Notes: The two separate situations, for sake of ease, will be in two different top threads. Consider the dovahzul group a sort of mingle! Get to know your fellow students better.


In the time between morning and noon, Paarthurnax settles down by the river of Dragonfield where the usual stone tablet depicting all the letters of dovahzul is. It's a recognizable landmark, after all... Although he won't turn away new faces.

During the afternoon, anyone venturing nearby will be called to by the old dragon. Investigate?

Oh... In case somebody knows something that'd be really helpful, huh?

[Roxas scratches his head, a little hesitant. He's not sure he's ever had to explain what he can do before, and it feels a little like bragging.]

Well, I- I can use portals and light magic. And the Keyblade. It- can unlock all sorts of things.

[wayofvoice]

A good thing to have, should we venture out into anymore areas such as the Observatory.

[Cover your ears, Roxas- there's the sound of something tearing through pure rock. Dragon claws are strong and sharp. They have to be, when they're your only way of writing.]

Light magic is one that is unknown to me. What does it entail?

[Roxas gives a start, but then he's peering curiously at what Paarthurnax is carving. Not... that he can read it. It's kind of neat though!]

It's kind of- hard to describe. It's the opposite of darkness, but that doesn't mean that light is good and darkness is bad, or anything like that.

Of course. Things are rarely so simple.

Some people think they are, though.

[wayofvoice]

There always are. It is a line of thought which never seems to die.

[coolerthansora]

I guess so. People- like things to be easier so they know what to do.

[wayofvoice]

Sometimes, it is so that they do not feel guilt for the things that they do. Other times, they are frightened.

It is difficult to find balance.

[coolerthansora]

I guess it's not something that comes up much now, though.

[wayofvoice]

Perhaps. Time will tell. There is so much out there that we have had yet to discover.

[coolerthansora]

What do you mean?

[wayofvoice]

We did not know, when we all first came to this place, that a weapon was responsible for doing so much. We did not know there were other survivors, managing well enough on their own beyond this Bastion.

At any moment, the things we do not know about could become known to us- and thus make lives which seem so simple complex.

[coolerthansora]

I guess that's right.

There could- even be a whole other Bastion, or- people who came here on purpose, to help.

[wayofvoice]

Indeed. We must keep our minds open to many things.

[coolerthansora]

Do you think there is stuff out there like that?

[wayofvoice]

It is always a possibility.

When the Bastion is more settled... Perhaps it shall be something to look for.

[coolerthansora]

...yeah.

It is something to work towards. For some here, that is a good thing.
