And your tears have been worthwhile [Day 293 | OPEN]
Who: Haruka Kokonose and you!
Open: Open
When: Day 293, afternoon
Where: Old Apartments, outside
What: Haruka is finally getting that mural started. Or at least he was, until he decided to take a break and fall asleep
Format: Will follow
Warnings: -
[Some time between Day 290 and 293, a strange structure had come to sit against an outside wall of the old apartments. And also in that time, the entire side that it sat against had been painted pure white.
Slowly through those days, a rough sketch started to appear as well, detailing familiar faces of the residents of the Bastion in various poses as well as a large "banner" drawn above them with... some sort of text that most people weren't going to be able to read unless they were Japanese.
Not that Haruka was giving much thought to language barriers. This was his mural project, the same one he had been going on about for some time now, in it's beginning stages with not much to be impressed about beyond the obvious skill behind the preliminary sketches that had gone up.
Today was no different in that he would be continuing to work on it, and even starting the arduous task of painting all those people.
Though if anyone passed by in the late afternoon, they might think he had ducked out early due to the absence of the scraggly-haired teen on the scaffolding that Colin had built for him.
Except...
is that snoring coming from up there?]

[ Seriously, how did you get all of this done by yourself again... ]
Sure! Uh... let me know if you need anything, then!
[ Naegi will just stare at this wall until then. Hello, wall, how are you. It's a nice day today, isn't it? ]

Haruka works as quickly as he can, making different batches of color to match to the pallet he set up in his sketchbook. He makes a small selection to start with, planning on getting some base colors down before moving on to more detailed things.]
Okay! I guess you can hand me brushes as I need them. That'd be a good place to start.

[ Naegi shrugs, glancing behind him and eventually finding the brushes - and pausing as he stares. You seriously need this many brushes, Haruka? ]
. . . uh.
How do you tell which one is which...?
no subject
Well, that's a square one, that's a round one, and that one is a...
[You did ask, and now Haruka is rambling off a bunch of names and numbers.]
no subject
By the time Haruka's done rambling off about all the brushes at his disposal, Naegi looks even more confused about the brushes than before, mainly because that was more than he was expecting to hear in a few minutes. Uh. ]
. . . okay?
Which one do I get, though...
no subject
Ah... the big flat one!
no subject
[ Naegi grabs it on his first try, though he also ends up grabbing the medium-sized flat one, too...
. . . hey, he's still trying to figure out which is which here, cut him some slack. :|; ]

[ Yeah, there's the right brush this time! ]
. . . I'm amazed you don't mix them all up, honestly.

I've been an artist for most of my life. There's not much else I could do in school because of my condition...
no subject
But... that's not a bad thing, is it? You're really skilled as an artist, and it shows.
no subject
[Sometimes he doubted, as artists are often wont to do when it comes to their craft.]
no subject
[ Meanwhile, he's just... well, ordinary. Just Naegi. Which, perhaps, wasn't really such a bad thing now that he thought about it, huh...? ]
no subject
[Totally got him turning red, man.]
Th-thank you... I never thought of it like that before...
no subject
You're welcome... really, I can't wait to see how this will look once it's done!
no subject
Well that's all the more reason to get to work on this!
no subject
Yeah! How far are you on this, if you don't mind me asking?
no subject
How far? Hmn. Not quite half way. Maybe... a fourth of the way done? The drawings are all on there at least.
no subject
That's a lot more progress than what I would've done on something like this, honestly...
no subject
It's not like I have much else to do...

I mean, I can do this lightning thing, but that's only to distract monsters and escape...

[ Naegi first decides to get off of the scaffolding lest he accidentally break something, so down to the ground he goes, standing in front of a rock... ]
