awakened by the shrieking, hadn't run away like he normally did in the presence of monsters. Second was that the plant creature was... cowering? It looked like it was as scared of Viola as Viola was of it. ]

[ Amidst the tension, Arco climbed out of the basket containing Viola's clothes and approached the plant slowly. He crawled under the bench that it was hiding behind and sniffed it, bushy tail swishing back and forth. He didn't seemed bothered in the slightest--more that he was curious above all else. ]

[ Lilil really didn't mean any harm. Really. When Arco came over to her, she knelt down a little bit, reaching out to the furry little thing and letting him sniff her. She was feeling a little less threatened now that she had a potential friend over here who wasn't freaking out. ]

[ Arco sniffed Lilil's outstretched leaf for a moment. Not finding her threatening, he leaped up onto her and climbed up to the top of her head where he could sniff the big flower. It smelled good, almost good enough to eat! But it was also alive and moving and making noises, so Arco concluded that it was not actually food. He seated himself contently on the top of Lilil's head and began washing his face. ]

[ Awww, she made a new friend! After Arco was safely nestled on her head flower, she stood up fully from behind the bench, looking to Viola and seeing if maybe she was a bit more calm now.

Friends, Viola? ]

[ Viola stood motionless in the bath while Arco investigated the strange creature, holding her breath in apprehension. One false move against Arco and Viola likely would have dive-tackled the creature. ]

[ Fortunately, no such thing occurred, and Arco gave his motion of approval by settling himself on top of Lilil's flower. ]

[ Viola lowered her guard, visibly relaxing and allowing herself to breathe. ]

So, I guess you're not actually here to attack anybody. [ She said to the flower. ]

[ Lilil shook her head, carefully, so that her new friend wouldn't fall off. She wandered over a little closer to Viola, though she didn't get too close for the time being. She really wanted to ease into this. Arco was a great help with that. ]

Lil!

[ She said, with as much of a smile as a Lilligant could get. Her trainer was just incapacitated for the time being. ]

[ That was a cute little noise, Viola had to admit. Certain by now that Lilil meant no harm, Viola lowered herself back into the bath, sighing as the warm water washed over her chilled skin. Placing the towel behind her, she watched the plant with interest. ]

Sorry for screaming at you. [ She offered. Now that she knew that Lilil wasn't going to attack her, Viola didn't have any qualms about striking up a (mostly) one-sided conversation with it. There was nothing weird about talking to animals; she talked to Arco and her goats all the time. A sentient plant-creature was probably much the same. ]

[ Lilil moved a bit closer to the water and plopped herself down on the edge of the Onsen, being careful about the Arco on her head. She focused her attention on Viola and tried to keep the conversation going .... which wasn't easy, considering she couldn't speak human language, but possible. She and her trainer had proven that. ]

Lill, Lil~ligant!

[ Translation: "It's okay, it's not a problem." Being Team Mommy had made her a biiiit more patient with both people and Pokemon. ]

[ Viola was decently capable of understand animals in spite of the verbal communication barrier; she could read Arco's moods like a book. The inflection in Lilil's sounds made it a little easier, even. ]

I've never met a plant that could get up and move around on its own. [ She admitted. ] Not a friendly one, I mean.

[ Lilil stays where she's sitting and stares at Viola for a while. It's times like these when she dislikes the language barrier ... she can understand Viola perfectly fine, and it seemed as though Viola could understand her to an extent, too. Still, there was a lot she couldn't explain to her new friend. ]

Lil ...

[ She sighs. Language barriers, so troublesome. ]

[ Difficult indeed. But it seems like the plant understands her pretty well; that was pretty impressive. Maybe they could make that work. ]

I get the feeling you're not one of the locals. Did you just arrive?

[ She nods a little in response to that, once again careful not to knock Arco off of her head. She wanted to be able to explain that she arrived here with her trainer, but it was a little difficult for her to get into the specifics enough for Viola to understand her. ]

[ Viola could play this guessing game quite well. ]

You didn't come here alone, did you? [ Maybe it came with the big group that arrived the other day. ]

[ Oh, good! It seems as though this woman was pretty good at understanding her. Lilil brightened up a little. ]

Lil!

[ No, she didn't! ]

[ That sounds rather like an affirmation. ]

That's good. [ She could safely assume that Lilil had arrived two days ago with a particularly large group. This little one seems like it needs someone to look out for it. Viola couldn't bear the idea of Arco being left alone without her. ]

It's a lot easier to deal with things when friends are around. [ Nothing could be more true. ] How are your friends holding up?

[ Lilil nodded a little in response to that, but then she slumped at the next question. She pointed a leafy arm in the direction of the hospital, hoping Viola knew her way around here enough to know what she meant. ]

Lil~igant ...

[ Her poor trainer took a pretty nasty beating when they landed here. Hilda seemed to be recovering well, but Lilil was team mom, so of course she was worrying. ]

[ It took Viola a minute to realize in which direction Lilil was pointing; she didn't entirely have her bearings yet in this new place. ]

That way? Well, the hospital's over there--

[ Oh. Viola's countenance fell slightly. ]

Your friends got hurt, huh?

gant ...

[ She sounds sad, but that's as much of a confirmation as any. She was worried, despite knowing that her trainer was going to be just fine. ]

[ Seems rather like an affirmative to Viola. ]

They'll be all right. The healers here are really good! My friend Jazz got hurt when we arrived too and they fixed him up good as new.

[ That's a relief to know! She cheers up a little, but doesn't speak again just yet. She looks happier, anyway. ]
