Let the Festival Begin [Day 143 | Day 144]
Who: EVERYONE
Open: Open
When: Day 143 & 144
Where: All over the Bastion
What: The first two days of the Harvest Festival
Format Any
Warnings: None
For the past week or so, it may feel like to some that the Bastion is gearing up for something. And not anything bad, either. Something good and oh so needed. It's not just the people, the Caels and the Ura that are aware of what the coming days would mean if the world was still intact. It's like the very Bastion itself has suddenly gained new life, and there's a power over it that's greater than any person, creature or Core.
Anyone who is still awake as dawn breaks over the Bastion may find themselves inexplicably tired for no reason at all, and unable to give in to an intense need to close their eyes, just for a moment.
When everyone wakes, and I do mean everyone, the Bastion will be transformed. Decorations, lights strung across every angle, wreaths, tables with colorful cloths over them, streamers and banners and so much stuff just seemingly out of nowhere! The entire Bastion, suddenly a vibrant, beautiful place for a celebration. And not just any celebration.

...Feeling better?

[He didn't take his eyes off of his food or drink, but he took the time to make sure his mouth was clear before speaking; his mother had at least taught him some manners in the time she was around. Besides, Zulf had been nothing but polite with him, so he felt it prudent to return the favor.]

[He's not been much of a heavy eater like most of the others who've visited the table, but Zulf reaches over to start to put actual meat and bread on his plate. It feels strange to be at a table such as this and not partake. Besides, Roathus might take it as an insult.]
This place never ceases to surprise me...

[He tore into a turkey leg nearest him and began to devour the unfortunate bit of bird. It tasted absolutely delicious and he almost lost himself for a few moments before he realized he was gnawing on a bone...food was going quick, but there always seemed to be more hiding behind it.]
At least 's a nice surprise this time.

[If you counted the Day of Rest anyway. Zulf has too much of a connection to the Lorn Mother to want to keep it out.]

[He took hold of another piece of meat, not quite taking the time to see what exactly it was before tucking into it. It definitely tasted like ham...though with the Hearty Punch in his mouth, he could be wrong; either way, it was delicious. The Kid had always had a large appetite for someone his size; just rarely ever had the ability to exercise it was all.]

[Last minute, at any rate. Amazing how well that could work.]

[It sure wasn't any of his doing. He simply went places and just so happened to be on the right end of the times whenever he did so; one could argue that the Calamity was a counter to that...but if he hadn't had the right timing to be where he was, well he wouldn't be here to debate that claim.]

[Lemaign, Yudrig, and Pyth are ones Zulf is quite certain might like this young Cael man and his strength. It's something he's thought about. Garmuth might appreciate the purpose in those hammer swings. Actually...]
That reminds me. Since you are a Mason, tomorrow is going to be your day by all rights.
