Day 90 - Open - Runog's Fire
Who: Tris, THE REST OF BASTION
Status: OPEN like that blue sky-
When: Day 90
Where: Out by the monument.
What: Tris takes personal insult from the weather, and wants to know if there are objections. She provides cookies to lure you in-
Format: Action
Warnings:Very unlikely to be needed.
That's it.
[ This is one Trisana Chandler, plump redhead with a bunch of braids all tied in a knot at the back of her head, glaring at the sky from behind her glasses. ]
I've had enough of you. You have absolutely no variation. There's wind here, there has to be some sort of system that can moved in, but nothing is changing!
[ Why yes, there is a reason she's scowling at the sky. In fact, its why there's a chair from the kitchen with a stacked plate of cookies on it. She is trying to lure people over with those, yes she is. ]
Does anyone object to me making a weather system? A couple days of sunny, a couple sort-of cloudy days, maybe a rainy day, then it'd clear up. I'd be using the river, but it shouldn't take much. Or, I guess I could mix that with pulling clouds in every ... twelve hours, or whatever you all them, to give us a light difference for when we go to sleep.

[ A little tiny bit of pain. Tris has only one of three siblings here. ]
I'm fairly sure Chime will be happy to be dragon enough for this world.

Ragnarok has by now gotten tired of being ignored, and vanishes back into his meister's back. That is enough to get Crona back on the earlier subject of conversation.]
Um... the cookies. Why did you make them?

I have an idea involving that constant clear sky, and want to make sure no one would be terribly upset for changing it.
no subject
You can change the weather?
no subject
I don't do it often, because if you move or make weather out of nothing, you disturb everything about, but... there isn't anything about.

In Crona's world, magic is evil, with barely any exceptions. Chaos is evil, order is good, and magic is an input of energy into a system that did not originally contain it. Uncontrolled energy creates disorder, and chaos is evil.]
Y-y-y- [And Crona gets stuck on the first sound of "you're a witch" and can't manage to move forward.]

[ And there is the fear, even if Tris hasn't even done anything. It will come, eventually. Even if she avoids having anything to do with those Skyway expeditions. ]
no subject
A witch.
Crona had hoped there would be no witches here. No witches, no magic, no one to fear.
There is so much outside the Bastion to fear, there doesn't need to be anyone inside it too.]
W-why are you here?
no subject
[ The option she isn't thinking about. ]

[ She goes silent for a moment. ]
My only plan, back home, was to go to school so I could learn how to heal.
[ Healing didn't get people to make faces like Crona was making at her now. ]
I don't know how it works in your world, but in mine, there are lots of kinds of magic users. Some do that - they hurt people for power, or because they can. Because they were hurt and want to hurt others. I do my best to avoid those kinds.

[ Granted, magic also caused that plague. ]
Yes. Some people use magic to enslave others. Pirates, usually.
[ She still has occasional nightmares about what she did with those pirates. ]
no subject
It hurts people. Always.

[ Tris sighs. ]
Look. If it makes you uncomfortable, I'll just.. not do any magic around you. If it doesn't make you too uncomfortable, I can try to show you that my magic works differently. Your choice.
[ And, well, really, Tris has some aspects of her magic that she doesn't turn off, so she might just avoid Crona.
Chime is looking worriedly between the two of them. ]

[ Tris just has to think on what, exactly. A great deal of the showy applications of her magic are tied to disasters.
... well, there was that trick...
Tris reaches up and picks a braid out. Its a little thick, but not her thickest braid, and it doesn't have a black ribbon on the end. ]
It will get a little windy, so I'm going to step over here.
[ Which she does, mostly so the cookies don't get dust and dirt all over them.
What Tris is doing may be a bit hard to see, as she's working with wind and wind isn't terribly flashy unless it starts spinning rather fast. But after a moment, she's standing - her own clothing not moving very much - off the ground, while the grass under her feet moves in a wind. ]
I used this to get my sister up a cliff after she'd been kidnapped.

[Even witches have siblings. Even witches can be concerned about their siblings.]

[ It was passed and dealt with. And with Chime on her head, it helped her not produce sparks. The thought of what Fin did still made her irritable, but sparking wouldn't be much help. ]

[ Granted, the Empress was the one who wanted her sister to stay in the country, and the easiest way to do that would have been to marry... ]

My mother was a witch. She... was a bad person.
no subject
[ Granted, a small part of that had been him being magically bound. But the other part was he wanted the money. ]
