Day 241 [Open] - The Starting Bell
Who: Takamura Mamoru and ANYONE
Open: Yes
When: Day 241
Where: The Skywalk
What: Takamura found wandering the Skywalk
Format: Will Match
Warnings: Probably cursing.
The relative peace and quiet of the Skywalk is suddenly interrupted when a rather loud yell can be heard a short ways away. Anyone who follows the sound will find a fairly tall man with black hair surrounded by a large group of squirts, some of which are clinging to his legs. He doesn't appear to be hurt. In fact, rather than fearful, the man looks to be enraged as he lashes out with his legs and fists at the small creatures around him.
"Get the hell off of me! Oh you wanna piece of me too! I'll crush every last one of you!"
It's fairly clear to anyone who is from the Bastion that this guy's a new arrival since his face isn't a familiar one.
Will you help him deal with the many small menaces surrounding him or continue to watch the show?

This left Takamura now alone with his rescuer, the sun's position helping to obscure it in shadow as what could only be assumed was a man stared at him, as if transfixed. The voice that came from beneath the hood might sound familiar, if not a little deeper and worn by hardship.]
"Can...this be real...? Are you?"
[A strange question, but the stranger brought his hand up all the same as if to reach out and confirm that Takamura was actually a real person standing in front of him. What do?]
no subject
Who are you and where the hell am I?!
no subject
Just excuse your kouhai as he moves through that grip and slams into your chest with the biggest bearhug in Bastion history.]
I knew it...I knew you were still out there...I just knew it...!
no subject
Ippo?! What're you doing here? Where are we? When did your hair get so long?
no subject
Sorry...sorry it's just been a long five months Takamura-san. Follow me, I'll explain everything...your probably not going to like a lot of it though.
[He turned back towards the Bastion, giving his sempai a gesture to follow; knowing him, he'd probably want some food and something to hit once he got the info he was looking for, best to get near those things first.]
no subject
Five months? How have you been here for five months when you just had a title defense a few weeks ago?!
no subject
[Well...it seemed like a logical next step from when he got it, but it was good to hear he'd gotten that far.]
Time here...doesn't work right, for lack of putting it any better. The last thing I remember before waking up here was winning my belt from Sendo-san and then going to sleep after the party.
[A good last memory to have, all things considered.]
What do you remember last, Takamura-san?
no subject
How can you have forgotten that?!
[Seriously, few people took boxing as seriously as Takamura and Ippo was definitely pretty high up there as taking it just as seriously. Forgetting things like that for him was just....not right.]
no subject
[He framed it in his room and everything.]
I'm glad I did such a good job though! I'm sure you and everyone else helped a lot with my wins.
no subject
[It was rather crazy to comprehend. Unimaginable, but Ippo was far too much of a straight arrow to lie about something like this. And he did look like he'd been here for a while so maybe he was right. Damn, things just keep getting more and more confusing by the moment.]
no subject
[That part was still beyond him right now, but Colin had been helping him to understand the multiverse theory.]
Nothing here makes any sense...how we got here doesn't make any sense. You didn't see any...statues of people you recognized when you woke up, did you?
no subject
[More like he didn't think to look since he was too busy being confused and angry.]
no subject
[Ippo gave a small nod as the two finally entered the Bastion. Takamura might find a wave of calm wash over him the second he stepped over the threshold, though the situation might make it hard to appreciate the feeling.]
The truth of it is...and I don't expect you to believe me on this...
[He turned around, hands in the front pocket of his hoodie as he stared Takamura directly in the eyes. If he had any chance of his sempai believing him, he had to be as direct as possible.]
Our world...and a lot of other worlds were completely wiped out by something called the "Calamity". We don't really know what exactly happened, but we know it originated from here...
no subject
Wiped out......you're sure of this??
no subject
[His voice was a little harder when the word hope came out; the syllables carefully guarded as if they might be laced with needles otherwise.]
This here is the Bastion, a safe place from all those monsters out on the Skyway. For some reason, they don't bother trying to get in...not that anything in its right mind would pick a fight with a full grown dragon.
[That's right. The Skyway might have an army, but they had a Dragon.]
1/2
[He looks around, scanning what he can see from their position. He's so busy taking it all in he almost doesn't fully register all that Ippo says.]
Yeah, I guess having a dragon around does come in handy...............
2/2
Did you say a dragon?
no subject
[He said, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Then again, having been here for as long as he'd been, it was rather natural for him at this point.]
He's really nice though, to us at least, so its nothing for us to worry about. It's just everything out on the Skyway that has to worry.
no subject
Well then....so long as he doesn't cause any trouble here, then it's fine.
no subject
[He said, leading Takamura over to the kitchen area, figuring his sempai would probably want something to eat after everything had happened.]
I hit some bad times...and he really helped me through them. Strange as that sounds, I know.
[Being coached through difficult times by a dragon, how could things be any stranger than that? The answer is they could, and by a large degree.]
no subject
[Yeah, this place just keeps getting stranger by the moment. And Ippo's actually been stuck here for a while? Poor kid.]
no subject
Then he came upon... the scene. The rather angry fellow didn't seem to be all that worse for the wear so he didn't see any immediate need to swoop into the rescue either, despite how rearing to go Gogoat was. Having him charge in would probably leave the poor man more injured then he was now anyways.
"That's not very nice!" he tried not to laugh, "Perhaps they think you're their mother."
no subject
"You think that was funny?"
no subject
"Besides, it looked like you were handling the situation perfectly fine," he waved a hand dismissively, "If it really looked like you were in trouble I would have jumped in with no delay."
no subject
He folded his arms over his chest as he gives Calem and his shrubbery a once over.
"Of course I was handling it. Shrimps like that would need another hundred years before they could hope to be a challenge for someone like me."
no subject
"In all seriousness though you should still be careful of those little guys when they come in hordes like that! If you were near the edge of one of the islands and you lost your balance... well that might be the end then."
no subject
"What, you gotta problem too? I'll prune the both of you down to size."
He'd actually noticed those precarious edges and wasn't keen on getting any closer to them then necessary and instinctively moved further away from the nearest one.
no subject
Gogoat loved a good fight enough that he would occasionally misinterpret some of the things his trainers said as a command to attack."
no subject
How an animal that can't talk was doing that isn't relevant. He just knew.
"Heh, as if my awesome physique isn't evidence on its own of my superior strength! But I'll let you and your 'gogo' off easy if you tell me where the hell I am and how I can get down from wherever here is."
no subject
"Ah so you ARE new, huh?" Calem sighed. He had a sinking suspicion that was the case but he really hoped not. Telling people about the end of the world was never a fun thing.
...Maybe he could kinda skirt around the topic and let someone else be the bearer of bad news.
"You're in the Skyway right now. It's pretty distasteful in all honesty. Lot's of junk and monsters about. Though clearly nothing you and your mega muscles are unable to handle," he managed not to laugh this time around, "As for how to get down... well you kind of need to climb, jump or other wise hop, or just hope you can find a stable enough crossing from floating island to floating island until you reach the Bastion."
no subject
"Alright then, lead the way to the Bastion. Perhaps they'll be able to get me back. I gotta lot of important things to do."
Training to do, kouhais to torment, porn to read. The life of a champion has so many challenges.
no subject
"Though I'm not so sure there will be any getting back for you when we get there," he explained with a little reluctance, "I believe you may be here for good."
no subject
"What do you mean? If something brought me here, it should be able to take me back, right?"
no subject
"Say I didn't catch your name!" he could delay for a moment or two at least, "I'm Calem."
no subject
"How far is this Bastion place?"
