Day 137 | Open
Who: Colin and anyone curious about what he's doing.
Open: Open
When: Day 137, around midday
Where: Northwestern Bastion, open ground
What: Colin's surveying for a new building
Format Can match.
Warnings: Colin's deeply engrossed in his survey. He may be more of a socially impaired derp than usual.
[Colin has been positively hyperactive today. He wolfed down his breakfast like a man possessed, snagged a couple of fruit to eat in the field, and made sure to get his chores done far ahead of schedule. After that, he grabbed several wooden stakes and set himself to the task of analyzing the ground beneath his feet. Unseen, his eye has been taking detailed measurements of all of the buildings in the Bastion, and he's been setting out the stakes to mark an outline of a new building. Anyone feel like approaching him?]

You know, I almost forgot those had any other use.
no subject
Hmmm? These?
[Colin holds up a stake.]

[Colin nods to himself.]
My father prefers high pressure water guns filled with holy water, when he can't get a handy mage to throw a ray of sunshine.
[He turns his attention back to the ground and marking the spot]
How're you doing today?
no subject
[She blinks at his question, because it seems like no one's asked her that in some time. There may be reasons for that.]
Bored and a little horny, but overall I guess I'm not bad. How about you?

[ She knew by now that Colin was something of an odd duck, but scampering around just to look at the ground and the other buildings was a bit beyond Viola's ken. ]
You never really stop, do you?
no subject
And even then, I expect I'll have plenty to keep me busy.
[He grins at Viola briefly over his shoulder.]
Hopefully I'm not bothering you too much? I apologize for the racket.
no subject
What're you busying yourself with now? I figured you'd have more than enough weird Ura notes to keep you occupied for weeks.
no subject
Well, and helping Ippo with his gym.
[Colin points towards the marked areas]
As for what I'm up to, I'm trying to figure out the EXACT best spot for my workshop.
I don't want to be too close to the other buildings, especially the ranch and the farm, or on unsuitable ground. I also don't want to be too far from the forge, there's going to be a lot of cross-facility work being done. So... I'm surveying.
no subject
["Unsuitable ground" made Viola snort. This floating stuff barely counted as ground at all in her mind. She still had the occasional nightmare of the whole Ranch crumbling out beneath her and falling into nothingness. ]
If you need the forge a lot, why not build adjacent to it? I'm sure Stewart would be reasonable about it if you asked.

Hey, do you want any help?
[ She has an eager, giant, fire-breathing pig who would be perfect for this sort of thing. ]
/slides in here like a creeper-- I mean good boyfriend
Hope you enjoyed getting yelled at by Rin for inhaling your breakfast, ColinHilda isn't alone today, either. Boyfriend is trailing not too far behind, and he has Zoroark to offer as well.
He doesn't say anything, simply following Hilda whenever she starts moving towards Colin and his work.]
Oh no Creeper N!
I'm doing okay, actually. If you want to lend me a hand, though, I've got a couple of stakes out of place.
[That's something of an understatement. He's been studying the terrain and moving stakes for the better part of the afternoon. He points over to three or four lonely stakes apart from the rest.]
It's good ground here, but it's a little difficult to get just the EXACTLY right spot picked out... If you wanted to get those, it'd save me a couple of minutes.
God N seriously you creeper
Emboar, do you think you could help him out a little?
[ Emboar nodded, flexing his muscles like a giant dork. Hilda smiled, amused. She then points to the stakes Colin mentioned. Emboar moved to grab one of them. ]
Just tell him where to move it, okay?
/breathes on 8D
Give him a hand, Zoroark.
[The fox let out an affirmative chuff, following after Emboar.]
What is all this for?
Augh! N, why???
Sorry Colin, he does this. You get used to it after a while.
Re: Sorry Colin, he does this. You get used to it after a while.
/lurks forever
/what did she tell you about creeping, N
Creeper, no creeping!
/too late already doing it
Aiiiiiie! Pervert!
N, aren't you only supposed to be a pervert with me ...?
... yes.
Perv out on Hilda! We have yet to achieve threesome!
:|
:| !
Now that I've put it in your head you can't stop thinking about it.
oh baby oh baby?
hilda's not sure what she thinks about an ot3 just yet.
Give in, Hilda! Come to the Threeside!
yeah sorry N isn't so sure about that either
we'll just keep it to two of us in bed ok
Colin wouldn't be interested either, but when have I ever let that stop me?
you're horrible, dear xD
no threesomes!!
But... but...!
B|
B| !!!
I'm taking my impossible ship and going home!
have fun~

Hey! Asshole! What the hell are you making?
... Ragnarok...
no subject
[Colin doesn't sound offended. If anything, he sounds amused.]
Just surveying the land for a new building.
Crona, how're you doing today?
no subject
[Crona manages a little smile, and a wave.]
G-good. Um... how are you?
no subject
[He smiles back at Crona and Ragnarok.]
Thanks again for that, by the way. I'm doing pretty well, I always feel good when I'm making progress.
no subject
[Crona looks around at the stakes curiously.]
... It's small.

[The sound of his wings always gives Paarthurnax away before he can even speak, and he starts to land. It seems he's just returning from his usual flight out to the Skyway.]
What are you planning to craft?
[That's his guess, anyway.]
no subject
[Colin doesn't actually seem to notice Paarthurnax beyond that for several moments, until he realizes what he said. Almost ten seconds later.]
OH! PAARTHURNAX!
[He whirls to face the dragon, and he beams.]
I was actually meaning to come and find you for just this very purpose! I need to measure you!
no subject
[It's a good thing Colin speaks up when he does after that, because Paar is just about to turn and make his way off. At the request, he looks back and tilts his head slightly.]
Measure me?
no subject
This is going to be my workshop, and while I don't quite have the shards to make a building that can house you... I DO have the shards to make a worshop large enough to make your equipment in your size.
And a scaffold to better equip you!
But to get everything properly prepared, I need your specs.
Wing span, flexibility, your manual dexterity... That sort of thing. So that anything I build for you is suited EXACTLY to your needs.
no subject
If this is a task that you are dedicated to, than I would have no problem with it. I have simply never been measured before.
[When you're a giant dragon, clothing seems a bit silly, and they've never really had use for saddles or such before.]
