Let the Festival Begin [Day 143 | Day 144]
Who: EVERYONE
Open: Open
When: Day 143 & 144
Where: All over the Bastion
What: The first two days of the Harvest Festival
Format Any
Warnings: None
For the past week or so, it may feel like to some that the Bastion is gearing up for something. And not anything bad, either. Something good and oh so needed. It's not just the people, the Caels and the Ura that are aware of what the coming days would mean if the world was still intact. It's like the very Bastion itself has suddenly gained new life, and there's a power over it that's greater than any person, creature or Core.
Anyone who is still awake as dawn breaks over the Bastion may find themselves inexplicably tired for no reason at all, and unable to give in to an intense need to close their eyes, just for a moment.
When everyone wakes, and I do mean everyone, the Bastion will be transformed. Decorations, lights strung across every angle, wreaths, tables with colorful cloths over them, streamers and banners and so much stuff just seemingly out of nowhere! The entire Bastion, suddenly a vibrant, beautiful place for a celebration. And not just any celebration.

The Harvest Festival!

I feel completely out of my element. A celebration that I'm not playing for... it doesn't seem right for me in the least.

Why? Because you're used to being the center of attention? [ Frederic, that is so vain. ]
no subject
As arrogant as it sounds, yes.
no subject
Wait, you're serious? You're the star at every party you go to?
no subject
And to be quite honest... I preferred playing these events over being social. Music speaks for me better than my words ever could.
no subject
You should get up and sing then. Everybody'd be paying attention to you in no time!
[ She beams. Clearly this is the best idea. ]
no subject
Oh no, no no. I do not sing. At most I hum a tune. No one wants to hear me sing.

[ She offers him her drink, a half-emptied glass of Cinderblock Stout. ] I'll even share my courage with you if it helps.

He scowls a bit at the thought of singing anything at all. It would sound terrible! He's so sure of it.
But she is offering...]
I... wouldn't want to take your drink away from you, Viola.

Offended enough to glare at the drink, and then snag it in a fashion very unbecoming of him. He has played in certain circles that catered to some of the rougher, less refined crowds and he was no stranger to those that chug their drinks like water.
... not that he was any good at it. The effort results in a round of coughing once he's got about half of what remained down.]
Good Lord in Heaven that is vile--!
