Day 270 ♊Fuck off, assholes, can't you see I'm flowerpicking
Who: The Helmsman and Disciple
Open: Closed
When: 270
Where: from the Tower to the Skyway
What: The Helmsman is on now on a mission, and he's dragging his favorite cat along
Format: Prose
Warnings: Psii's mangled quirk and language
As was becoming slowly custom, Psii had gone off on his own to lay in grass and wander around a bit. Unlike other times, however, he's actually done something called "social interaction" and, well, that's just about changed everything for the plan today.
It's best demonstrated when he returns to the hive, glancing inside only long enough to make sure that Disciple is both there and awake.

And with that, he starts to float right back out of the apartment.

She thought about the places she'd been so far. Hmn. Unless they pasted leaves together, streamers would be hard. Maybe they could make garlands.
"Maybe ropes of flowers? Like flower crowns but longer? Though I don't know what else we would use for decoration."

Finally, all the stairs are over and done with, and the doors are pushed open until they're standing underneath the sun. That'd usually be another sign of a hallucination, but he's unfortunately too smart. There's been too much time spent out in space for him to believe every sun will be like Alternia's sun. Instead, he just sends it a suspicious glare before looking back to the direction of the Skyway.

"Well, we'll just have to see won't we?"
And because she's actually fairly sure he could do laps around her with psionics, she cheats, running ahead before they can do a count.

Which is why he reigns himself in to be fair...
Even if that includes suddenly bursting past in a flurry of red and blue. It actually does feel nice to not be restrained.
no subject
He might have heard a frustrated whine as he bursts ahead though, like a cat. Or an ambulance.

"Stupid cheating psionic."

Despite the snark in the floating words, he still seems to hover closer to her, arm pressing against hers, like he's not sure how serious he should take it. It's still hard to be confident when ever other hallucination with her hasn't always been for the better.
no subject
"Well the rules were clearly implied."

"Hey I didn't realize I was also the search party as well as the backup. Um, look for bushes and splashes of color. If you see all reds and pinks and blue trunks then we've gone way too far and ended up where I came in."
no subject
The only thing he really remembers is that initial journey away from the scrapheap that was once a part of their glorious Empress' ship. He thinks there were flowers along the way, certainly, but there was no telling what would keep from killing people at a party. He finally detaches from her side, glancing around disinterestedly.
no subject
"I wasn't exactly looking for flowers but I suppose it's all the same skills. Hunting moving things is harder after all."
no subject
That's the obvious way to find flowers, after all, isn't it? He floats over to a rather dull bush, poking at it with psionics and a dubious frown.
no subject
She's walking pretty fast though, do keep up.
no subject
Still, he speeds up until he's practically clinging to her side again. The whole land is foreign and alien, but what else is new? He prods curiously at each plant they pass, flowering or not.
no subject
She laces her fingers through his and points out a a bit of land far ahead with little bunches of pretty yellow flowers scattered over the surface and along the edges.
"There we go, purrfect."
no subject
That makes a world of difference, clearly.
As she points out the flowers, he tries to float ahead with her still attached. Yellow... Hopefully that's a good sign, and not a poisonous one.
no subject
She lets go if he starts to pull ahead and when they've reached the first bunch of them, she kneels to give them a closer look. They seem alright. She snaps a stem and lifts it to her nose for a sniff. Caution is for suckers.

"It's pretty, isn't it? Smells nice. If you like strong flowers at least."
no subject
Yes, that's a thing he's very concerned about even as he levitates the flower out from between her fingers. That would be just like one of his hallucinations, to make something as obnoxious as 'death by flower' happen.
no subject
"Really? Flower death? Do you really think I'm going to die from a flower?" She reaches over and pets the petals, "Who's died from smelling a flower? Eating them, sure, but smelling?"
