What: Not everyone is going to go search for the Core. Some people have to stay behind and tend to the daily things in the Bastion, after all.

[Regardless of the Bastion's current state, there are still things that need to be done from day to day. Some one has to attend to those things, and not everyone can just up and leave. Some people might not even want to leave, and there are even a select few that just can't.

So for those of you staying behind, make sure you're not strangers to your fellow survivors!]

It was startling, that's for sure. I'm glad I was mostly awake at the time it happened.

[from amidst his mini-mobbing] That is good, yes. [they certainly seem to be doing a lot better than him in all of this. Such resilient bitties!]

Did Miss Hilda go with the others? I didn't get a chance to see them go…

She did. It was a fairly large group that went, and she has her team with her.

[And he was worried about her, of course, but there was little he could do about that. He knew keeping her in the Bastion indefinitely was only going to upset her.]

Her team? [his hands set to fluffing one of them lightly, though his eyes are on N. The word "team" gives him entirely the wrong mental image - the complexities of your Pokemon World are lost on him] You mean like bodyguards? My friend had his own team of body guards. Though they were kind of more like… butlers-slash-chauffers-slash-bodyguards. They were pretty good at gathering intelligence too - not that Kyouya-senpai wasn't any good at that himself…

…I didn't know Miss Hilda had bodyguards...

No, her Pokemon team. She's a Pokemon trainer.

[he doesn't mean to sound as incredulous as he does and he doesn't really have a reason to - he takes Tama-chan out on the Skyway all the time. But he looks over to the little ones and does a brief headcount all the same: he's only really met the babies - is it really okay for them to be out there?]

[Tama-chan remembers Zoroark, though, from splashy-fun-times in the river. Where've you been hanging out, buddy? She missed you!]

…was this back when you were sneaking Seimei fish behind my back? [for N's benefit, even though there is no way he hasn't heard -] She was sneaking Seimei fish behind my back.

[Tama-chan carefully edges through the mob and leans her head against Kaoru's leg, blinking up at him. She's sorry. Tama-chan's sorry.]

[fake-reluctantly patting her] …I hope she didn't try to rope you in as an accomplice with that face of hers.

[N raised an eyebrow at Zorork, but the fox clearly shook his head in response.]

No. Why was she sneaking fish to some one anyway?

One of Seimei's main weaknesses is his stomach. Something he shares in common with this one here…

I reckon she knew that and was trying to buy favours out of him. Or at least have him defend her when I found out she was fishing.

[Why would I ask for favors from some one I don't even know?]

I suppose that's a good point. Still, just because you let her get away with that doesn't mean you should do the same with the young ones.

[having got her forgiveness pats, Tama-chan starts nudging at the little ones gently - Hi babies! - while Kaoru shakes his head]

I would say that I'm not. But I'm also a very picky eater.

So is Seimei. But that means he caves all the more quickly when presented with something he likes.

Tama-chan is too smart for her own good.

[They're babies! Well, relatively. Most of them have been hatched at least with in the past 30 days, but yes. Babies.]

You shouldn't underestimate intelligence just because you can't verbally understand something.

I know. I mean, I learned that from Seimei. But I don't have the skills he has, and she still surprises me a lot.

I suppose it would be different with creatures that aren't Pokemon. Pokemon are capable of forming a relationship with their trainers that rarely needs the use of verbal communication.
