[ It'd taken about a day before Kuro was willing to part from his master-turned-mistress. When it seemed like nothing dramatic was going to swoop in and steal Rin away from him, he finally did what all cats had to do eventually. It was time to explore, so he's creeping mostly around the apartments and the Bastion overall. He's taken the time to mark some territory as well, just as a matter of principle.

If he sees anyone out and about, he'll wander over to investigate them. Maybe someone will have a snack for him. It never hurt to be an optimist. ]

[Look who's also out and about! Since this is her natural form she prefers exploring in it over her human one. It's much easier this way, to boot.

What she didn't expect to find was another demon cat (or similar to) like her also roaming around. At first she had mistaken his scent for Rin's and paid the small difference no mind- until she got closer to him. At times like this it's easy for her to forget she also has a human appearance to upkeep. Very easy.

Which is why she's hiding in the bushes downwind to where Kuro is roaming, eyes wide and body ready to pounce before he catches her scent.]

[ Kuro isn't paying half as much attention to his surroundings when he wanders near where Night is hiding. He does start looking around curiously, bushes might mean stray rodents and those were always proper snacks.

And, yes, he doesn't catch on nearly as quickly as he should that there's another cat right nearby. ]

[Three... two... one...

POUNCE!]

Gotcha!

[ H-hey!

Kuro topples when she pounces him, and kicks his feet as he twists around to swat at her as well.

Who do you think you are?! ]

[nightchan]

[She bats at his face with a paw, having a good ol' time even if he isn't.

But to answer his question she prances away, ceasing her teasing him for now.]

[Bon is doing Productive Things, like cleaning his weapon and restocking bullets after his last trip to the Skyway, but he is doing this outside the apartment building so it is easy for Kuro to come across him.

He looks up when he hears Kuro prowling around, and he smiles a small smile.]

Yo, Kuro.

[ Hello!

Kuro's tails are raised high as he pads over.

Hey, what are you doing?

His meowing is decidedly cheerful, and it certainly doesn't take telepathy to know he's pleased to see him. It really is nice that one of Rin's friends made it here. ]

Bon will set down his gun so he can reach over and scratch Kuro behind the ears.]

Yeah, yeah, it's good to see you here too. Are you keeping Okumura out of trouble?

[ Of course!

He thoroughly rubs his head up against Bon's hand, a rumbling purr rising up in his chest. Yes, there, that was much better. When a cat was around, working on anything came second to whatever it wanted.

You should be keeping her out of trouble, too, you know. Rin needs a team for that kind of thing. ]

[Of course, cats are boss like that. Bon isn't like Koneko, but he still does like cats, especially smart cats like Kuro.

It would help if he could understand Kuro, though.]

Speaking of Okumura, I wonder if you're from her world or mine. Was it a surprise for you too, when you saw she was a girl?

[Looks like Kuro isn't getting far before Rin goes looking for him.

But it's for a good reason, because she actually does have a snack for him.]</small.

[ There's no hesitation from Kuro when he hears his name being called. Rin and food went hand-in-hand, and that's something he's extremely familiar with. Any changes between universes wouldn't affect that.

He doesn't mind the interruption since he could always mark Bon's door as part of his territory later.

(It was a matter of principle.)

Hey buddy! I got some scraps from dinner for ya.

[He's right though - Rin and food do go hand in hand]

[ It was a matter between men. Rin wouldn't understand the importance of this.

Great! He hops up to perch on her shoulder, clearly pleased by this turn of events.

Rin's cooking is the best! ]

[Oh that is a... little... cat...

It's really cute.

(Crona doesn't know how to deal with cats).

So Crona just sort of crouches down in front of Kuro and holds out a hand. Hopefully this will go better than Crona's first meeting with Blair (and the boobsquished associated with that first meeting).]

[Moron, it can't understand you.]

[ Kuro pads over to the new person, sniffing at Crona's hand curiously. This is one cat that knows how to deal with people, at least, so he'll get this started by rubbing against that offered hand once in friendly greeting. He pulls back and sits, looking up at Crona expectantly.

Ah.... It walked over... [The cat willingly let Crona touch it.

But then it pulled back.]

... maybe I can pet it? I don't know. I don't know how to deal with cats. They're strange.

[Crona... talks. A lot. To no one.]

[ I'm not the strange one here, you know.

No, Kuro, Crona obviously doesn't know. Still, he's staring like he expects something out of this new person. Touch the cat, Crona. Touch it. ]

[Omg suddenly cats all over the place! This one even sort of looks like Night's cat form, except it has two tails. Nifty!

Maka kneels down when he sees Kuro, holding out his hand in a friendly gesture.]

Here kitty, here!

[ He slows down at the beckoning, and starts to pick his way on over. So far, all of the people here seemed to like cats, which was quite convenient.

Hello, who are you?

Not that this one would understand his meowing, but he was being talkative anyway. Maka would have reach a little further to pet him, however. ]

[Good, good, kitty will receive all the pets.]

Awfully noisy, aren't you? I guess you're another survivor too, then. Do you know Rin? I'm Maka, I'm a friend of hers.

[Yet he's chatting away with a cat he can't understand. Okay then, Maka.]

[ He perks up at the mention of Rin's name, bobbing his head in a nod. Anyone Rin befriended tended to be generally good.

If you know Rin then I'm not half as noisy as what you're used to. ]

[If Kuro wanders around to the back of the apartments, he may find a terribly pale man who seems to have dozed off in the grass. He doesn't seem all that threatening, although he smells... more than a little off, for a human.

Investigate?]

[ He'll investigate only briefly, looking around the man out of curiosity. He's not going to do much else, however. There wasn't any reason to disturb the stranger. ]
