[If anyone goes near the Distillery today, they will find Mireille composing a short list, which she eventually nails to the front door. The list is as follows:

- Two Pecker eggs
- One pound of wheat, ground
- A rare fruit (two cups worth)
- Food coloring (red, blue, and yellow)

Mireille is also within the Distillery, and can answer any questions about the list.]

[headtilt] It doesn't sound very delicious. As it is right now, at least. I mean, I'm more experienced in eating sweet things than making them but... don't you at least need sugar? Obscene amounts of cream?

Yes, this is true. However, I have most of the ingredients I need here in the kitchen. There are just a few things I am missing. So don't worry, there will be plenty of sugar in this treat.

Not that I can help. Or - I'm not sure, maybe I can help. Seimei was talking about making dyes from plants a while ago...

[Oh, it's that weird thing. Mireille has seen Ragnarok enough times not to be freaked out by him, and she just smiles softly.]

Well, everything may taste good on its own, but when you use the individual parts to make a new whole, it tastes a lot better.

Of course, I always reward my helpers.

... Ragnarok! I didn't say we were going yet!

Ahh, we'll be needing to hunt down where a Pecker might be nesting then. [So he can properly pinpoint where the mother might be (hopefully away from the nest)] The real question is if someone will want to come with me.

I'm more worried about her rushing in and getting knocked off the Skyway by an angry bird-mob.

Ah, that would do it. You'd think she would have learned to cut that out at this point.

That's all right, we can just head out on our own, it'd probably be better to have a smaller party anyway, for stealth.

[Sonic is running about the Skyway, looking for items on the list]

"Two Pecker Eggs"? I'm guessing that's some kind of bird...

[and so he looked up, trying to catch sight of any bird-like creatures]

[See, the problem is that while there ARE peckers all around on the Skyway, they are very skittish and either avoid Sonic entirely or outright attack him. They don't have the best history with Bastion residents, so they tend not to like anyone who's not a monster.]

[... Sonic sighed. It looked like he had to do this the hard way. Using the best of his speed, he took off running, hoping his speed could be enough to catch at least one Pecker heading close enough to its nest before his presence scared it off]

[Which is actually a good idea! Sonic is fast enough to catch some of the Peckers off-guard, so soon enough he'll be able to find a nest.

The problem is that it is tucked away in a small gap between two support beams of a rather tall building, and there are several Peckers around squacking madly.]

[Back at the distillery, someone very purple is having a look over the list because mun is slowpoke. She won't even question the purpose of what Mireille's looking for. Of course, she'll be asking at least one question...]

Hm... is there somewhere specific on the Skyway where I might find these? [She really hopes these a pattern to these things. It would make her job far easier.]

Well, the eggs have already been taken of, and I believe Kaoru is seeing to the dyes. The fruit can be found on parts of the Skyway that aren't city, though I believe there will be more monsters there.

The wheat can be found in the farms here, but I am in no condition to grind it into flour myself.

[She pats her very obviously, 'oh god she's about to pop' pregnant belly as she says that.]

[In this case, she will probably be searching for the fruit, albeit very carefully.]

[Well, there are a few options for where she can look. The Open Plains are the closest to the Bastion itself, and are definitely safer than any other location on the Skyway. The trade-off is that it is mostly grass and flowers, and will take a lot of effort to find fruit. The Rippling Walls are mostly parts of the city, but there is some thick vegetation on the other side of the walls, if Patchouli can safely get over them. Finally, the Wharf District might have some dried fruit in a crate on one of the boats, though the risk there is that she might not find anything edible.

...Do you wish for any specific fruit, or will any difficult to find fruit do? Also, I wish to know what food coloring looks like.

[He's not too proud to admit that he has no idea what's what in a kitchen. About the best he can do is put things on sticks and hold them over a fire.]

Something sweet would be best. It is being included in a cake, so sour or bitter would not fit well.

[She'll grab the dyes Kaoru got for her earlier, to show him.]

This is food coloring. It has no flavor, and is simply used to change the color of food, usually desserts.
