Day 121 : [Partially closed and open]
Who: New arrivals + Old survivors
Open: (Part 1) Closed / (Part 2) Open
When: Day 121
Where: The Scrap Yard
What: Something new has appeared on the Skyway, and a lot of somethings have crash landed there. A handful of transports that were taking the experiments from Vatheon to the mainland have suddenly been spat out in to the Scrap Yard and no longer work. Confused and an eventual mad dash for the safety of the Bastion ensue.
Format: Any
Warnings: Probably violence and maybe injury
[There was a place, another world where people from many, many, many other worlds had been pulled to against their will. Unwilling experiments for a group of scientists and forced to live years in a bubble beneath the sea, they were told not that long ago that their time as experiments was coming to an end. Naturally those experiments fought back, and at the end of it all they won their freedom. Some choose to stay on the Vatheon mainland and live out the rest of their lives with people they had come to meet and love. Others decided to return to their homes to resume the lives they had lost. Either choice, they had to return to the mainland first, before anything else could be done.
But something went wrong with some of the ones being taken there. All at once their transports would simply... stop. And and bright flash of white light preceded... something like a very violent shudder of the entire world that would knock those unfortunate souls unconscious.
When they woke, they would find they were no longer in the sea that surrounded the land and the once-occupied bubble. They were still in their transports, if not a little tossed around and banged up considering the machines had been tossed rather haphazardly on top of a pile of... well... scrap. Metal, parts, some alien some not, some old some not so much. Just. Scrap.
Scrap and several large devices holding confused, possibly injured people on top of it.
The doors will open if pushed, but the front consoles that ran the things won't turn on at all.
This is your new world, transplants.
Good luck.]

[At Collin's words, Paarthurnax looks to where he is pointing. His long neck stretches and he stays silent for a moment.]
It is a new mass of land... Nii los ni riinur wah zey. I have not seen it before in my flights.
no subject
[Colin sighs, and squints.]
I wanna get over there. Something's agitating the monsters today. And I'm reading a LOT of metals and plastics that way. Maybe we've got a storage yard or something. It's worth checking out, I'd rather not come back with no salvage if we can help it.
He gives Paarthurnax a smile then.]
If you're agreeable, that is.
no subject
[The beasts had been aggravated at the presence of the shard, too, and Paarthurnax was well aware of what a mess that had been. They're simply a group of two. If something goes wrong, they will have to act far quicker than before.]
[With those thoughts in mind, Paarthurnax lowers his head again but keeps it outstretched. A horn brushes against Collin's arm.]
If we go, it may be best for you if you stayed atop of me.
[It's just common sense as far as he's concerned, after all. If there's another plant that drags you into nightmares, than Paarthurnax knows he has a better chance. It would take more of its gas to get into his large lungs, and he could simply rise above it. That makes him the safest place to be. He knows they cannot afford to lose anyone in the Bastion.]
no subject
Right. Thanks for the ride. I promise I won't abuse your trust.
[Colin moves to climb aboard Paarth, being mindful to avoid kicking him. He's done this before, several times in fact, but he's never been fond of riding living beings.]
Let's avoid any acrobatics unless we've gotta dodge anything. My head isn't in a state to handle multiple G's.
no subject
[Funny how quiet contemplation and isolation could calm a dovah down. Once Collin has stopped moving and seems to be more or less secure, Paarthurnax pushes himself down to the ground before heaving himself up into the air. A few flaps of his wings and he's airborne, gliding over the scattered pieces of land. He's learned by now not to fly past them over the void, so he makes his way along whatever paths connect that lead them to the new land. His nostrils flare a bit.]
I smell zal, salt- like the ocean. It is faint, however.
no subject
[He's calling out over the rushing wind, wincing against all the sensations. It's fast, which he's grateful for. He holds tightly to the Dragon's back, and now that they're airborne, he's got a MUCH better vantage point from which to scan.]
