For the past week or so, it may feel like to some that the Bastion is gearing up for something. And not anything bad, either. Something good and oh so needed. It's not just the people, the Caels and the Ura that are aware of what the coming days would mean if the world was still intact. It's like the very Bastion itself has suddenly gained new life, and there's a power over it that's greater than any person, creature or Core.

Anyone who is still awake as dawn breaks over the Bastion may find themselves inexplicably tired for no reason at all, and unable to give in to an intense need to close their eyes, just for a moment.

When everyone wakes, and I do mean everyone, the Bastion will be transformed. Decorations, lights strung across every angle, wreaths, tables with colorful cloths over them, streamers and banners and so much stuff just seemingly out of nowhere! The entire Bastion, suddenly a vibrant, beautiful place for a celebration. And not just any celebration.

I'm sure those that have told you that have mentioned that you are missing out on some of the basic fundamentals of human life.

Humans are not rational creatures by default. Some have the skill and the mindset to be so even from an early age, but even those who are like that can still find themselves given in to intense anger, joy, excitement, upset should the right moment arise.

Emotions can be painful, but without them, life is simply... empty.

Anna is almost definitely the little girl, but there are too many men she doesn't know well for her to match any of them to the name Stuart—or Zahi, for that matter. But she...might know who Zanya is? Maybe? No, probably not.

[It's her favorite color, so she took notice when she passed by flower-pins-girl (Zia? Zia), Anna (probably?), Zulf here in front of her, and a few others and saw bright new armband accessories.]

...Some of them might be. I wouldn't be surprised. It's... an Ura tradition. It has to do with the fact that this is Micia's festival, overall.

I'm more aware of that than you think.

That's... something that can happen if you get involved with Darkness.

Certainly there's a balance to be had? To be one extreme or the other doesn't seem... healthy.

Of course there is. Most people fall within the middle of the spectrum. Very few are capable of pure Light, and even most Darkness is... artificial, at this point.

One of the events which started off the invasion of Darkness over many worlds involved people making things they were better off not creating. The result was artificial 'Heartless', creatures of Darkness that encourage its spread.

But there are true... "Heartless" as well? Ones not created but naturally formed?

That's right.

... forgive me. As much as I want to understand I simply find so much of this going over my head.

That's not surprising. I'm not expecting much.

I've yet to see any enemies from Polka's world. I imagine everything including creatures of that sort were destroyed.

I thought that too. Then I found one. Two. But not the others.

Maybe I'll see one of them again, then. [The other wasn't taken by the Calamity, though.

It takes a real strong person to stay lost in the Skyway. You must have found real strong friends.

You and I both did, along with all these others. If we survived, who's to say that the creatures we fight against haven't also?

Besides, I know for a fact that a few Lesser Nobodies survived. [He shows what he means when, a second later, a Corridor of Darkness opens up and his Berserker Nobody steps through. If Frederic hasn't seen it around the Bastion before... Well, here it is now.]
