Yet another torch arrives in the wee morning hours, this one decorated with chains.

Today, the eldest of the Bastion and the youngest of the Bastion are gifted with another charm for their bracelets.

As for games, it seems to be strategy games all over the place! Games much like Earthly counterparts, such as Go, Shogi, Mahjong, Chess (even a 3D chess-like game, should you be so brave as to try it), Checkers, Risk (et al). Winners of these games will get a few more shards to add to their respective collections.

And there will also be a massive tower in the center of the Bastion, designed much like a climbing wall. Get to the top and retrieve the pendant in the set amount of time, and you'll earn another charm towards your bracelet!

As an extra to the ladies of the Bastion, there will be two special things exclusively for them - first off, Pyth will only be usable by ladies. Anyone who identifies as male will simply not receive a reaction from Ptyh should they step in to the pit. AND there will also be a special tug of war game for ladies only, using a chain. Acobi is the God of Abandon, and as such women will be free to do whatever they want today, regardless of their upbringing or beliefs. Go nuts, girls! The girls who win the tug of war will also get another charm, as well as two shards per person on the team that wins.

Evening will bring the next torch, this one adorned with a tower, and a massive feast of much healthier food and drink than what's been offered up until. Even if you eat and drink a great deal, you'll find yourself lacking any hangovers or stomach aches the following morning.

The soft music that's been playing every day of the festival will suddenly quit at around "5pm", and the remainder of the night will be filled with live music played by the NPCs, and even a few PCs should they choose to join in. The music will be in the gazebo with seats set up all around it like an outdoor performance stage, but with enough room up front for spontaneous dancing.

The night ends with this joyful celebration to close out the festival.

I'd like that. There's a lot of things that I want to learn that I never got the chance to at home. I've ridden a whelk, but it's not the same as a horse or a chocobo.

Oh, yeah, let me get Unfezant out ...

[ She takes a pokeball from her belt and calls him out. There is now a bird pokemon standing next to Hilda. He stretches his wings and makes a happy sound. Hilda knelt down and pet him for a moment, then stood again and offered her other hand to Daphnes. ]

This is Unfezant. He's one of my best friends.

[ She says that about all of her Pokemon. ]

Unfezant, say hello! Meet Daphnes and Ms. O'danya.

[ Unfezant makes another sound that seems as though he's greeting them, and Hilda smiles. Unfezant is usually fairly quiet and calm, but he's definitely interested to see another bird! ]

We'll first have to obtain permission from whoever is in charge of their care. Provided we can acquire their favor, I've no problems with giving you instruction. They do quite a lot of the work on their own, but a good rider never leaves all the work up to their mount.

Yes, I certainly have. He is the one who showed me and one other the way to this sanctuary. By your reaction, I take it he is well-liked here?

[ O'danya takes a staggered step back at the magic of the pokéball. Daphnes makes a similar motion, though O'danya is quick to calm him. It was like arcanism without the arcane texts required to channel the magic. ]

What sort of magic was that? I've never seen the like!

[ Daphnes meanwhile stands wary, but again reaches his neck out to Hilda's waiting hand. He does seem rather curious about the new creature in front of him that doesn't appear to be some kind of beast... Kwehhh? ]

Well yeah. And it's important to know how to take care of them, too. I really like all kinds of animals.

It depends on to whom you speak. He is clever and desires to help... but he is an eccentric individual at times and on occasion does not hold his own words back.

I have enjoyed my conversations with him, and I know he is reliable in his trade.

Oh, the Pokeball? We use them in our world, to hold our Pokemon. Don't ask me the specifics of how it works, though, I definitely wouldn't be able to tell you that.

[ Hilda pets Daphnes again as he lets her, and Unfezant ruffles his feathers a bit in his own curiosity. ]

[paeon]

Oh, do you? Have you any pets? [ She pauses. ] Here or previously, I suppose.

[paeon]

I've met those of whom the same could be said. He seemed rather harmless overall.

What trade does he work in?

[paeon]

Your... pohkaymon? They need special containment?

[ Daphnes ruffles his own feathers to match Unfezant. His are bigger! ]

It's not so much necessary as it is more a convenience. We're able to carry six of them at a time with us when we travel.

My boyfriend's only got two of them, though, and they usually wander around freely.

[ Yours are bigger, Daphnes! That is impressive! But we all know bigger doesn't always mean better-- no, Unfezant, don't turn this into a competition! He's ruffling his feathers again. ]

He is an inventor. Smith. He creates many things and takes much pleasure in the act.

We were always moving, so not really... but I got to ride a whelk for a while and it was really nice.

[paeon]

What manner of creature is a whelk?

[ Hopefully nothing like a horse. O'danya is sure she must still have those hats somewhere to prove how odd an event the uma bugyo's arrival in Eorzea was. ]

As well he should. Such a profession would be very useful in these parts. Smithing is not one of my own skills, but many fascinating things come from the trade.

[paeon]

Only six? You could carry an entire menagerie with such items.

[ Daphnes lets his wings fluff out and lightly stamps his talons a few times. Look at how majestic he is! Look at how well-behaved! ]

Quite. He is constantly creating things for the Bastion. We are fortunate he arrived here. Such talent is difficult to come across even in more favorable circumstances.

[amnesiadragon]

Whelks are kind of like... um...

[How do you even describe a whelk?]

They look kind of like a snail shell, with a face on the end. They float, and you can ride them.

[ourlegends]

[ She laughs a little, sheepish. ]

Only six ... if any more of them are caught, they are sent to a PC program for storage and we have to store one of our active six if we want to take any others out.

Of course, I can't do that anymore ...

[ He sees and he is impressed! He also tries to imitate what Daphnes is doing for himself, stamping his talons and fluffing his wings. They're both pretty birdies. ]