But now that I can see further, we've definitely got some sort of facility off in the distance! Lots of metal, lots of plastic, a fair amount of organic matter. A dump or a scrap yard, probably! Heat signatures and preliminary medical scans are showing several people down there, and it looks like something may have crashed down there.
[He's really wishing he had a better medical scanner in his eye. He would rarely have use for it at home, but here, it would be utterly invaluable. He knows there's people, and he knows they're mostly alive, but other than that, he can't tell more.]
no subject
[As they get closer and closer, Paarthurnax starts to slow his speed as much as he can while still in the air. His kind are often a worrying sight, and he doesn't want to start a panic before they know what they're dealing with.]
New arrivals, or perhaps other survivors?
no subject
Either way, the approaching shadow didn't go unnoticed by Zororak, and he stopped walking, craning his head up to see what it was. Teal eyes narrowed in to the hazy distance before he tugged on N's arm, pointing with a claw.
N! Look! Is that a dragon-type?
N's attention was drawn to the air, but a frown creased his features thoughtfully.]
That is no dragon Pokemon I have ever seen before.
[But--...]
There is some one riding it.
[And that was, hopefully, the help they needed to get back to Hilda. They both started to run forward, waving their arms about frantically, N hobbling some from the wound on his leg.]
Down here!
no subject
[He may not be good with his nose, but his hearing is top notch, and his eyes are pretty good, too. Plus, wearing white, N kinda stands out...]
We've got a contact down there!
no subject
[Paarthurnax dives down, aiming not too far from the unknown pair. One seems to be human, from what he can tell, and the other reminds him faintly of the Khajit. His wings flare out at the last moment, letting him land a bit more gently. As he shifts his long neck down to let Collin off, he calls to the pair.]
Drem yol lok. Are you two injured?
no subject
N shot a look at his companion, one that read heavily of disapproval at being awed by a dragon at a time like this. Yes, Paar was quite a sight to behold, but really, now was not the time to be gaping.
The teen shook his head to the question, though the leg of his pants did sport blood and an obvious tear. His shirt was equally stained, but there were less signs of injury to him there.]
I'm not, but my fri-- girlfriend [he still had yet to get used to calling Hilda that] is. I'm not sure what happened but our transports crashed here and she went through the windshield.
[N did not do panic well, and even though he spoke well, there was a rapidness to his words that may have made him hard to understand. His voice trembled as did his hands, and he sounded out of breath in spite of not walking all that far.]
no subject
[Colin slides off of Paarth's back with practiced ease, pausing for a moment to hold his head against his headache, but even that's taking a backseat to what he's heard.]
Wait, THROUGH? the windshield?!
Is she conscious? Does she have a pulse?
[The transports were important to him, but a life in danger was more important.]
no subject
I will go to her. [Monsters could show up at any point, after all. He's the best deterrent.] Where is she?
no subject
[N gestured with an arm back the way he came, to the odd horizon line of the Scrap Yard piled high with metal and other bits that jutted up in to the yellow sky.]
Zoroark, lead the dragon there. You're faster than I am.
[Right!
Zoroark nodded enthusiastically, turning and putting himself low to the ground. A second later and his powerful legs launched him forward, taking off down the Skyway with quick agile moves. On N's head, Swablu ruffled its cloud-like wings, mimicking Paar as if it wanted to take off with him. N stopped it before the bird could get far, though, knowing a baby Pokemon would not do well out there alone.
After that, N turned to Colin, not looking nearly as concerned as he had been a moment ago. Mainly because he still had trouble showing genuine worry for anyone who wasn't Hilda or a Pokemon.]
There... might be others. I don't know for sure. We were among the last group to leave the island...
no subject
I can probably treat some of her wounds, maybe set the bone, but I'm not a doctor.
[Colin looks at Paarthurnax worriedly]
Yeah, watch out for her. Maybe circle above, scare everything off. I don't know what's gonna happen if the creatures here smell blood... Whatever you think is best.
