Day 294 [open]
Who: Bon and YOU
Open: Open
When: Day 294
Where: around the Bastion
What: Remember that time Zulf said that thing about time travel? Yeah, Bon's been thinking about that too much.
Format: action to start, will match you
Warnings: none so far
[In the days since finding out that apparently Zulf and a few others have all experienced this before, Bon has been unusually quiet. He's been thinking way too much about the possibility of time travel, and the chance to go back and fix things.
But he's not sure if what he thinks is honestly the right choice, so. He's going to go around asking people. To get a general opinion.
So yeah on day 294 Bon will be approaching characters to ask them about it all.]
So what do you think, about this whole 'time travel' thing?

Ahaha... Ibuki's no time travel wizard but, but, I don't know, it sounds totally scary, to be honest! Like, who knows what's going to happen?! We might end up attacked by animated cottage cheese or something!
no subject
[No Bon, don't yell, Ibuki's not doing it on purpose to be mean.]
I think it's safe to say that we wouldn't be attacked by cottage cheese.
Let's stick with what could actually really happen here.
no subject
... More importantly, more importantly, it didn't work the first time, and it's not like Ibuki could make a difference if she's stuck on her crappy island vacation again!!!

I...think it's better left to those who understand time itself, rather than just anyone out of the blue.

Even though your life is caught up in this too?
no subject
There were people who understood it, back where I came from, but I never knew any of them personally. I had just heard of them.

But she's kept to herself on that front, waiting for whenever Bon is ready to talk about it.
Which is apparently today.]
What do I think?
[Rin rested her arms on the counter, one foot behind the other and her tail swaying slowly beneath her skirt. Her gaze wasn't on him, though, rather out the window looking in to the rest of the Bastion.]
Honestly? I'unno. A lot of it is too much to wrap my head around, but I understand what's been done at least. I know there's a lotta shit I'd love to go back and fix... but not if it means knowin' that it could happen all over again no matter how hard I try...

I thought that maybe, if we went back, someone within the Order could possibly change things. Demons can travel to other worlds already, so they could travel to the world Zulf is from.
[Plus they have the demon king of time running their school. Not that Bon knows that or anything, but that is still a thing.]

D'you really think Mephisto would let us do anythin' like that?

<... I think we have to try. I've dealt with time travel before. It's... a big deal, but as long as you're careful...>
no subject
That's what I was thinking too. Zulf seemed against it, but there were only a couple of people when he tried. Between all of us, there has to be someone who can do something, right?

[Maybe not on the scale that they need, but with the help of materials from the Monument...]

You mean what that guy was talking about the other day, right?
[Zulf's name has slipped his mind, if he ever knew it to begin with.]
If our worlds really were destroyed - which I haven't seen any evidence to confirm, people seem to just be assuming they were - but if they were, then aren't we kinda morally obligated to do whatever we can to save all those people, regardless of the risk? Or I guess in this case, make it so that they never needed to be saved in the first place?
But if our worlds are intact except for the pieces that've ended up here, then just having the chance for us to go home isn't worth the risk that Colin was saying there is. Trouble is, we don't have any way of taking a look at our worlds, so we can't really make an informed decision here.

All that really says is that those pieces came here along with us. My thought is that the amount of power you'd need to destroy a world is extreme, and the amount you'd need to break the barriers between multiple worlds and destroy them as well is even more ridiculous. With that amount of power involved, how could something as fragile as a human survive the destruction of an entire world? I think it's more likely that this world just pulled pieces of other worlds in to try and fill in the gaps or something like that, and that back home there are a bunch of mysterious craters in the ground and missing-person reports.

[ Shing can't help but shrug unhelpfully as he looked at Bon, having heard secondhand from other people about the whole timey-wimey situation with the Bastion. ]
One the one hand, well... if there's a chance that we can stop this, then I'd say we take it! But on the other... who's to say that we might end up making things worse?
no subject
[Bon himself is not so sure one way or the other, which is why he is asking people for their opinions.]
no subject
[ There's a wistful smile on Shing's face as he looks up in thought. ]
But without knowing what we'd need to change, well... going back just kinda becomes a moot point, doesn't it?

...Frankly speaking, I am far happier here than I had the chance to be in the world I was from. Callous as it may seem, I have no desire to attempt to reverse time if I am required to return alone.
