For the past week or so, it may feel like to some that the Bastion is gearing up for something. And not anything bad, either. Something good and oh so needed. It's not just the people, the Caels and the Ura that are aware of what the coming days would mean if the world was still intact. It's like the very Bastion itself has suddenly gained new life, and there's a power over it that's greater than any person, creature or Core.

Anyone who is still awake as dawn breaks over the Bastion may find themselves inexplicably tired for no reason at all, and unable to give in to an intense need to close their eyes, just for a moment.

When everyone wakes, and I do mean everyone, the Bastion will be transformed. Decorations, lights strung across every angle, wreaths, tables with colorful cloths over them, streamers and banners and so much stuff just seemingly out of nowhere! The entire Bastion, suddenly a vibrant, beautiful place for a celebration. And not just any celebration.

They attacked using dice and cards, much like their master who was more on my level as a Nobody. His 'title' was 'The Gambler of Fate'.

[Saix keeps Xemnas in mind as a guide of things he shouldn't do, really. Mostly "never be full of that much purple prose".]

I'm having trouble picturing you as a fortune-teller.

I'm afraid his reasoning was always lost on me as well, but I didn't care to argue with the man.

Maybe he just liked the word and wanted some excuse to use it.

I would really like to delude myself into believing that is not the reason, but he might very well be that insane...

You have an awfully low threshold for defining insanity.

...I just really don't like him.

I think it's standard practice to dislike your boss.

Especially ones who monologue.

You mean like those comic book supervillains?

Yes, but a bit more... philosophical at times. Which made it all the more annoying, to be quite frank.

I think I can promise that I will never monologue about philosophy. Unless it's to complain about how useless it is.

It is one of your greatest selling points, I will admit that.

What would you consider the other ones to be?

If you're looking for a compliment on your body, then I'd just like to take a moment to say that the night when we decided to get drunk together is still fuzzy in some parts and I'm not sure of the details.

But you are clever, and I do like your sense of humor.

I think this is one of those times where, if we were in a situation comedy, I would take advantage of your memory lapse to make up something to embarrass you. Like, "so you don't remember touching my breasts?"

I already know I look fabulous, by the way, so I'm happy enough with "clever."

[That ends the compliment portion of this conversation then. Which is good, because Saix wrinkles his nose at the mention of them being in a comedy.]

I think me being in any sort of comedy could only lead to disaster.

I suppose you have a point. [Actually-] I think I remember pretty much doing that when I was younger.

[She may... actually mean that literally. It's hard to tell.]

My best friend was the more outgoing type. I was... snarky at best.