[He looks at N then]
Take me to her, I'll be right behind you.
no subject
[There are certainly a great deal of people here, now that he's getting closer and closer... But Paarthurnax keeps an eye out for a wounded girl, keeping relatively close to Zoroark.]
no subject
[The worry was back in his voice, strongly influenced by his feelings for Hilda. "What would I do if I lost her..." went through his head more than once.
But he did his best to not let it show too much, wanting to keep calm in the face of their uncertain situation.
Nodding, he turned and started back down the Skyway, assuming Colin would follow with what he said.
Ahead of them, Zoroark darted around the piles of rubble and scrap until skidding to a halt, approaching a girl lying prone on the ground next to one of the broken transports, another creature different from him near by her. He came up slow, nuzzling her cheek with another worried whine.]
no subject
As soon as Hilda came into sight, Colin ran his medical scan on her, verifying her vitals and trying to pinpoint her injuries. Unfortunately, it wasn't the best medical scanner by any means. Fortunately, it could detect a broken bone well enough...
He immediately pulled a mid-sized kit out of one of his pants pockets and opened it, rifling through it as he moved to Hilda's side.]
Hey there, ma'am. I'm Colin Starfury, your boyfriend found us and we're here to help. How are you feeling?
no subject
Is it friendly? She asked her friend.
Hilda's eyes had been closed, and she had been focusing on breathing and ... not worrying about N, frankly. When Zoroark returned, she opened her eyes slowly and gave him a smile. ]
Hey. Where's N ...?
[ The question was soft, but Zoroark's hearing was good, she knew he could hear it. Not even a moment after, though, N returned with someone she didn't know. She barely caught what he was asking her.
She blinked her eyes a few times, wearily, and started to respond. ]
Everything hurts.
[ Nope, not going to lie about that. ]
no subject
[N's voice came from Colin's side as he approached a little behind him in pace. With Paar watching the skies above them, Zoroark and N relaxed a little. They were still worried about Hilda, naturally, but they were more willing to focus on her than any possible danger that might still approach so long as something could warn them ahead of time.
He knelt down next to her, carefully taking her uninjured hand in to his.]
They're going to help you, alright?
no subject
[So he stays up high, watching and guarding.]
no subject
[Colin is removing several pieces of medical equipment, both recognizeable and somewhat exotic, from the medkit.]
You've got a broken arm, and a lot of smaller wounds. I can set the arm, but we're going to need a sling for it, which I'll need someone to make while I treat your lacerations. You've also got some broken glass in your forehead, which we'll need to remove before I can bandage it up. But the good news is, you're alive, and definitely treatable. You're very lucky.
I hope you don't mind a little yelling, because I need to communicate with my partner up above.
[Colin gives N a glance]
N, right? Was there anything in your transport we can use to make a sling? It doesn't have to be fancy, but we need to keep her arm immobile until we can get her back to the hospital. There's no sense in setting the arm if it's just gonna flop around again.
[without waiting, Colin looks up at Paarthurnax]
Can you see anyone else? She's going to live, but she'll be a lot better off if we can get her to the hospital quickly!
no subject
Her name is Hilda. And I'll see what I can find.
[He answered for her, and then nodded to the suggestion of a sling, slipping away only for Zoroark to take his place at Hilda's side. The fox whined once more in worry, putting a clawed paw over her hand.]
no subject
Zoroark's whining caused her to want to try and calm him down somehow, though. She tried to turn her hand over beneath his paw and grasp onto it gently. It hurt, predictably, but she felt it had to be done. The Pokemon were part of their little family, too. ]
I'll be okay.
[ Her voice came out as a whisper, but again, she knew Zoroark and Lilil both could hear her. Lilil moved next to Zoroark, gazing down at her trainer worriedly. ]
He says I'm going to be okay. Don't worry.
no subject
Greh, I spotted others- even those from the Bastion. They can care for the rest of the survivors, and you all as well. [He rolls his head a bit to get the kinks out from his long neck.] I can take her to the Bastion if speed is required.
