Event: Core [Day 61]
For more details, or if you have any questions, please see the OOC post.
For this event, Player characters will be split into two groups: Group A and Group B. Group A consists of any characters who arrived in the Bastion before Day 61. Group B consists of any characters who arrived in the Bastion on Day 61. Please keep your posts to the threads that have the heading that corresponds to your respective group.
There are two goals that need to be met:
1: Group A must locate Group B and safely bring them to the Bastion.
2: Someone must bring the Core back to the Bastion.
The second goal is time sensitive. If the Core is not found in time, it will disappear from the Skyway.
This event will consist of free-form tagging. There is no set tagging order, so feel free to have your characters respond to occurrences as you see fit.
All important threads are listed below:
Group A starting thread
Group B starting thread
Group A: at The Melting Pot
Group A: searching the stalls
Groups A and B meet up
Boss battle

So when your character awakens on the skyway, what do they do?]
Re: Group B
When they do, he's stunned at what he sees. This... looks a bit like Orphan. Dark rock and all that. But... as he looks around, it's clear that he's far above the surface now, with a warm breeze playing that he'd never feel on his home world.
There's no one around him, either. It's disorienting, and he's not sure where he is or how he got here. So he slowly walks around, eyes wide as he checks his gear and his surroundings.]
...what happened...?
no subject
There are also many statues around the area Osahar is in: men, women, and children, all mingling about, as if they were frozen in time in the middle of a normal day.]

What draws his attention, of course, is the tech. He makes his way over to the machines, picking up a flintlock pistol with care. In all honesty, he can barely guess what it's for- if it wasn't for his computer supplying the helpful information, he'd be lost. This is all so... alien, to him.
After looking around a little more, he risks raising his voice. The quiet is just a little too eerie for him.] ...hello? Is anyone there?
no subject
He hisses in pain when he tries to open his eyes to look for the source of the voice; understandable, given that this is the first time he and sunlight had been acquainted in over three centuries. Well, if the owner of that voice is hostile, and thinks him entirely vulnerable... Well, let's just say that they'll be in for a nasty surprise.]
no subject
Just another unusual thing in a day of very unusual things. It- he?- looks human enough, though, so Osahar cautiously advances, his left hand resting on the plasma pistol at his hip. Not drawing it yet, of course, but just in case.
For the record, Osahar doesn't have much room to talk in the 'unusual' department. Between his bulky nanomesh space suit, energy pistol, tech glasses, and a wrist-mounted computer that catches the sunlight... yeah, he definitely sticks out here.] Are you all right?
no subject
Moving slowly as to not startle the man into attacking, the dhampire rises to his feet. He gives his new surroundings a cursory glance before finally replying.]
...I am fine. Simply unused to the sunlight.
no subject
The glance is worrisome, though. It seems like this man is just as new here as Osahar is- though he doesn't seem terribly worried. In a way, that's a good thing, since Osahar really doesn't want to deal with anyone else's problems when he's got a full plate of his own.
How to proceed, though? After a moment, the engineer awkwardly offers...] My name is Osahar Solarin. Do you know where we are, or what happened?
no subject
...Alucard. Our present location is unknown to me, as is precisely how we arrived here.
[He looks around again warily. This is certainly not Wallachia... Not as he knew it. Nevertheless, if his experience is anything to go by, they are far from safe here.]
........However, I believe we would be wise to be cautious. The creature that petrified these poor souls may have yet to have moved on.
no subject
Not good. But they can work with this, hopefully. What does surprise him, though, is that Alucard speaks of these people as petrified, and that a creature did it. For Osahar, that's not really possible. But perhaps Alucard just means 'creature' in the sense of a person who doesn't deserve the title.]
I agree. If you want to come along, it'd probably be safer to travel in a group. And I don't know about you, but I don't want this to be me. [He points to a statue with a sheepish grin. Maybe he and Alucard aren't natives here, but as far as Osahar's concerned, better to have an ally than to be alone.]
no subject
In addition, down the street from where the pair is, there is a faint glowing. It is partially obstructed by some fallen-over boxes, but it it still possible to see if they look in that direction.]
no subject
He eyes the birds again.]
It would be unwise to move alone under these circumstances.
[That's all he says before beginning to move down the street in the direction of the glow. No need to say anything more; he's sure Osahar will follow on his own.]
no subject
Which is great, because that means that he notices when Alucard moves off on his own. It's actually pretty rare that he's the one who has to follow, so for a moment, he's shocked. He follows quickly, though, and he notices that glow. Hopefully it's something good. Hopefully. If not, he's ready for the worst.]
no subject
Upon reaching the boxes, he takes one last survey of his surroundings. The birds have yet to become aggressive - a matter of time, he's sure - and Alucard would like to keep it that way as long as possible. Osahar has followed as expected as well. Good.
After a moment of consideration, he opts to simply walk around the boxes to investigate, prepared to take action if it happens to be dangerous. Any other way might draw unwanted attention, after all.]
no subject
Still, he follows behind Alucard, keeping an eye on the birds and keeping his weapon drawn. Just in case. One can never be too careful. He keeps an eye on Alucard, though, and what he's going to find. The last thing he wants is to have someone conceal something from him, and he doesn't know Alucard well enough to know whether he would or not.] What is it?
no subject
It is also giving off an electric field of some sort. When Alucard and Osahar approach, any electronics on their person would be instantly powered up to 100% just from the ambient energy it is giving off.
It's also worth noting that, as soon as the birds see the crystal, they caw loudly and fly off. They may or may not be planning things.]
no subject
He looks up abruptly at the sound of the birds leaving, and narrows his eyes at their retreating forms. That's never a good sign...]
...Something that whatever may hold control here likely does not want found.
no subject
Alucard might not have any electronics, but Osahar's got more than his fair share. When all of them start charging up, he freezes. For normal people, that's probably not going to be too much of a problem. For Osahar? He's worried that getting too close might short out his arm, let alone any other havoc that much energy might wreak.]
Whatever it is, it's got a lot of power in it. Normally I'd think it's electric, but I don't know...
[He squints at it.] Wish I had my tools with me. That's important, whatever it is, but I don't want to move it unless I know what I'm dealing with and what it's for.
[Pause. Blink. Frown.] ...and how it got here. This is tech more like I'm used to, not what I've been seeing until now...
