Day 218 [Open]

Who: Anya and anyone
Open: Open!
When: 218, throughout the day
Where: All over the Bastion
What: Unsolicited sex-ed
Format: I'll match
Warnings: Anya has no filters.

Anya does not normally spend much time on the Skyway, but anyone might have noticed she's been going out more than usual over the past week. Sometimes alone, sometimes dragging certain Nobodies along because it is in their best interest.

The goal of all this? Safety and education. She is being awfully generous and using the resulting shards to buy a large quantity of condoms. Not just for herself, but for the Bastion's population of should-be-hormonal teenagers and the like.

If you look like you've been through puberty, Anya is liable to approach you. She's not going door-to-door or anything (she doesn't care that much), but if she sees you around the Bastion, better be prepared for a probably awkward conversation.

[To have an awkward conversation about the proper usage of condoms, the participants would have to have a sense of shame about the subject.

Shame just so happens to be one of the traits Ghaleon is lacking in.]

Ah, Anya. Having a pleasant day, I hope?

[He accepts them with a grin.]

Some used to believe me incapable of feeling embarrassment. They may not be far off the mark.

That said, what do they make these out of now?

[Ah, to be from a world with somewhat schizophrenic tech levels.]
four_quarts: (Nothing much to say.)

True. Even the best herbal remedies can only do so much.

[He pauses a moment to examine one of the condoms more closely.]

So what precisely is this "latex" substance?
four_quarts: (Are you effing serious.)

[He nods appreciatively. Ah, the wonders of invention.]

I meant more in the case of those who don't have the ability to use magic, but I suppose this is less of a bother. Most humans from my world have to chant to use spells, and I'm sure you can imagine how quickly that would become irritating.

[Being around a bunch of teenagers who've become confident enough to test this method and having very good hearing can be problematic at times when one of the better reading spots is near a popular spot for student romance. Seriously, one could do so much better than a rarely used storage closet for that sort of thing.]
four_quarts: (I fear for your sanity.)

Presuming you mean your world's ancient tongue, that is precisely why pronunciation is so fundamental when teaching students. One incorrect syllable could spell the difference between setting a dummy on fire and filling the immediate area with clown puppets.

[Okay, no, that's an exaggeration, although it wasn't exactly an unheard of way to bungle things either.]
four_quarts: (What're you doing Dyne.)

Not directly, although it created enough of a stir that a detailed report crossed my desk. My home city of Vane was once the center of magical study on Lunar, which naturally translated to cleaning up the messes of the more overzealous students. Still, I hear that the system dramatically reduced the cost of damages before things went... shall we say a bit awry?

The use of magic was an uncommon talent amongst the majority of the population, but well respected as a gift from Althena. My people were an exception in that our natural affinity for magic is such that literal translation of our name is the Magic Race.

...Unfortunately, our involvement in the two major near-apocolypses before the one the Calamity interrupted earned us a considerably less flattering moniker and a not entirely undeserved bad reputation.

[And yes, he is implying personal involvement. ...And also that there may have been a few minor instances that didn't make it into the public consciousness.]

It was an attempt to take Althena's place as goddess, although the world would have temporarily been stripped of magic and thus required immediate maintenance afterward. At the time I believed it the best course of action considering humanity's tendency to get itself into trouble even with a benevolent deity, and no others had the knowledge or will to even attempt it.

Admittedly I was also motivated out of a desire for vengeance against her, as had the rest of my people, they for having been cast out to the most desolate lands of the world and left to rot even after the original perpetrators were all dead generations ago, and I for numerous reasons mostly having to do with the ramifications of her abruptly leaving her duties to become human.

I see now that I was wrong to do so.

[His tone says he still hasn't entirely forgiven her, even if he understands her reasons for believing in the power of humanity and all that mushy crap.]

Most people would likely tell you that I'm already more of a jerk then she was. In all honesty, they're probably right.
