What: It's that time again! Time for a Pokemon Daycare Log! But this time we've got some new stuff to do!

[The Pokemon Daycare is a common sight to anyone who has been in the Bastion long enough. Pokemon in general are also a common sight, as there are plenty wandering around either on their own or with partners thanks to the two owners of said daycare.

Today is no different in that regard, but it is different in that some gifts have been bestowed upon the daycare courtesy of Colin. A jungle gym, an agility race course, and several carnival strength tester machines have been set up near the front, as well as a shaded, beautiful looking grotto complete with a large pond and a waterfall.

The Pokemon that are there are having an absolute blast with their new toys, and N can even be found taking a couple of them through the race course.

It would be a good day to join them, see what Pokemon are out and about, and even play with the ones that are there!]

Zoura instantly takes this as an opportunity to jump out of N's hand's and land...

on Naegi's head.]

... Zoura.

[She might be snickering up there.]

[ . . . seriously? Is this what hes reduced to, being a Pokemon bed? ]

... uh, it does know that my head isn't a bed, right...?

She does. She's just mischievous like that.

[N goes reaching for her, only to have Zoura leap down in a spin. There's a flash of light and...

suddenly there's a second Naegi there! Only... with a very fluffy tail.]

[ Okay, that wasn't too bad, the light.

But seeing himself where Zorua was just a moment ago is enough to make Naegi yelp in panic as he stumbles backwards and trips, landing on his ass. Ow. ]

W-what just happened?!

[N is too amused by this. Zoura has been practicing her illusion skill, and yet... she still can't seem to do it without the tail showing.

Snickering with a toothy grin that clearly does not belong to Naegi, she prances around him with her hands up, arms curled in.]

Zoura, and by extension Zoroark, have the ability of Illusion. With it they can mimic other Pokemon as well as humans, though... Zoura needs some work.

[N points to the fluffy tail sticking out, then reaches down and gives it a gentle yank, returning Zoura to normal and causing her to land in his arms.]

I... I see... I didn't know that...

[ Naegi just shoots a dirty look at the Zorua, frowning and maybe pouting a little as he eventually relaxes, sighing as he looked at N with a slightly exaggerated sigh. ]

I wish I did, though - this one seems to enjoy playing the mimic a little too much, doesn't she...

[Aww Naegi, she didn't mean nothing by it!

How about jumping on your shoulder to give your cheek a lick? Will that make things better?]

She's mischievous.

I noticed...

[ Naegi can't really bring himself to stay mad at the Zorua for long, laughing a little as he reaches out to gently pet her, if she'll let him. ]

H-hey! That tickles...

[She loves pets!]

She likes you. Don't be surprised if that means she'll harass you more, though.

Oh, so she's the type to tease the people she cares about, then...

[ That's actually a relief. And kinda adorable, in a way... ]

[She does have adorable qualities beneath all that mischievousness.]

She is that type, yes. Pokemon in general seem to like you.

Ah... I'm glad they do! They're amazing creatures, really... and I don't mind taking care of them if they need it, too!

[ Such is how it was with Naegi, having been part of the animal caretakers at school since he was little... ]

Pokemon truly are amazing creatures.

[Funny he should bring that up.]

Would you like to help us here? We've lost a few of the people that used to aid us.

Ah... of course! I wouldn't mind at all!

[ Naegi can't help but give N a wide grin as he nodded enthusiastically. ]

I admit, I still have a lot to learn about Pokemon, but I'm a quick study.

I can give you Hilda's Pokedex for now. I'll see about writing more information for you later.

[Thank Arceus for a photographic memory. They lacked his extensive library here, but he had it almost entirely memorized anyway.]

Ah... if she's okay with it, then I'll take the Pokedex, sure.

[ Because he wants to be sure he can take something as important as that with him for his use. ]

She's been letting people borrow it occasionally. It's the only working one we have currently.

[Especially since Calem is also gone, now.]

Ah, I see... couldn't you use the Shards to purchase another one, or is that not possible?

[ Since if he recalls right, you could get various items with the Shards they've collected... ]

[That was an option, but...]

I don't know if we could get one with a complete index. Hilda's is far from it, but she still has a large collection of the Pokemon from Unova and some other regions in our world.

A Pokedex works by collecting data on Pokemon encountered. It scans them and connects them back to the known database in any given region.

[Meaning that without a Pokemon Lab to call back to, it might not even work properly.]

. . . oh. So... even if we had an extra one here, it wouldn't even work properly without access to that database, huh...

[ And Naegi's pretty sure they would've seen one floating around in that abyss they call the Skyway and all... ]

[For all the things they did find, a discarded dex and/or database was not among them.]

Colin might be able to help, but I can't promise something like that without speaking to him first.

Ah... well, I wouldn't want to bother him about it, though! I mean, I'd imagine he's already busy making sure the Bastion doesn't fall apart as is...

[ Plus, it's not like wishing for the impossible would really help in this situation, would it...? ]

[N merely shrugged at that. Colin always seemed wiling to help regardless of how important or mundane the project was, but if Nagei would be fine with what they had he wasn't about to bring it up.]

I think we're fine for today around here, but you could come by tomorrow and start learning what we do?

[ Maybe another time? Probably when Naegi himself notes it to N that the Pokedex may need something. Right now, though, training was a thing. ]

Sure. I can be by as early as needed, so just tell me what time and I'll be here!
