Day 127 | Open :: I stared up at the sun
Who: Frederic and anyone else who comes across him moping about
Open: Open
When: Day 127
Where: The lake on the other side of the Dragonfield
What: Frederic really wants his piano, but he's short the shards required for it. This is very distressing for Mr. Chopin.
Format: action
Warnings: Overly dramatic composers
[Composing a song was just one step in many While Frederic was more than happy to find that his skills hadn't atrophied any in the time he had spent in the other world and the time he had been in this new one, he was equally as distressed that he couldn't actually do anything beyond put the notes to paper.
Not getting to play his beloved piano was beginning to become a point of physical duress for him, and he had no idea how to handle it. He had never been away from the keys of his favored instrument for so long.
To say as much to anyone, though, was a wretched thought he didn't want to entertain. How weak he must appear to them all, finding something as petty as the lack of a musical instrument to moan and whine over when they were living on the edges of a ruined world!
But that didn't stop him from withdrawing himself from others to go find a place to sulk about it, because what else could he do?
Some survivors might hear an odd occasional sigh coming from the small lake that led in to the river that bordered the Dragonfield, and if they cared to investigate it the would find a certain composer lying on his back, staring at the odd colored sky above.]

[ .... huh. that's. something. ]
I only just got here recently, and I've kind of been in the hospital since then, so ... I haven't had a lot of time to really get to know the place.

[ MIND BLOWN. ]

[ That is a strange concept that she is pretty glad she won't have to deal with in this place, no offense. ]

That said, I do hope you're not straining yourself by being out here.

Well ... I don't feel any worse now than I did before? I have a feeling my boyfriend might get a bit worried if he comes back to the hospital room and finds me gone ...
[ ... Whoops. That might not be a good thing. She also has a feeling N will understand, though, knowing how restless she had been lately. ]
no subject
Shouldn't you return before he does then? Would you like me to escort you back?
no subject
[ She wants to stay out a little longer, though, and it's pretty obvious. ]
I should be fine getting back on my own.
[ Though if you don't escort her, she might not go directly back to the hospital. ]
no subject
Are you certain? You wouldn't want to have something happen and find yourself alone and unable to call for help.

[ She reaches for her bag with her good hand and brings out a pokeball, releasing the Frillish that was inside. ]
Friiiiill~!!
[ Frillish wasted no time in being an affectionate little shit, nuzzling happily against his trainer's cheek. Traiiiinerrrrr I loves you, give me loves tooooooo! ]
no subject
O-oh my... what... what in the world... ?
no subject
This is Frillish. He's a Pokemon.
[ ... he might not know what a Pokemon is. Uh. Well. By this point she's used to explaining. ]
Don't worry, he's really friendly.
[ She looks back at Frillish again. ]
Frillish, it's okay. Frederic is a friend. Go say hello to him?
[ Frillish slowly comes out from behind his trainer and cautiously floats toward Frederic, offering a tentacle for shaking. ]
no subject
But... she's right, it's friendly. And he is, too. Awkwardly, he reaches towards the offered tentacle.]
Well then... it's nice to meet you, Mr. Frillish.
no subject
He's really affectionate ... sorry if that makes you uncomfortable at all.
[ sheepish, goooo. ]
no subject
[It was startling, of course, but after a moment Frederic just let out a laugh, petting the jellyfish Pokemon gently.]
Such a fascinating creature! These... Pokemon are common in your world?
no subject
They're everywhere back home, yeah. From the time many trainers like me are young, we're preparing to go out into the world and become someone who catches and becomes friends and teammates with Pokemon.
There are a variety of different routes a trainer can take with their Pokemon ... some trainers decide to work with their Pokemon to take the Elite Four Challenge, which requires traveling all over the region and battling the eight Gym Leaders across the cities to prove their strength, and then taking on the Elite Four and the Champion, which are the proven best of the best of battle-based trainers.
Other trainers simply decide to live with their Pokemon, not necessarily as pets, but as friends. Though I ... guess there are some out there who treat them more like pets.
[ She certainly treated her team more like friends. ]
And then there are other trainers still who prefer to make their Pokemon team into stars, and allow them to participate in things like musicals and contests. Musicals are the more popular of the two in Unova, though I know that contests are pretty big in other regions of the world.
[ She could go on and on and on and on about Pokemon, dude. ]

Nothing of the sort could even be imagined in my world! And your parents... they allow this sort of dangerous journey at such a young age?
no subject
It's pretty normal, where I come from. We start from a young age, learning how to fend for ourselves and make our ways in the world.
[ She becomes visibly sad, remembering her friends back home. ]
Not every parent is totally okay with letting their child go out at such a young age, even with their Pokemon by their side ... my friend Bianca's Dad was really overprotective, and really struggled with the idea of letting his daughter go. Eventually he let up a little, and let her make her own decisions.
Most parents are pretty cool with it, though, and recognize it as a rite of passage of sorts. I think having Pokemon with us helps them feel a bit more at ease.
no subject
No, better to stay on the subject at hand rather than dwell on such things.]
If they care about you as friends, I'm sure they would protect you if something happened. They seem very capable in that regard, especially if one of their primary purposes is to battle.
no subject
[ Though ... she remembered Reshiram, who hadn't made it with them here. She bit her lip to keep from showing any more emotion over that. Frederic didn't need to hear it. ]
I would do anything to protect them, too ...
