[It had certainly been a day for Ibuki. What had turned into a simple declaration of pillow fights had become a roller coaster of emotions]

[She had a lot of fun that day, but there had also been a few letdowns and disappointments. Revelations that she hadn't expected at all]

[And yet, one of those unexpected revelations had been something special... but she was also afraid. Afraid that she would be left alone. Again]

[And so, Ibuki slipped into Ippo's room, making her way over to his bedroom]

Ippo-chan!

[... and that was Ibuki, pouncing onto Ippo's bed. For all her unsure feelings she felt, she was still a spaz]

[The only indication that Ibuki would get that Ippo was even in his room was the mass of hair sticking out from under his sheets that practically engulfed his pillow. He'd always been a fairly silent sleeper, always conscious of others even when he wasn't awake; however, the second he was pounced on, he immediately became active, flailing around in his sheets and effectively getting tangled in them until his eyes adjusted to the dark and he saw who was hovering over him now.]

Muh...I-ibuki? What's...going on? Is it morning already...?

No, no! Ibuki couldn't sleep! It was terrible, she was so restless!

So, so...

... so Ibuki had an idea...

[Ippo you might have seen her a bit shy earlier that day, but she seems even more uncertain now than before-]

[Well, as confused as he was about the whole thing, he was more concerned about the fact that Ibuki was having trouble sleeping...even more so that she seemed...jittery, more unusually so than normal. He reached a hand up and placed it against her shoulder, tilting his head a little to the side.]

An idea? What of?

[And then... suddenly, Ibuki bites Ippo's arm]

[An arm bite? Well of all the things...if that's all this was about, it wasn't all that scary was it? He just smiled and rubbed the top of her hair, as always careful not to disturb those hair horns.]

[He raised an eyebrow at the sudden outburst...he only caught a few words out of that whole mess and from what he could piece together...was Ibuki asking to move in to his room? He could feel the color rise in his cheeks, though it wasn't really something anyone but him could notice in the dark and he brought a finger up to scratch at his cheek.]

I...um...I don't...see why not? I mean...you don't think it's too soon?

[Ippo let out a small sigh and sat upright, placing his hands atop Ibuki's shoulders so he could get her attention...not that putting his forehead against hers wouldn't have done that, but he figured it couldn't hurt.]

Ibuki, it's okay, really! If that's what you want...of course you can, I don't have any reason to say no.

[If only the lights were on, his face was beet red and he honestly had no idea what he was doing...but he couldn't stand to see or hear Ibuki cry, it hurt his heart and made him feel like he kicked a puppy.]

Really? Really? That's okay?

[Even if the lights were on, Ibuki wouldn't have really said anything about Ippo's face. Not right now]

You mean it? You're... you're really okay with Ibuki sleeping in the same bed with you so soon, Ippo-chan?

[Yup, she went from moving in to sleeping on the same bed already...]

Night of the 255th to the Morning of the 256th

[He laughed softly and felt his own fatigue set in, drawing him closer to sleep. He nestled himself properly and rested his head against the wall, his eyes finally closing. He felt warm all over and as happy as he'd been even when he'd won his championship belt. It was a uniquely indescribable feeling and he let it draw him into the most peaceful sleep he'd had in as many months as he'd been here.

Sadly, as all good things do, he was roused from his slumber by his internal clock; years worth of training weren't things he could simply ignore...as much as he fancied taking a day off, his pride just wouldn't allow it. He didn't really want to leave his bed, now that he realized that it wasn't all a dream and Ibuki still was very much attached to him and gently sleeping after all.

It seemed a shame to wake her, but he couldn't move with her where she was, and if she didn't fancy joining him on his run, she was definitely more than welcome to go right back to sleep; with that in mind, he gave her a few gentle taps on the shoulder.]

Ibuki...? I'm sorry, but I have to get up for my morning exercises. You don't mind do you?

[Whelp, if he'd been groggy before the sudden yelling outburst was enough to snap him to attention, though this early in the morning he defaulted to a chuckle immediately afterwards. At least she woke up quickly enough without him having to shake her or anything.]

Good morning to you too. Do you want to join me for a morning jog or would you rather sleep some more?

[Because not everyone had rigorous training regimens to keep, also it would be terrible to pull sleepytime Ibuki away from her bed. The worst!]

Mmm... Ibuki's comfortable like this!

[She didn't actually mind the hour Ippo had gotten up at but... she was so comfy!]

[Ippo nodded and tried to rise...but found that no matter which way he moved, Ibuki remained quite fervently clung to him. Eventually he just kind of...gave up, letting his shoulder shrug a bit, though he was smiling as contently as ever.]

I take it you want me to take a day off?

Right, right!

So, so, take the day off! Spend some more fluffy time with your newly acquired Ibuki!

Okay, okay...one day won't kill me, but this can't be an everyday thing, alright? I gotta stay fighting fit in case Nathaniel finds another core!

[He almost considered going back to bed...but, Ibuki had woken him up thoroughly and his energy was already there; no point in fighting it now.]
