Day 241 [OPEN] - Wakeup call

Who: Ibuki Mioda and whoever!
Open: Open forever
When: Day 241, very early in the morning
Where: Around the Monument.
What: Ibuki Mioda arrives at the Bastion... loudly.
Format: Log, but willing to switch to other formats!
Warnings: Scary ghost! 2 spooky!

It was just only becoming daylight at the Bastion when a new arrival would show: A young lady with wild hair. There was nothing particularly extraodinary about her, unless one was to notice the "horns" on her head; but that was only her hair styled to resemble such a feature.

She looked a bit confused and travel-worn; but a one hour walk was really nothing to her. Ibuki was far from exhausted.

And now that she arrived at what appeared to be civilization, where should she go? The apparent center of the village seemed like a good start.

"Yoohoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo?!" she shouted once she reached the Monument, apparently having no regard for people who may still be sleeping, "Hellooooooooooooooooooooo?! Is anybody here?!"

If nobody came out to answer, she'd have to start invading buildings...

[Edit: Now that she's been given the lowdown on the situation, ... you can still feel free to come across her being loud. Ibuki wants to meet new people!]

[Edit of nostalgic regret: This was before I had Ibuki use -chan and made up weird nicknames instead...]

Jeez, Ibuki. That's... awfully quick. That's probably the quickest she's heard anyone refer to her by a nickname. Anyway, she's not so stuffy that she's just going to tell Ibuki to stop, not anymore. Of course, that's probably largely due to Aoi. If it weren't for their interactions, too, Patchouli would probably be calling Ibuki 'Miss Mioda' (if she knew her full name), and that'd just get to be a pain after a while, right?

"I'll see what I can do, Ibuki."

"Well," Patchouli explained, "the hope would be that you eventually wouldn't need me to cast magic on you, and that you'd be able to do it to yourself. But, I guess if we can't get to that point, then yes, it'll just be me using magic on you."

Besides, wouldn't Ibuki rather not have the ability to float be so dependent on someone else?

Well... tht actually would be kind of inconvenient. Unless Ibuki could break the height constraints the Bastion sets on Patchouli's flying ability. That would make Patchouli cry.

"I will do what I can. My magic is... fairly limited here, compared to before my arrival." That probably shouldn't preclude her too much from teaching Ibuki to fly, though.

"Well, I don't see why it..."

She actually had to pause when Ibuki brought that up.

"Actually, I'm not entirely sure! I'm sure we could see to getting hold of one of those, I think."

Really, Patchouli did end up spending most of her shards on other people. Maybe she did have a side of her that wasn't just a loner jerk.

"Well, I think you might need more performers than just yourself, from the sounds of that..."

Then again, she had no idea who else Ibuki could play with. Maybe she could try to rope Patchouli into it. Which would probably fail miserably, to be fair.

"I don't really know how to play any of those instruments... I can learn, though! I tend to learn things very fast and am quite capable with my hands."

She probably knew to play an instrument, but certainly not something of much use to Ibuki.

She was probably expecting Ibuki to just tackle her right out of the air in excitement. She was glad that Ibuki didn't.

"That's true. We probably should do that first."

She still hadn't explained the matter of shards to Ibuki yet. Maybe she already knew.

"Please don't..."

Oh. Right. Getting to finding the instruments would be a good idea. Of course, they probably wouldn't find them. They could still use shards, though.

is that where our cr is going already

Patchouli looked over in the direction that Ibuki pointed to, before turning back to face her, albeit a little slowly.

"Um... that's... where I live. I highly doubt they're in there and it probably wouldn't be a good place to perform."

this would probably be the strangest pairing ever

"I'm not entirely sure either, but I haven't ever really looked. I guess we may as well search everywhere."

Wow, Ibuki, you've known her ten minutes and you want to know what her house is like?

"I guess I could do that, yes."

perhaps; probably less violent, though, too

Patchouli... honestly wasn't sure anymore. There had to be someone, right? She knew Jay seemed musically inclined, but he also seemed like he came from a time before the invention of the electric guitar. He'd probably be of no help.

"Not that I know of," she responded, "but we can ask around, I guess."

yyyyyyyeah, definitely far less violent, no need for ibuki to do her sack-of-potatoes impression

Patchouli laughed a little. Ibuki's enthusiasm was impressive.

"Well, I guess that, after the instruments are assembled, electrifying them can't be that hard, anyway. I believe the very earliest electric instruments, from the twenties or so, used modified telephone transmitters. Of course, I don't think we have easy access to that kind of thing, but we'll make this work. Or I could just spend some of my shards on proper instruments and we wouldn't have to worry about that level of jury-rigging."

So yes, technically, they still could make everything on their own.

Patchouli noticed that Ibuki completely glossed over the shard thing. She just seemed to be lost in her own little world, maybe. Oh well.

"Look, don't even think about that," she responded. "I think I know a way that we can accomplish this easily." Having a fairly massive stockpile of shards helps a lot with many things. Most of what she does with them is spend them on other people. Also that library, but aside from that...
