[Day 205] It's the end of the world, get drunk

What: The Cael way of celebrating everyone not dying involves booze, so drink up! (Fun fact: the Cael way of mourning may also involve booze.)

Warnings: Drunken shenanigans, likely. Also feel free to treat this like a mingle thread and not just talking to Georges! (Although he'll try to chat with everyone if he can)


So, just to double check: A cure has been found? Everyone's recovered? No one's dead? It's safe to leave the house now? Excellent.

With this fact well known, one can find Georges starting off his morning not hanging about the bar (as is his custom as the only bartender in the Bastion) but in fact setting up something in front of the Monument. Tables, chairs, some blankets to sit on when those inevitably run out... There's also something of a makeshift bar area, a variety of liquor in fascinating bottles set up along with some glasses.

Everything is all finished up around the afternoon, and Georges goes behind his little makeshift table-bar to cup his hands around his mouth so he can yell-

"DRINKS ON THE HOUSE!"

...What do you mean he technically never makes anyone pay for booze at the end of the world? Just come up and have a drink, Georges will be happy to recommend something. Or maybe bother someone else having a drink?

[Well, that was enough to get him to stop, but only enough so to make him simply jog in place. He had places to go Georges, shounen places.]

What? I gotta get to where Ahime is right away! If there's anything I can do to help...I owe her that much!

Well, that's certainly one way to make Georges pause in getting a drink ready. Colin's far too casual statements earn a raised eyebrow. "Sure you shouldn't still be resting? It seems like everyone else could be using the breather and from what I hear you were one of those working the most. What's so big you have to head out again?"

[ For a second, Duke thought that he had said "and some stuff", not "real good stuff", and hoped that was just bartender talk. Then ears catch up and Duke feels a little silly.

And warm. ]

Colin laughs quietly, and he shakes his head.

"Ten hours of sleep is all I'll afford myself," he says. "Too much more and it'll throw my body's rhythms out of whack. Then I'll be no good to anyone until I can get them all back in order."

He sighs, and he leans forward on the bar then.

"The plague is still out there," he explains. "There's survivors still out there, people who either can't or won't come here. We won't get 'em all, but we've gotta help who we can. Every life left is important."

Lemme know if you want another glass. I heard you were one of those who got real sick, after all. Seems like you out of everyone really deserves a drink.

Georges listens patiently, expression more serious than his usual cheery and welcoming smiles. When Colin finishes, he gives a slow nod.

"That group that attacked the ones who went to go get the cure with Zahi? I heard a bit about that, but... I don't know everything that happened. You think they're really going to want to listen if they attacked us?"

"And THAT is why I'll be bringing the stun grenades," Colin says, giving Georges a wicked grin. "Just in case. As the saying goes, 'Crazy, not stupid.' I highly doubt if they'll want to cooperate with us, or even accept our help, but if people gave up on helping just because of that, what a shitty world it would be, huh?"

[He knew what he wanted to do...but Georges was right in all of this. Him going flying into the hospital was probably the worst thing he could do; he was a boxer, not a doctor, he'd just be in the way. He stopped jogging and let his shoulders slump, looking rather helpless for someone of his stature.]

Well...is it still possible for her to have visitors? I'd like to at least see her...

That seems to help Georges relax a bit, and he grins a little as he shakes his head before returning to making Colin's drink. "Fair enough! I hope you and whoever else are going out there just stay safe. We really hit it close this time, sounds like." Finally finished, he passes it over to Colin. It's a pretty simple thing, but hopefully it'll do.

"Actually, I can prepare you some drinks that might help out there on the road, if you'd like."

Wouldn't doubt it, just make sure to take it up with the doctors there. [Well, doctor, really. Thanks Yukio.]

Besides, I... think you could use the trip there yourself.

[Just gonna. Point at your bleeding hands there.]

[Ippo looked down at his hand and saw that, whoops, it was cut open by the glass he'd crushed. It wasn't anything major, but it would probably do to get it disinfected.]

Sorry...I kinda got ahead of myself there. Thanks for reeling me in, I appreciate it.

[He might look more imposing now than he did when you first met the wee lad, but he still was the same old Ippo he'd always been. Some things truly never did change.]

[That's probably a joke, judging by the way Georges is smiling. Probably.]

[Not really. Roxas is not exactly the epitome of a smooth conversationalist either, but the booze loosens him up a little.]

The only reason people don't drink is because they haven't found something they like yet! [Pause.] Or they're horribly allergic to alcohol and it would kill them. But I haven't met anyone like that.

So c'mon, tell me what sort of taste you have and I'll be sure to find you something!

[ Well, there's a somebody here that approaches her. He's actually curious about what she's up to standing so far away from people, and he'd just come from that delicious doughnut tree to bring over some (and to snack on one!)
