Re: the radio tower
[Colin looks up at the tower, and he nods to himself.]
This is just one of those reasons why I always carry rope in the field...
/+1, hope this is okay
So, here she was.
Kohaku wasn't exactly as prepared as her companions for the Skyway, but she also hadn't been on the Skyway since after her arrival here. She had Elrond out, though, and was keeping a lookout for anything dangerous.
She looked to Nathan and Colin as they started doing things. ]
Is there anything I can help you guys with?
[ Technology was way beyond her, but surely there was something she could help with ... ]
definitely okay! |Db
[While Colin is checking it, Nathaniel pulls Kohaku aside to show her how to turn on the sensors.]
See the big red flashy part here? You twist it counter-clockwise until it clicks, then press it in. It'll pop back up, and the light inside will start blinking. That's how you know it's good to go.
The shards inside will power them for about two hours, so we can turn them on now and attach them to the tower when Colin is done checking it.
Kohaku has joined the party!
If you can keep your eyes open for any creatures that might harass me up there, I'd appreciate it.
[Colin's busily preparing the rope for his climb, and he grins at Nathan.]
You ever been up on a scaffold for a repair job, yet? Or a tower like this?

Okay, I can do that.
[ So turn on the sensors and then keep a lookout for anything that might wanna disrupt what they're doing. Kohaku's just gonna get to work on doing what she's been told to do. ]

[He smiles at her, then he grins at Nathan.]
Good, good. 'Cause when this gets back to the Bastion, you're gonna be doing the climbing, not me.
[And with that, Colin's climbing the spire like a monkey. He takes care to work with the rope, tying off at regular intervals so that he won't have to worry if he falls, and he's setting himself to the task of inspecting the equipment.]

[And while Colin climbs around, Nathaniel will be setting up the sensors too. He wants to have all of them ready to go by the time Colin climbs down.
But he's also keeping an eye on Colin, in case he slips or something. With Duke here, they should be able to heal any broken bones fast.]

I gotta say, the view up here is great!
[And he's just going to keep right on inspecting the tower, the wiring, and any devices that may be in place. He wishes he knew what world this place was from, though. It's pure serendipity to be sure, but if he knew what this place's purpose was, he'd probably be able to work out some nifty tricks with the tech to better serve them.]
