The Bastion and the amulets act as translators for the spoken word, but not the written one, don't they? If you wrote something done, only other people from your world would understand it. Right?

I can read all of these- they're Caelondian. Every single word I've read in here so far has been something I've been able to read.

[He'll let the realization of what that means sink in for her.]

Nathaniel said that this didn't look like it belonged, like it was from another world. If these are all written by people who know Caelondian, then they can't be from another world.

Caels didn't have radio technology did they?! That's somethin' from my world!

[And probably others but hey small victories that she figured out that much.]

These people must not have been able to find the Bastion... but they found this instead...

One of the letters mentions that this group helped someone, and they brought with them the plague.

Is it--... I mean there's diseases in my world that are pretty bad if they don't get treated. A-are you sure it's... the same one?

...Fairly certain. I'm hoping that by reading through some of the letters, I can find something that describes the symptoms and see if they're the same.

It may take a while, especially with little light. You should wait outside, Rin.

[Well more like "let her come in without freaking out" but she's waiting to see how long he's going to keep that up before just stepping in anyway.]

I don't get sick. ... I mean I don't--... don't pick up illness or whatever. Even when other kids in school were comin' down with crap, I never got it. And that was before my powers unlocked. The only time I've ever had a problem was after that crap at the observatory, but that was my powers bein' affected.

For whatever reason, bein' a demon also means fightin' everythin' off that comes around. If you're immune 'cause you've been around it already, I'm immune because that's just how my body is.
