Event: Core [Day 61]

For this event, Player characters will be split into two groups: Group A and Group B. Group A consists of any characters who arrived in the Bastion before Day 61. Group B consists of any characters who arrived in the Bastion on Day 61. Please keep your posts to the threads that have the heading that corresponds to your respective group.

There are two goals that need to be met:

1: Group A must locate Group B and safely bring them to the Bastion.
2: Someone must bring the Core back to the Bastion.

The second goal is time sensitive. If the Core is not found in time, it will disappear from the Skyway.

This event will consist of free-form tagging. There is no set tagging order, so feel free to have your characters respond to occurrences as you see fit.

[Bon remembers hearing the friendly NPCs Nathaniel mention something about needing more food, so he will go poking around at one of the food stalls.]

[In his searches, Bon will find several bags of rice that have been invaded by mice.

But he will also find two five-pound bags of rice that have remained untouched and are alright for human consumption!

Also, by the magic of the Skyway, he can carry these without being inhibited for the rest of the event.]

[Hells yeah food! He'll be taking those bags with him when he goes to meet back up with the group.]

[Crona just sort of pokes around what looks like a food stall. Ragnarok is more interested in sweets than anything else, so he's probably going to be a distraction.]

[See, the problem there is that this stuff has been left to rot for two months, and most candy is perishable.

However, Crona and Ragnarok do manage to find a small bag of rock candy which has survived the test of time. They also find a dusty book with "RECIPES" written on the front.]

[Ragnarok is going to hold the bag of rock candy, and make Crona carry the recipes. It might be a distraction if they ever have to fight, leaving Crona without a weapon while the weapon is busy stuffing his face with sugar.]

[ Duke hunts down a particularly destroyed stall, interested in seeing if the collapsed structure would yield less destroyed things. Armor for the teens would be nice, so that's what the knight is looking for, really. Armor stands, please have something useful.. ]

[While there are a couple armor stands, most of the armor is made for men much larger than Duke is, and thus wouldn't be very useful to her.

However, in one stall she can find what appears to be a woven undershirt of some kind, except it is made of very thin metal-like strands and goes down to mid-thigh when worn, not unlike a tunic in length. If she tests it, she will find that it is resistant to slashing and piercing attacks, though it offers little protection against bashing attacks.]

[ Well, isn't that nice. The knight is perfectly fine with her own armor, but this gets bundled up to offer to someone who wants it. Better than regular cloth, at least. ]

[Rin hated looking at the statues. But that was okay because Nathaniel had suggested they try to find more than just the Core if it was at all possible.

So she puts Shiro down and splits off from the rest of the group as they all start searching, and hits up one of the stalls that seemed to specialize in practical items like tools, house wear, etc. Something must have ran in to the stall at one point because it's pretty banged up, one side crumpled and a lot of the tools scattered about in some state that ruins their usability.

She frowns, digging around and pushing stuff about, hoping to be able to find something worth while.]

[After some digging, Rin will be able to find a fabric stall! In it are sewing supplies and several bolts of brilliantly colored cloth. It's all a bit cumbersome to carry right now, especially since they still need to fight monsters and find the Core, but it is located right at the entrance to the Melting Pot, so it will be very easy to find (and raid) at a later date.

In addition to the bolts of cloth, there is a bag full of remnants that can be taken along now, though most of the pieces of fabric are oddly-shaped or smaller than a handkerchief.]

Huh.

[Well. Not what she was expecting, but it's still something, and she certainly has use for the fabric, even if her sewing skills are still not that great.

So yes she'll be taking the remnants and the fabric, placing the bolts a little closer to where they came in, hoping she can grab it on her way out.]

[ When Rin puts him down, he follows her for only a brief coupld of moments before he breaks off, curiosity getting the best of him. Normally he would be attracted to things that smell tasty, but considering the rampant rot and how mostly dry food would remain, the chances of stumbling upon anything that smells even remotely freshly cooked are slim at best. He really has no idea what any of the stalls hold and thus no real aim or goal in his salvaging: what attracts him now is anything shiny. ]

[There are lots of shiny things! In fact, there is a stall of jewelry, with several gold and silver necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and hairpins.

All of it is cheaply made, of course, but the cheap gemstones are very shiny!]

[ Marie is just looking through things and also stuff.

It's really more arbitrary because she doesn't actually have any goals in mind, but the others are looking for some kind of supplies. Most importantly, she's trying not to wander off too awful far. If she can always see someone else poking around, she's not going to get turned around.

It might happen anyway. ]

[Marie does not find supplies, like everyone else is finding. Instead, she finds a wallet.

If she looks inside, there is a small bit of foreign money, as well as an ID and some papers written in a foreign language. One definitely looks like an address scribbled on some scrap paper, but the others look like forms of some sort. There is also a picture of a man, a woman, and a young girl within the wallet.]

[Anything that could be of use, anything, Maka will dig through the rubble as deeply as possible. Materials for new things, water, weapons--maybe something to read, whatever.]

[Maka finds a collection of comic books depicting the adventures of a superhero in a tuxedo!

...but it's entirely in Caelondian and thus unreadable to anyone who doesn't know the language.]
