Day 241 [OPEN] - Wakeup call
Who: Ibuki Mioda and whoever!
Open: Open forever
When: Day 241, very early in the morning
Where: Around the Monument.
What: Ibuki Mioda arrives at the Bastion... loudly.
Format: Log, but willing to switch to other formats!
Warnings: Scary ghost! 2 spooky!
It was just only becoming daylight at the Bastion when a new arrival would show: A young lady with wild hair. There was nothing particularly extraodinary about her, unless one was to notice the "horns" on her head; but that was only her hair styled to resemble such a feature.
She looked a bit confused and travel-worn; but a one hour walk was really nothing to her. Ibuki was far from exhausted.
And now that she arrived at what appeared to be civilization, where should she go? The apparent center of the village seemed like a good start.
"Yoohoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo?!" she shouted once she reached the Monument, apparently having no regard for people who may still be sleeping, "Hellooooooooooooooooooooo?! Is anybody here?!"
If nobody came out to answer, she'd have to start invading buildings...
[Edit: Now that she's been given the lowdown on the situation, ... you can still feel free to come across her being loud. Ibuki wants to meet new people!]
[Edit of nostalgic regret: This was before I had Ibuki use -chan and made up weird nicknames instead...]

"I'll see what I can do, Ibuki."
no subject
Yes, the prospect of floating sure sounded great to her. Maybe she'd even get to fly.
"Does Ibuki need to do anything, or are you going to use magic on me?"
She'd seen the dragon already, after all, so............ yeah, magic wasn't a hard concept for her to grasp, now.
no subject
Besides, wouldn't Ibuki rather not have the ability to float be so dependent on someone else?
no subject
"I see, I see... Ibuki would like to fly on her own! If you can teach me, Ibuki is willing to learn!"
no subject
That would make Patchouli cry."I will do what I can. My magic is... fairly limited here, compared to before my arrival." That probably shouldn't preclude her too much from teaching Ibuki to fly, though.
no subject
"Really? Ibuki hopes that her music isn't limited here!"
But, now that she thinks about it...
"Say, does this place have any electric guitars? Amplifiers? Bass guitars? A good drum set?"
She's already being distracted from the prospect of flying...
no subject
She actually had to pause when Ibuki brought that up.
"Actually, I'm not entirely sure! I'm sure we could see to getting hold of one of those, I think."
Really, Patchouli did end up spending most of her shards on other people. Maybe she did have a side of her that wasn't just a loner jerk.
no subject
While flying would be cool, she really couldn't live without her music! She at least had some priorities in her life, even if she often seemed to bounce around subjects quite a bit.
"You can come to my concert when Ibuki figures out a good venue to hold it at!"
no subject
Then again, she had no idea who else Ibuki could play with. Maybe she could try to rope Patchouli into it. Which would probably fail miserably, to be fair.
no subject
Granted, she has no idea how much music aptitude Patchouli had, but she wasn't against teaching.
no subject
She probably knew to play an instrument, but certainly not something of much use to Ibuki.
no subject
So agreeable! Ibuki couldn't complain about that.
"But first, we need to see what instruments we can get!"
no subject
"That's true. We probably should do that first."
She still hadn't explained the matter of shards to Ibuki yet. Maybe she already knew.
no subject
No, she wasn't actually going for a bite. She says weird stuff like that when she gets excited....
"But... Ibuki doesn't know where the instruments are kept..."
She hasn't heard about the shards yet, no...
no subject
Oh. Right. Getting to finding the instruments would be a good idea. Of course, they probably wouldn't find them. They could still use shards, though.
no subject
Don't worry, her bites are gentle wait I mean-"Maybe there's some in that building?"
She just happens to be pointing at your library, Patchouli... totally a coincidence.
"We could have our concert there, too."
no subject
is that where our cr is going alreadyPatchouli looked over in the direction that Ibuki pointed to, before turning back to face her, albeit a little slowly.
"Um... that's... where I live. I highly doubt they're in there and it probably wouldn't be a good place to perform."
no subject
n-nooo wait I don't know is it?"If you live there, then you'd know best! But then, where would instruments be kept around here? Ibuki is new and has no idea!"
She gives the library a considering look.
"Still, if you live there, you can give Ibuki a tour of the place after we find our instruments!"
no subject
this would probably be the strangest pairing ever"I'm not entirely sure either, but I haven't ever really looked. I guess we may as well search everywhere."
Wow, Ibuki, you've known her ten minutes and you want to know what her house is like?
"I guess I could do that, yes."
no subject
about as strange as the patchouli and marisa ship really"After we find instruments, though."
The instruments were important. She absolutely had to get something in her hands, music was her life after all.
"But where to start...?" Ibuki crossed her arms, "Are there any other musicians here?"
no subject
perhaps; probably less violent, though, tooPatchouli... honestly wasn't sure anymore. There had to be someone, right? She knew Jay seemed musically inclined, but he also seemed like he came from a time before the invention of the electric guitar. He'd probably be of no help.
"Not that I know of," she responded, "but we can ask around, I guess."
no subject
yeah. you shoot ibuki with danmaku and she'll go down like a sack of potatoes, so hopefully considerably less violent"If all else fails, Ibuki will have to make everything herself!"
...
"Ibuki has no idea how she'll do that, but she'll do it anyway if it's necessary!"
no subject
yyyyyyyeah, definitely far less violent, no need for ibuki to do her sack-of-potatoes impressionPatchouli laughed a little. Ibuki's enthusiasm was impressive.
"Well, I guess that, after the instruments are assembled, electrifying them can't be that hard, anyway. I believe the very earliest electric instruments, from the twenties or so, used modified telephone transmitters. Of course, I don't think we have easy access to that kind of thing, but we'll make this work. Or I could just spend some of my shards on proper instruments and we wouldn't have to worry about that level of jury-rigging."
So yes, technically, they still could make everything on their own.
no subject
Okay, all the technical stuff is out of her league. It's actually a bit offputting.
"If Kazu was here, he could rig up something pretty easy, I bet."
... well, crap, and here she was trying to forget about the fact that all her friends apparently died in some catastrophe she somehow slept through.
She didn't quite pick up the bit about shards.
no subject
"Look, don't even think about that," she responded. "I think I know a way that we can accomplish this easily." Having a fairly massive stockpile of shards helps a lot with many things. Most of what she does with them is spend them on other people. Also that library, but aside from that...
