[Day 194] Hello world... how you been? [OPEN]
Who: The Pokemon Daycare people, some Pokemon eggs and you!
Open: Open!
When: Day 194
Where: Pokemon Daycare
What: It's finally time for more eggs to hatch
Format: Any
Warnings: N/A
[Bit by little bit, trip by trip out to those shattered remains of the world that once held hundreds upon hundreds of Pokemon, eggs were being located and brought back to the Bastion, coming under the care of an ornery Ditto and the newly designated "daycare couple".
The last time eggs had been hatched was after the festival when N, Hilda, and AZ had all received an egg each as gifts, so it was finally time for the first true arrivals from the Skyway locations to hatch.
Of course N had been preoccupied with Hilda after her injuries, and it wasn't until he was outside getting the other Pokemon fed that he realized some of those eggs were starting to move.
Woobat let out an excited noise at seeing them and quickly fluttered over, joined soon by Zoroark who was nudging the eggs with his snout in hopes of encouraging the baby Pokemon inside.]
Oh... they're hatching... !

Oh... they're hatching... !

But okay all that aside there are eggs and they're getting ready to hatch and N just looks so happy.]
Yes, it should be soon!
no subject
[Happy is always good! They always need more happy, considering... everything. So Zulf comes further in.]
It sounds exciting. What kind are you expecting?
[Because he seriously has no idea what the deal with any of these are]
no subject
Sewaddle, Tirtouga, Cottonee, and Solosis.
[N points to each of the shaking eggs, indicating which ones were which.
Not that Zulf would have any idea what those names meant.]
no subject
Ah, I see. [He doesn't.] Cottonee sounds... fluffy. [Yup sounding smart over here]
no subject
Quite fluffy.
[Is he going to have to break out Hilda's Pokedex?]
no subject
What do they look like? Ah, I suppose I'll see in a moment, won't I?
[And maybe.]
no subject
And yeah, he borrowed her Pokedex for a reason. He takes it out and opens it, starting on the entry for Cottonee.]
Cottonee, the Cotton Puff Pokémon. Cottonee is blown around by the wind because of its lightweight composition. The only circumstance in which it cannot be blown by wind is when it has been soaked by rain, which weighs it down and makes it soggy.
no subject
[Zulf leans closer at the Pokedex and makes a small sound of understanding.]
I see... We'll have to be careful to make sure it doesn't get blown out onto the Skyway, then.
no subject
I think we can keep it here so long as it doesn't go near the edges.
[But that's what training them is for.
He hands Zulf the Pokedex, moving closer to the eggs to put a hand on one.]
Shouldn't be much longer now.
no subject
I see. Do you mind if I stay awhile until they hatch?
no subject
I don't mind. ... but don't be surprised if a small black fox comes around and starts begging for your attention while we're waiting.
no subject
no subject
[But he loves that ball of fox fluff. Really.]
There are over 600 kinds of known Pokemon where I'm from... we've gained more here recently thanks to our finds out there, but it still feels so strange to only have the handful we do.
no subject
[Zulf smiles for a moment before N's next words, and then the expression fades. He looks down at the Pokedex for a moment, silent.]
Yes, it's... disconcerting at times for there to be so little as things are as they are now.
no subject
All of those lives... all of those beautiful, unique Pokemon gone now. I was in denial for so long about what had happened, until we found the Unova Daycare Center. I knew then that I couldn't stay ignorant to what had happened to our world.
Unova, Kalos... Johto, Sinnoh, all of the regions. They're gone now. And all of the Pokemon within them save for the ones we've just barely managed to rescue...
The Bastion is a place of kindness and peace away from the turmoil of the Skyway but it still weighs on me to know what these new ones will never get to experience.
no subject
[It doesn't seem like good advice, but it's the one Zulf has been relying on so that he doesn't break apart at a moment's notice.]
There's many things these new lives won't ever get to experience, that's true... But they'll get to know people like Rin who can control fire just like some of them can, or the dragon. There will be things they'll grow up used to. [A dry smile.] They'll be the rare children who grow up actually used to Donut Trees.
no subject
[It's literally like having your own internal voice silenced, though for N that voice was thousands of hearts and minds connected to his own.
But he has a point.
Up until the "donut trees" comment.]
... donut trees.
no subject
[Zulf just covers his face in his hands.]
...Aoi Asahina troubles me greatly.
