Day 134(+135?) | Dry Lightning

Where: All over the bastion. There will be a note on the monument, then Tris/Briar/Rosethorn may just come find your character (If that is all right-)
When: Day 134, (135 if needed-)
What: After the events of that gathering and the arrival of one of their teachers, the Winding Circle mages think everyone needs to meditate. Its a good idea. It will help. Really. And no, they don't plan on giving much of a choice.

It starts with a plate of cookies (The ones Tris pretty much always makes), and a piece of paper stuck out by the monument. The paper shows a figure, with an upset face and leaking lines of some sort, then the figure settled in a circle in what should be a fairly standard meditation seat, then the figure again, although this time with a smile and no leaking lines. Completely clear, right?

It gets a little more vague. This looks like the shape of the Bastion, with a bunch of figures in it. One even looks like a dragon. The figures are all inside a circle right after that. Is that clear? No?

Well, there are three mages looking to talk to the residents of the Bastion today. Tris, Briar, or Rosethorn can explain. And they intend to explain to everyone why its a good idea.

[ Eventually Tris will ask about what sort of training Rin had. And then Rin will find out how many different ways Tris has learned how to swear from Briar. ]

We have plenty of time. I'm never going to expect instant results.

[ Tris waves away Rin's thanks a little. ]

Its no trouble to me. Helping all of you who actually go out on the Skyway seems to be most of what I can do without... scaring people. Talking is fairly easy.

[The problem with not being what anyone ever expected to happen is that no one ever expected her to exist let alone live long enough to make it to fifteen and demand to be trained as an exorcist.

So really 90% of her training is whatever shit they could figure out might maybe work.

I'm a half demon exorcist in trainin'. Whatever you could do that some one might think is "scary", I bet you a hundred shards I've seen somethin' way, way worse.

[Rin matches Tris' wry smile with a much warmer one of her own, though beneath it was a good deal of her own masked pain and sorrow.]

I grew up without friends, too. I hate bein' alone. Like hell I'm ever gonna put some one else through that kinda pain, especially some one I already consider a friend.

I don't know if I want to try taking you up on that, because I am fairly certain some things are scarier from eleven year old girls than... demons. Or if I should sit here, comfortable in the idea that most non-mages, and even a few mages, of my world are a bit stupid.

[ The way she says 'demons', its clearly just stories and other people's superstition. Worlds, man. ]

... Yes, being alone is... the worst.

[ There's a reason she took in a four year old.

So here is a startled look when she registers that about being friends. ]

Well. That may be the record for fastest friend yet.

Honestly if they're thinkin' you're scary before they even get to know you, they're the dumb ones.

[Rin is aware that they're pretty much myths in other worlds, but it doesn't bother her in the least because guess what she thought before the truth was revealed to her.

It doesn't offend her in the least.]

[ Rin gets a slightly startled, much less sharp smile for that comment, before it turns a little wry. ]

I've talked to you... twice? And you're already calling me friend. It took me months to get along with Briar - and we're foster siblings. I taught him how to read. Never mind my other two siblings.
