Day 287 -
Who: Skyla and also you!
Open: Open
When: 287
Where: On the Skyway, a little ways from the Bastion
What: GUESS WHO'S BACK AGAIN BACK AGAIN aka skyla re-intro
Format: I started with prose, but I'm fine with switching
Warnings: Skyla's potty mouth, possible passing references to suicidal thoughts
Her feet hurt.
It feels like she's been walking for an aeon and Skyla's not really conscious enough to put the effort into remembering anything else before it. Putting one foot in front of the other might be the only thing she's ever done, the only thing she's ever been able to do. Like her whole past is made up of walking and her whole future destined for the more of the same. Wouldn't that be just her fucking luck.
Her halting pace finally drags to a stop as her legs simply refuse to move any longer and she figures now's as good a time as any to take a short break. She lets her head tip forward and scowls to herself as she takes in the condition of her clothes. Her shirt is only just barely keeping her modest and her shorts are so shredded they barely even qualify as clothes.
No shoes, either. She'd lost one a while back and dropped the other one in disgust not long after. As a consequence, her feet are filthy -- and cut and bruised and she finds herself wondering just how they're still functioning at all.
With a huff, Skyla finally convinces herself to take another step and immediately feets a sharp pain across the bottom of her foot, accompanied by a warm gush. She's been so cold and numb that she's stopped being aware of just how much her body aches, but this sharp sudden pain breaks through as easily as anything. Scowling, she sucks on her teeth, realizing that the skin on the bottom of her foot had finally broken, under all the abuse and decides she doesn't care.
If she squints -- or so she thinks -- she can see the fuzzy outline of what looks like safety, community -- the Bastion -- on the horizon.
So, ignoring the stabbing pain in her foot, she starts walking again.

Rin was taking some time off from the kitchen, simply sitting quietly with her Tepig and recently gained Oshawott near the entry to the Skyway. She found herself there often these days, hoping against hopelessness that maybe Yukio might return.
The two Pokemon were playing a few feet away when Kintaro (the Tepig) stopped and looked towards the exit. He was quiet for a moment before suddenly starting to bounce about, excitedly crying out.
"... is someone out there?"
"Pig! Tepig Tepig!"
Rin got up, wondering if she should get some one to help. Then again, there might not be time for that. Anyone stumbling off the Skyway could be hurt, or trailing enemies.
"Wait here, guys. I'm gonna go see who that is..."
And hopefully not run in to too much trouble on the way.

Not like she really has much choice at this point. It's like every other motor response has shut down and all she can do is walk. It occurs to her, belatedly, that she could probably use that Healing Touch thing to fix up her foot and the rest of her cuts and bruises but even thinking about it feels like about twice as much effort than it would be worth.
She decides to let herself risk a glance at her destination and this time the buildings on the horizon are a little more defined -- but more importantly, there's someone heading her way. She comes to a stop, suddenly nervous and painfully aware that if they don't have the best of intentions, she's in no fit state to defend herself.
I AM SO SO SORRY I AM SO LATE ON THIS THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS HAVE BEEN INSANE
Rin has every intention to help, especially upon seeing a somewhat familiar face. She had never talked to Skyla personally, but the pink hair was damn hard to miss.
"H-hey! Over here! This way!" she called out once she was close enough to see the person that her partner had sensed out there, waving her hands in the air frantically. It was quiet, no signs of monsters coming their way just yet, but how long would that last?
