[Day 184] Actually we DO know how those eggs got there... [OPEN]

[It took a lot of shards, and a lot of work, but it was worth all of that in the end. With the eggs they'd found at the broken Daycare Center getting so close to hatching, and their Pokemon numbers growing, staying in the apartments was just not going to continue to be a viable option. So the two trainers put their heads together, and after a lot of discussion, planning, counting shards and re-planning they had managed to come up with an entirely new Daycare Center of their own, complete with a yard and living area on the second floor.

And there it was, a new house standing on a new section of land in a slightly expanded Bastion, and after some shuffling around of personal belongings out of the tower apartments, N, Hilda, Anna, and all their Pokemon and eggs were successfully relocated to this new location.

So if anyone is making their way around the south quadrant of the Bastion today, this new house with its strange creatures playing happily in the yard is likely to catch your attention.

Well... yeah, but does my boyfriend really count? I think he might have a bias.

[She's joking of course, but hey any chance to poke fun at Bon.]

Boyfriends count! But I know what you mean. N seems to hold me up on this pedestal of sorts and I just don't think I quite live up to how he sees me.

[ Ugh, boyfriends. Love 'em. ]

[She can't help but laugh at that.]

It's funny, Ryuuji and I barely got along when we first met, but now that we do I think he's kind of got the same thing going.

[ She smiles a little, nervously. ]

I think I'm actually afraid of not living up to how N sees me ... I actually care a lot about how he sees me.

I might not think so much of myself, but I guess I really like that N thinks so highly of me. I'm afraid of disappointing him.

[ She's afraid she's already disappointed him, really, what with all that's gone on lately. It's a weird thought for her, because she doesn't really care that much about what people think of her. ]

I doubt you'd ever do anythin' to really disappoint him. You'd probably have to be like... a total bitch for no reason for that to happen.

[Rin that's not really helpful at all.]

Mn ... I wouldn't do that. If I were ever like that, something would really be wrong.

But ...

[ She fidgets a little. ]

Is it okay for me to talk to you about this? I just kinda need to talk about it with someone, and I trust you.

Not a whole lotta couples in this place. Probably better to come to some one who's goin' through the same damn thing you are then some one who doesn't really understand, right?

Okay ...

[ She takes a deep breath. ]

I ... need to figure out how to word this. Um ...

[ She's quiet for another moment. ]

When N and I came to this world, we came from a world called Vatheon. We didn't come straight from our world. So, we weren't exactly sure if our world had been destroyed. Not until Mr. AZ showed up.

Even then, N hadn't quite realized what it meant when someone from Kalos arrived here, but I figured out that our world was gone. I wanted to tell N, but ... I couldn't figure out how.

So now all of these locations from our various worlds are showing up on the Skyway, and ... something from our world showed up. Now N knows, and he knows that I knew, and I'm afraid he's upset with me about not saying anything before.

Eesh... complicated.

[Vatheon... hadn't Roxas mentioned that place? It sounded like a handful of survivors had been yanked from that world instead of their own homes.

And apparently getting yanked to other worlds in general wasn't as uncommon as one might have thought.

Surely Colin would have a shit ton to say about that, and it would just make Rin's head hurt.]

Y'know... I can't really speak for him, but uh... just goin' off what happened to me when I found mine... I bet anythin' he ain't angry about that.

It's... it's like... we know. We all know because they told us. What the Caels did, how it affected everythin'. But in our heads we don't wanna accept somethin' we already feel in our hearts, y'know?

Seein' it... you can't ignore it anymore. It's there, right in front of your face and you can scream and cry and cover your eyes but when you put your hands down it hasn't gone away.

At that point you can't just pretend that your home might still be out there somewhere waitin' for you to come back to the life you had before.

N probably knew... he just didn't wanna accept it.

Hmn ...

[ She sighs a little, slumping in her seat. ]

He's ... clearly really upset. And I don't blame him for it, not at all. I just don't know how to help things along.

Honestly all you can do is be there for him, y'know? Even if it seems like he wants to be alone or whatever, just keep remindin' him that you're there to listen whenever he feels like he needs it.

[ She nods slowly. ]

Okay. I will. Thanks, Rin ...

I'm sure everythin' will turn out alright in the end.

Yeah, it will! I'm just going to worry about it until I see it get better, that's all.

Yeah, I figured. I believe it will, though. Just give it time!

[ She smiles a little at her friend, then turns her attention to what she brought. ]

... Did you bring food?

[Seriously Hilda who do you think you're talking to?]

I still need to figure out how to make food for your Pokemon sooner or later, but for now I've got some good stuff for us!

[ Clearly she's talking to Rin because Rin brought food. ]

That sounds and smells amazing, thank you! I'll have to get everyone over here ... and I can tell you for sure that some of my Pokemon will eat human food anyway. I told you about Emboar trying to steal my food, right?

Zorua looks like she wants to do the same, too, only instead of hopping up and outright eating it, she looks up at me with giant eyes and begs me for food.

[Exactly.]

Man, sounds like some of the pets my friends had back home. Stealin' food or beggin' for it. Kuro usually just sat on my shoulder and asked me over and over again when were gonna eat!

[Bringing the food over now, too, since that's obviously the important thing here.]

Somehow, I'm not surprised.

[ She laughs a little. ]

That seems to be a constant even between worlds.

Yeah but most worlds don't let you talk to a demon cat with two tails! Or have pets that battle one another for fun!

My gut reaction to that is still to question it after all this time, but this place and Vatheon have proven to me that there really are worlds out there who don't know what Pokemon are at all. It's still so weird ...

You grew up with it like that, right? I guess that would be weird to you. I only learned about demons about a year ago so that was somethin' I had to get used to.

Yeah, it's really weird to have as little Pokemon here in the universe now.

Are you used to demons now?

[ She'd hope so, considering Rin is one ... but if she only learned about it a year ago then it would make sense if she was still getting used to the entire idea. ]

Well yeah, kinda have to be now, right?

[Her tail even twitches at that.]
