[So the past few days in the Bastion have been very hectic and a little more than emotionally stressful for everyone. About two days have come and gone since the last very large batch of arrivals have come in to the Bastion, and thankfully since then it's been relatively quiet. It's a good time to compress, meet some new people and maybe have some good food at the distillery courtesy of Rin.]

[Roxas has been spending most of his time with his friend in the hospital and not taken to exploring much yet or being very social. Finding out you're in the End of the Worlds is something to chew on, too. It's not an unfamiliar scenario, except that it wasn't caused by Heartless, so even as a keyblade master, he has no special ability to restore the fragmented worlds. And what about the worlds that the rest of his friends call home? It feels strange to be in this position, without Sora.

But in the meantime, he does have three young chocobos to take care of. For a time in the afternoon, he can be found with them in the field not far from the hospital, just sitting and thinking while they play nearby.]

[Saix's footsteps are probably able to be heard before his words are.]

Is Axel recovering adequately then?

[Roxas glances up. Way up. Why are you both so tall?]

Yeah, he's gonna be all right. Hopefully he won't have to stay there too much longer.

[croceamors]

[Because they're not teenagers anymore, duh.]

Good. We'll need to bring him up to speed. [After a moment, Saix awkwardly sits down besides Roxas. This is how you be social in a good way, right?] Have you spent the entire time at the hospital, or have you explored this place somewhat?

[So you're saying when he hits 20, Roxas will also be a giant?

He eyes Saix curiously as he sits down. This is... strange. But his neck appreciates it.]

I- haven't been around much. Is there that much to see?

[croceamors]

There are some things of interest. There's a distillery with drinks that have unusual effects, a forge, and most interestingly the Bastion itself. It grows the more you locate objects called Shards- I heard rumor that it could do miraculous things if properly restored, but I would not put much faith in it. There didn't seem to be much basis for the idea.

Unusual effects? [Well, Axel did act kind of unusual when he got drunk that one time.]

Miraculous things... I don't think it'd be miraculous unless- it did something for things outside this place.

[croceamors]

Yes. One of them can supposedly gather things called 'shards' to you.

[So different than just plain drunk.]

Who knows? Still, the restoration of this place seems to be the important goal. Since we're here, we should be focusing our efforts on that.

[coolerthansora]

Yeah, I guess so.

[He frowns, watching the chocobos as they get into a playful scuffle.]

[croceamors]

[Huh, Roxas seems to be taking this worse than Saix honestly thought he would. Then again... Well, 'world ending' doesn't really carry the same weight as it used to for him.]

[...Maybe that should concern him.]

[Saix falls quiet for a moment as well before speaking up again.]

I've already situated myself on the seventh floor of the tower building. There's another apartment as well on the same floor that should be large enough for Axel and yourself. It would be beneficial if we all stayed together for now, considering the drastic change in our situation.

[coolerthansora]

[Living next door to Saix. Now there's a concept he never would have considered before. Still, he's been sort of different lately, as evinced by the fact that he's even sitting here conversing with him.]

Maybe. Axel'd probably like having you around.

[croceamors]

[This time it's Saix who frowns.]

I suppose he would.

[coolerthansora]

What? It was your idea.

[Why make that face?]

[croceamors]

I'm well aware. I don't have any issues with that.

[A part of him almost wants to leave it at that. Saix's relationships are still none of his business, aren't they? But... He recalls what Maka said, and how he had felt after she'd connected with him. All that Darkness.. Saix thins his lips.]

I don't understand him.

[coolerthansora]

He is kind of a weirdo.

...but, you know. You guys were friends. [Doesn't that part make sense at least?]

[croceamors]

We weren't for a while.

[A simple statement of fact. Saix doesn't mention that he's not even sure if they're honestly friends now, or can be.]

[coolerthansora]

So? It was important to him, and- maybe he can have it back again.

[Maybe. Roxas isn't convinced either.]

[croceamors]

[Saix says what they're both thinking.]

Maybe.

[coolerthansora]

Anyway, I'll- look into the apartment later.

[croceamors]

Alright.

[Saix gets up to his feet again.]

I still have some things I want to investigate. Keep me updated if anything changes with Axel.

[coolerthansora]

Right.

...and lemme know if you find out anything important. [Since they're allies and all, right?]

[croceamors]

I will.

[A nod, and then he sets off again. That went fairly well for a conversation, yes?]

[That may have been their most civil exchange yet. Remarkable.

And still totally weird, but it beats Saix trying to kill Axel by a long shot, so Roxas is just going to go with it.]
