Day 250 [Open]
Who: A Mystery Character and You!
Open: Open
When: Day 250
Where: Skyway, just outside the Bastion
What: BUT WHO WAS PHONE
Format: action. Also, each thread will be an individual call, and happen in the order that they appear in the post. IE the first person to respond will be call #1, the second call #2, etc.
Warnings: none
[So. Remember how there are chunks of the Skyway that sort of just fly around, not really connected to any of the paths?
Well, on one of those chunks is an old red telephone booth. Said chunk is maybe ten or so feet away from one of the Skyway paths, and the phone inside happens to be ringing.
What do you do?]

Halfway into his walk, he heard a noise...a rather familiar noise, the sound of a ringing telephone. He looked around, thinking he might be seeing things...but of all things, a bright red booth floated on by on a piece of floating land and from it, a ringing could be heard. Gripped by intense curiosity and with it being within jumping distance, Ippo made a few careful jumps and landed on the chunk, his eyebrow quirked as he made his way over to the phone.
His hand hovered in front of it...hesitating for a moment before he took hold of it and brought the receiver up to his ear.]
Um...hello?
no subject
Yes, er, hi.
[A short pause.]
You don't sound like the person I'm looking for either.
no subject
[The apology came out quick, almost instinctive, but Ippo quickly caught himself and shook off his old habits for the sake of figuring this whole thing out.]
May I ask who's calling? There's a chance I might know who you're looking for.
[We're just going to push off the fact that this should be impossible as the phone wasn't connected to anything, he'd seen stranger things.]
no subject
[His voice also sounds young. He might be a teenager.]

Ah...yes right, I'm terribly sorry. Well my name is Ippo, I apologize for asking such a personal question. Still, I'd like to help you find who you're looking for...if I can that is.
no subject
Yeah, sorry. This just hasn't happened before. I think I might be dialing the wrong number.
But, uh, my name's Zero.
no subject
[Again, he didn't sound horribly put off by that. He'd been tossed through a door by a ghost before, this seemed tame in comparison.]
If you don't mind me asking...whereabouts are you calling from? Things out here are...pretty barren.
no subject
But, there's trees? Like, the huge pine trees, that used to be where it snowed all the time, but because everything's the same temperature now there's no snow. And there's some mountains too, but they're not connected to where I am.
no subject
Do you need any help? I'm not very familiar with the layout of the land myself, but I know some people who might have an idea if I tell them the layout of the area you just described.
[It was more important to figure out if Zero was alone and needed assistance before anything else. Any other questions could be figured out later.]

What about on your end? Is everything okay over there? We don't have a lot yet, but with more hands helping with farming and stuff we could probably take in some more people.
no subject
I wouldn't use the word "okay", but things are about as good at things get out here. We found a safe place called the Bastion, as far as I know it came equipped with housing and it gets more added on to it every day. Since I've been here, we've gotten running water, electricity, and a bunch of other things...it's actually really nice to know there are other people surviving out there though.
[It broadened Ippo's perspective of this new world, gave him a wider sense of what was out there. There were people out there, people who were living and surviving outside of the Bastion and the Tazal Terminals.]
Still, it might benefit everyone if we could find one another at some point. Like my teachers used to say, none of us can accomplish more than all of us!
no subject
[Yeah, it sounds like the Bastion is better-equipped for survival.]
no subject
[Still, this place sounded interesting to him; it put his fears of losing the Bastion at ease somewhat, this meant that even if they did, it was entirely possible to live on the outside.]
What's your end like? Besides the boiling water part...is it a particularly peaceful place? Do you have to post watches for creatures or are you relatively safe?

[Ippo you can't just volunteer the Bastion for a rescue mission. Of course he would go and there were a few people he knew that likely wouldn't pass up on the offer, but still...it's a thing of courtesy.]
no subject
Well, if we're ever in trouble, I'll be sure to call you guys.
