Between Zulf's revelation and Azula's arrival, Zuko hasn't been sleeping all that well the past few days. If she isn't up mulling over their situation, then she's startled awake by any sound as she approaches sleep, thinking of lightning.

She hasn't been at the pool lately either, though she's been sure to show up for her morning training regimen. Whichever of her students might show up have probably noticed the lack of sleep, and certainly by today. Her reaction time is slower and she loses focus at times. Still, she's determined to keep up with it.

It catches up with her by sometime in the afternoon. She just meant to sit down for a minute, and that donut tree is pleasantly shady and fragrant, in a way that doesn't remind her of home. And then, at some point, she drifted off, with Kizuna the baby dragon lying curled up on her stomach.

That still doesn't mean she likes having a sister.

[There's not much she can say to that. Sure Yuki-chan got annoyed with her plenty, they had their fights and disagreements, and she certainly wished that Rin would act more mature and responsible...

But that didn't mean they didn't love each other dearly. They were the only family the had left, and it showed in the way they were constantly coming to each other's aid. Even during the mess in Kyoto it was almost as if the other had sensed what was going on with their twin, and that made both of them fight all the harder to stay alive.

To have a sibling that didn't care for you... Rin just couldn't imagine it, no matter how hard she tried.]

I'm sorry she's so horrible...

...I haven't been that great a sister either.

I just hated her for being better at everything, and then having our father shove it in my face.

Hey, I was a shit sister, too! But that's no excuse to wanna kill you. Even Yuki wouldn't be like that, no matter how pissed she got at me. [The incident in the classroom aside that is. Yuki had her reasons for that, none of them stemming from what kind of sister Rin had been up to that point.]

But it wasn't just her.

The last time we fought.. If she hadn't tried to attack Katara, I was going to redirect her lightning right back at her.

That could've killed her. I could've killed her.

She was a threat to your friends, right?

[Rin doesn't even miss a beat on that.]

I've fought family before. Not Yuki... but-- [Amaimon, Asteroth, hell even Mephisto in a looser sense] others. If I had to go that route to protect my friends from them, I would.

I used to be a threat to them, too. If it weren't for Uncle...

I don't know. She's my sister. I don't want to see her lose it again. ...but she's still Azula. I don't know if she's ever cared about what happens to me.

[Rin can somewhat relate to that, if only because there's a side of her that could easily still be a threat to the people she cares about. Control goes a long ways towards keeping it squashed and dormant, but she's already experienced a complete loss of herself once before...

At least Zuko had a change of consciousness on her side.]

Just when she first showed up.

There wasn't any lightning, so I guess it went well.

[She had a feeling Zuko wasn't expecting it to stay that way, though.]

She doesn't know about everything that happened. I don't think I should tell her.

[Rin really wasn't happy that Yukio divulged so much information about her potential future to her, especially regarding Shima. Sometimes not knowing was better than being privy to such things.]

Are... you gonna be willin' to deal with her if she starts shit, though?

[Rin let out a sigh at that.] Well... she already did.

She got all pissy with me for givin' her attitude about how she was goin' around demandin' answers from everyone. It turned in to a fight for all of five seconds before she gave up.

Trust me, if this was out on the Skyway she'd probably still be tryin' to kill me. And Oshawott, too.

[A sigh and a wave of her hand almost dismissively.]

It's somethin' this place does. When fights start between people it'll usually kick in with some sorta... aura, I guess? It makes people calm the fuck down and get tired of it before it goes too far.

I'm surprised that actually works on her.

[That probably explains why Zuko hasn't punched Colin, though.]

No, she didn't hurt me. She just made a lotta threats I'm really hopin' she won't ever make good on.

Azula likes to intimidate people, but she doesn't exactly make idle threats. She had her best friends thrown in prison for helping me.
