[Bit by little bit, trip by trip out to those shattered remains of the world that once held hundreds upon hundreds of Pokemon, eggs were being located and brought back to the Bastion, coming under the care of an ornery Ditto and the newly designated "daycare couple".

The last time eggs had been hatched was after the festival when N, Hilda, and AZ had all received an egg each as gifts, so it was finally time for the first true arrivals from the Skyway locations to hatch.

Of course N had been preoccupied with Hilda after her injuries, and it wasn't until he was outside getting the other Pokemon fed that he realized some of those eggs were starting to move.

Woobat let out an excited noise at seeing them and quickly fluttered over, joined soon by Zoroark who was nudging the eggs with his snout in hopes of encouraging the baby Pokemon inside.]

Oh... they're hatching... !

[ Despite being ordered by Doctor Okumura to stay in bed as much as she can, Hilda was making it very clear that she wasn't good at following doctor's orders. She was still in pain, and being upright for long periods of time didn't help that, but she figured it was her own fault that she was in so much pain to begin with and that she owed it to everyone to at least try to help around the daycare.

Never mind that everyone told her to stay in bed anyway.

But anyway, this is why she was in the doorway connecting the house to the fenced-in field when the eggs started hatching, her eyes wide and excited. ]

They're hatching?!

[ And now she's going to try to make her way over to the hatching eggs, as quickly as she can.

Which is to say, not that quickly at all. ]

[Oh Hilda.

If this were any other incident, N would not be allowing her to be this stubborn. He'd already sent her back to bed twice before going out to feed the Pokemon, and of course she had ignored him and kept going.

But this was a special moment that she needed to be present for.]

You're just in time, Hilda.

[ What can she say, she's a stubborn girl. This is the girl you've given your heart to, N. Hilda's glad when he doesn't send her back a third time, though. After all, if the little ones were going to be here any minute, she really wanted to be here to welcome them to the world. However ... little of the world there was at the moment.

She continued to make her way toward the hatching eggs. It still hurt to be up and about even after days of .. not .. really resting as much as she should be, but she still pushed through it. ]

They're finally hatching ... I was afraid I would miss it ...

[ She didn't know when they would hatch, but at the time she landed herself in the hospital she figured it had been getting pretty close ... ]

[And here comes AZ, looking somewhat annoyed.]

Hilda, you should be in bed.

[Still... he can't blame her that much. He sits down near the eggs, smiling a bit.]

I'm glad they seem all right.

She can be out long enough for this.

[Even N wouldn't be cruel enough to deny her that.

He smiles at her, then down at the eggs once he's sure she's sitting and comfortable enough to be out there, putting a hand on one of the ones that's shaking.]

It shouldn't be too much longer now.

[ O'danya has been rather scarce around the Bastion. Oh, she's been around, but her head has been kept low while she adjusts to the idea of... well, everything. Most of what she's been doing is keeping her crafting sharp and taking care of the animals in the area. Mostly the chocobos, but the pokémon daycare has caught her attention time and again which means she has gotten fairly attached to the eggs in their time there.

It seems her timing has served her well for arriving for another visit. ]

Oh! Oh, is it time?

[N hadn't been so sure at first, about people possibly claiming Pokemon as opposed to keeping them in the daycare indefinitely, but Hilda had convinced him fairly easily it would work out just fine.

So O'danya's presence around the daycare had been surprisingly well received, given that N was usually pretty wary around new people.

He was learning, though. Slowly.

A rare smile was on his face when she approached, giving a nod to her question.]

For some of them, yes.

[ She's not very put off by N's wariness, instead choosing to show through action how she isn't terrible with animals. Her own chocobo, Daphnes, is an excellent example... although he's back at the stables for now. She kneels down by the eggs and grins. ]

Which ones? Is there anything we should do to prepare?

[Hilda has probably been helping in the "convince N this is okay" department.

There's four eggs shaking right now, but N shakes his head to the second question.]

They can usually get out on their own. It's going to be... Sewaddle, Tirtouga, Cottonee, and Solosis.

You've already picked names?

[ She's leaning forward enough to watch, ears perked higher than usual while she does. There's enough space between O'danya and the eggs to give them room to hatch, but she's far too curious to not give it all of her attention. ]

[Ryu has been watching the Pokemon at a distance, mostly. They're interesting, but the people with them always keep them busy. And they're not treated the same way as people are, but he can tell that they're smart. He's not really sure where they stand in relation to people, and that kind of tricky subject is one he knows he's not very good at.]

[N exclaiming is enough to draw him in, though - leaning on the fence and looking in.]

Ah... really?

Yes! Look, they're shaking! That means it's close to happening.

[It's weird to see N so excitable, but after his first proper hatching with Darumaka (who is snoozing in the shade of a berry tree not far away) this sort of thing is actually quite enjoyable for him.]

That's great! How long will it take?

[New animals! He loves animals. Pokemon are basically animals, right?]

It shouldn't take long at all. They're very close.

[Hooray cute things!]

Ah... I've never seen anything be born before...

[He looks at them closely. Oh! They really are shaking!]

[Xion makes it a point to stop by the Daycare once very other day at least, even if some of those times are spent hanging back and watching the Pokemon curiously. N's excitement, however, piques her curiosity and she steps closer cautiously.]

Huh? What's going on?

[Oh, it's Swablu's buddy! The bird Pokemon lets out a happy chirrup and flutters over to land on Xion's head, nestling in happily.

N watches this with a somewhat distant but amused expression.

That's actually cute.]

Some of these eggs will be hatching soon.

[Zulf... hasn't really been spending as much time in the Daycare as some of the other people- we're staring at you lovebirds over there- but he does know its existence and, well, when you're passing by and there's a ruckus coming from inside a building, it's a bit hard to resist the pull of curiosity. Especially when you're recovered from a good chunk of your trauma.]

[So Zulf is poking his head inside, interested.]

Really? That's good to hear.

[Excuse you they own it. Rude.

But okay all that aside there are eggs and they're getting ready to hatch and N just looks so happy.]

Yes, it should be soon!

[Happy is always good! They always need more happy, considering... everything. So Zulf comes further in.]

It sounds exciting. What kind are you expecting?

[Because he seriously has no idea what the deal with any of these are]

Not that Zulf would have any idea what those names meant.]

[It's only been a day since Hikaru's had to accept that his world is exactly as destroyed as everyone said it was, and he's had to drag himself out of Hitachiin-Abe HQ just to keep himself from sitting around listlessly. He's not much better off on his feet, but at least by wandering he has a chance of coming across something to lift his mood.

And lo, what should he come across but a building full of interesting noises? Keen for any sort of distraction, it doesn't take much for him to decide to stick his head into this stranger's business. Those... are the weirdest looking eggs he's ever seen.]

What's hatching?

[And what the heck are those weird animals? Are they different kinds of Tama-chans?]
