For the past week or so, it may feel like to some that the Bastion is gearing up for something. And not anything bad, either. Something good and oh so needed. It's not just the people, the Caels and the Ura that are aware of what the coming days would mean if the world was still intact. It's like the very Bastion itself has suddenly gained new life, and there's a power over it that's greater than any person, creature or Core.

Anyone who is still awake as dawn breaks over the Bastion may find themselves inexplicably tired for no reason at all, and unable to give in to an intense need to close their eyes, just for a moment.

When everyone wakes, and I do mean everyone, the Bastion will be transformed. Decorations, lights strung across every angle, wreaths, tables with colorful cloths over them, streamers and banners and so much stuff just seemingly out of nowhere! The entire Bastion, suddenly a vibrant, beautiful place for a celebration. And not just any celebration.

[Colin has noticed Paarth's likes and dislikes as he was feeding him... the Mammoth steaks are definitely at the top of the list. Some pulled pork as a topper, a turkey, some lettuce, a cheese wheel and oh, some barbeque sauce might just really appeal to Paarth's taste buds. Some mustard, and a pepper grinder top off the gathering! Time to go see Rin!]

All this food makes me glad I've had my muscles augmented. I can't imagine hauling this around without boosted strength...

You liked that last one? Yeah, that's Barbequed meat. An ancient cooking technique coupled with modern experimentation to create some fantastic flavors.

[Colin's a little smug about that one. Even if he can't cook, even if he doesn't like meat, he STILL appreciates a good barbeque. Barbequed corn, if nothing else, is AMAZING.]

Yes. All the Gods have their good qualities- 'good' and 'evil' aren't really concepts that can be applied to them. Each one is two sides of the same coin. However, out of all them... I would say that the Lorn Mother is one of the kindest.

I will be glad to see her when I die.

[As it was his de facto home away from home, Stein rarely left Bastion’s hospital. This went especially for social occasions. He was about as interested in them as he was good at them as a whole. What he did enjoy, however, was being a fly on the wall – an outsider looking in, creepily quietly observing the interpersonal interactions of large groups. Things like this were experiments in their own right, after all.

So he stayed on the edge of the fray, for the time being. Most people likely wouldn’t notice him until they glanced over and caught a glimpse of light refracting off of a pair of rounded lenses. He’s perfectly approachable, but in no hurry to butt in on this experiment he’s rather contentedly watching.]

[Funnily enough, once upon a time he didn't mind it all so much. Now he is just... very bitter.]

Well- you must understand that the Gods are not meant to be trifled with. Certain Gods are more lenient than others, but, say, making a toy out of Pyth would be seen seen as inviting trouble into your life and household. He is the God of Commotion after all, and, well... [He gestures into the ring.] Even just his avatar is quite strong.

It is delicious. I have not had many seasonings on most of my meat, but this I believe I could appreciate.

Making a toy out of? We're talking... figure, or plush for children to hug and maul about and drool on?

That makes less sense. A small figure to sit on a mantle makes more sense, like the symbols inside the shrine, that seems respectful.

It's quite an amazing process, really. The smoke itself adds flavor to the meat, and then the spices and seasonings further bring it out. And then there's the sauces...

[Barbeque. The dragon likes barbeque. Looks like Colin knows what to tell Rin to cook towards in the future.]

Well, Vatheon brought in a few gods. You might've actually liked Little Sun, he was a dog.

[Colin, you have probably figured out by now that Paarthurnax will listen to whatever rambles you want to get out. He listens and nods.]

It does indeed sound fascinating. Rin's skill must be further appreciated, then, if she is capable of such things.

Absolutely. I've been a few times myself, I guess we just haven't run into each other.

[And Colin does indeed appreciate it. So few people do listen, and he has to remind himself constantly that his rambles are usually unwelcome around other people. Usually after he irritates someone.]

I'm sure she could show you how to do it. Barbequed mammoth actually sounds like it would be a great tasting meal, to the carnivores in our midst.

With your flame, and her knowledge, I bet the two of you could set up a giant barbeque grill.

Yes. You are welcome to leave them here as you go to speak to her. So long as they are not on the table, I should manage well enough.

[Yes, that rather nonjudgmental voice is coming from the Bastion's resident giant dragon. 'Sup. Paarthurnax has been devouring the larges platters Colin has been kind enough to leave about for him, but he pauses to strike up conversation.]
