Between Zulf's revelation and Azula's arrival, Zuko hasn't been sleeping all that well the past few days. If she isn't up mulling over their situation, then she's startled awake by any sound as she approaches sleep, thinking of lightning.

She hasn't been at the pool lately either, though she's been sure to show up for her morning training regimen. Whichever of her students might show up have probably noticed the lack of sleep, and certainly by today. Her reaction time is slower and she loses focus at times. Still, she's determined to keep up with it.

It catches up with her by sometime in the afternoon. She just meant to sit down for a minute, and that donut tree is pleasantly shady and fragrant, in a way that doesn't remind her of home. And then, at some point, she drifted off, with Kizuna the baby dragon lying curled up on her stomach.

Ch. I can't be burned like that...

[She lets out a sigh, shaking her head.]

No, she didn't hurt me. She just made a lotta threats I'm really hopin' she won't ever make good on.

Azula likes to intimidate people, but she doesn't exactly make idle threats. She had her best friends thrown in prison for helping me.

What exactly did she say?

Jesus, she really is a nut job.

[huff]

Most of it was directed at Kintarou and Oshawott. Blah blah blah power fire bender blah blah burn things 'cause they pissed me off... basically. She made it sound like she was gonna start lightin' anythin' that got in her way in fire, living or otherwise.

Well, she's calmed down since then.

[Or there would have been a lot more fires by now.]

Still, it's a good idea to keep them away from her. She's not above hurting them.

Hn. [Rin doubts that, if only because of how she acted about being trapped here in the first place.] I know. Kintarou at least can take whatever she throws at him. It's Oshawott I'm worried about. He took the most offense to her bitchin' at me, and he's a Water type.

She was defeated by a waterbender.

But he's just a baby. I guess you'll have to figure something out. And tell me if she ever does anything else.

Yeah, exactly. He only just learned the rest of his moves. I don't think he's gonna be evolving any time soon. Or at all, without Yukio here.

[You'll be the first to find out, Zuko. Even if it means the first to find out that Rin just went ahead and punched Azula in the face rather than deal with the rest of her shit.]

Evolving?

Yeah. Pokemon evolve when they get stronger. It's kinda cool.

Not really, no. Not in the same way we do.

They really are pretty strange.

[Says Zuko of the world of hybrid animals but y'know. That's her normal.]

They are. Still glad I have Kintarou, though.

[And Oshawott by default, but that's been a difficult situation all around.]

Yeah. They seem like good companions.

Mhm. Kizuna is a good companion too, though.

[And yes the dragon is getting plenty of pets still.]
