[Day 205] It's the end of the world, get drunk

What: The Cael way of celebrating everyone not dying involves booze, so drink up! (Fun fact: the Cael way of mourning may also involve booze.)

Warnings: Drunken shenanigans, likely. Also feel free to treat this like a mingle thread and not just talking to Georges! (Although he'll try to chat with everyone if he can)


So, just to double check: A cure has been found? Everyone's recovered? No one's dead? It's safe to leave the house now? Excellent.

With this fact well known, one can find Georges starting off his morning not hanging about the bar (as is his custom as the only bartender in the Bastion) but in fact setting up something in front of the Monument. Tables, chairs, some blankets to sit on when those inevitably run out... There's also something of a makeshift bar area, a variety of liquor in fascinating bottles set up along with some glasses.

Everything is all finished up around the afternoon, and Georges goes behind his little makeshift table-bar to cup his hands around his mouth so he can yell-

"DRINKS ON THE HOUSE!"

...What do you mean he technically never makes anyone pay for booze at the end of the world? Just come up and have a drink, Georges will be happy to recommend something. Or maybe bother someone else having a drink?

[ She nods in response to that, happy that he was safe during it all. ]

I was on the initial expedition, but I didn't get infected. I ended up spending my time helping those who were.

[ ... yeah, lifting the air sounds like a good idea. ]

I'm not really sure what I expected when I came here. I guess the idea of a drink doesn't sound bad, though ... what about you? Are you going to drink something?

[ Well, he was much the same by coming here. No real point other being attracted by the gathering, but hey. No problem with that. ]

Sure. [ And staying to drink didn't sound bad. Maybe. ] Do you know what they serve? I've never been to the bar here.

[spiria]

[ This could either be great or terrible. We're not sure yet. ]

I don't know. I just got here not too long ago myself. We could go find out, though? They're offering free drinks, so we should probably take advantage of that!

[ She starts to make her way over to the bar at that point, gesturing for her friend to follow her. The only way they were going to find out what was going on was if they went and found out themselves. ]

Haha- then let's go.

[ Surely a bar has normal type drinks too! And food probably. Except this is an outside bar so the food part is probably getting excluded.

Of course, once they get to the makeshift bar, everything on there looks...... weird. Mostly all very classic signs of This Is Alcohol, but wow. Red's not so sure about this plan now...! ]

Huh... ...weird bottles. [ Yeah. ]

[ She hasn't really had a lot of alcohol in her lifetime, either, and she's absolutely sure that Red would probably need something that wasn't alcoholic. She looks things over a little more. ]

Maybe we should ask the bartender himself? Though with him giving things out for free, he's probably really busy.

I can ask if you want. It's better than guessing.

[ It's not that Red doesn't mind being ~adventurous~, but he doesn't feel like being so with this right now. And it doesn't sound like Kohaku wants to take a gamble either, so-! ]

[ Yeah, she's a little unsure about alcohol herself. If they could find something that doesn't have as much or none at all, that'd be super. ]

[ And off Red will go to speak to that very very lively bar dude with the hair on his chinny chin chin. Being the social person that guy is, it does take a some minutes for red to get the turn to speak to him.

But after that, Red will be coming back over to the table where they had been standing at. Hopefully you're still there Kohaku, so Red can look at the different bottles for the one described.

[ She's still here! It's not like she has anywhere else to go. 'Sides, she's not gonna ditch her buddy. ]

What did he say?

[ Her not-10 year old buddy. ]

Leechade. [ He's eyeing the different bottles available on the table. ] It's supposed to be in a...

[ Ah, here we go! He picks up the bottle, and then another with it. ] Here. This one, I think. But he said it's meant to be bitter.

[ He glances at her, smiling a tiny bit. ] Do we dare?

[ how many times can I apologize for that sheesh!!

She looks to the bottle, then to him, then back at the bottle ... ]

... We may as well!

[ It's worth a try, isn't it? ]

[ Not enough times tbh. Here, Red will hold out the second bottle to her. ARE YOU READY FOR THIS, BUDDY? THERE'S NO GOING BACK. FINAL DESTINATION RIGHT HERE.

WE ARE LIVING THE LIFE AT THE END OF ALL WORLDS. ]

'Bottoms up', right? [ He thinks that's how that goes. BUT EITHER WAY... ]

[ OKAY HERE WE GO. LET'S DRINK THE THING. ]

What follows after a drink is a face. It's a face where one isn't sure if they should have this thing in their mouth, though they're above spitting out the contents all over the other drinks that sit in front of them.

So Red ends up on sitting on the taste for a sweet moment before he decides yeah, okay, if he dies from drinking this then his passing will bring on a warning to others. Please take care of his pokémon.

... and you know what, drinking it down does nothing to get rid of the flavour. Let him just... look to Kohaku...

[ She's alive, but she's not really sure if she likes the drink. It's ... strange. But it's kind of good in it's own way?

Kohaku looks back over toward Red. ]

... What do you think of it?

[ Just.... just give him a moment. A good moment. Strong face now guys. ]

... Yeah. [ Yeah, that's a good response. He looks back down to the bottle, then sits it down onto the table. ]

...I'll stick to water. [ He's not for this life, apparently. ]

[ She shrugs and giggles a bit. ]

I probably will too. It's not bad, it's just ... strange.

[ It's okay bro, we both gave it a try. ]

[ We are truly champions no matter what. ]

Well, as long as the other people appreciate it. [ It's not like he got sick, so, he can't see while it matters if he enjoys it or not. If that's what this whole thing was for anyway.

But saying that, he looks at the others that have come for the free drinks. It's not the most biggest crowd he's ever seen in his life, but right now, in this place, it's nice to see a group of people all the same. ] Do you see anyone you know here yet?

[ She takes a look around and tries to pick out someone she knows. Sadly, she does not see anyone. ]

No. I don't know too many people here just yet, though, so that's probably got something to do with it.

[ ahh, he feels you bro. Though he has his pokémon, so it's not such a big deal to him. ]

If you wanted to get a drink of something easier on the tongue, I have something I thought I could show you. It's to do with pokémon back in my world. [ Which prompts the question- ] Did you ever end up meeting any of the other trainers?

Ah ... no, only you. I've gone by the house a few times and seen the little ones, but I've never actually met any of the others ...

[ She smiles, sheepish. ]

What's this drink, though?

[ Hey, no big deal. It's not like she was obligated to or anything! But as for that drink? ]

[ She's kind of amused by that. ]

Course I have. You built it up to sound like something different, though.

[ Yes, hey there captain obvious. ]

No, [ haha ] it's just that there's plenty of it available at the apartments, and that's where I keep my stuff.

-- oh, but what I was talking about before wasn't just a drink. [ In case it sounded like it. ] I have a device with me; it's a digital encyclopaedia on pokémon. You sounded interested before about pokémon, so I thought you might like a look. [ a small shrug! ]
